    Great video doorbell with a few quirks

    I finally joined the video doorbell club. I’ve always wanted a video doorbell and already had a hand full of Arlo cameras, so an Arlo doorbell seemed like the perfect choice. I’m pretty satisfied with this unit with a few exceptions. For the most part it does what you’d except from a video doorbell. Set up: set up is fairly easy, this doorbell uses your or installed doorbell wires and chime box to power the doorbell. Double check you set up to be sure you have the right equipment to make this doorbell work. The one note here is to render this doorbell is going to be considerably bigger than your standard doorbell, so you will have to drill be mounting holes in your house. I didn’t realize this and drilling into brick is a pain. There is an option to angle mount, which I did, if you have a word doorbell placement. Overall it’sa fairly straightforward setup, you should not have much trouble. Using: if you’ve used an Arlo camera before you’ll be right at home. Everything is in the Arlo app. There are options to receive a voice call on your phone when it rings, options to leave a voicemail if you don’t answer, and options to silent the come or the call, though I had trouble silencing each of these independently. The doorbell has great video quality that will capture your entire doorstep in daylight or night. The sound is better than any Arlo cam I have used and it’s very nice not to have to worry about charging since it’s hardwired in. Arlo smart: Arlo smart is a cool add on you can pay for to retain video, set activity zones and receive smart alerts (alerts with pictures). It’sa cool add on you get for three months and can purchase after. Overall this is a great doorbell with some needed work on the silencing feature. Other than that I think this will do a great job.

    Purchased in Sept 2021. Already stopped working. It's wired and, require an electrican for services. So, money spent that can't be recovered. Not a recommended product.

    Stick with Ring!

    I have had this for a little over a year. The door bell works, however, the video part of it keeps freezing and needs to be reset over and over. It is very difficult to get it to reset and pair with the app as well.

    I love the resolution on this little thing, the image quality is great, the motion detection and the quick notification is amazing, love how it can tell from a person to an animal and it doesn’t send me notifications every second my cat roams around the front porch, the night vision quality is awesome, if I’m not home, I get a call when they ring the bell, I can even talk to them from the app, I can’t stop raving about this product, I’m getting a lot of people to use Arlo, it blows my mind! You can’t put a price to peace of mind.

    I used to have a Nu-Tone Knock, which was crap. I love my new Arlo doorbell! I do wish I could see just a few inches more to the left, but that’s nitpicking. The pictures are clear day and night. It was super-easy to install and worked with my existing chime and transformer. I’m very happy with it. BTW, it’s just the right size. The initial purchase price is very low compared to the competition. The monthly cloud price is only $3! Now I plan to get an Arlo camera for my backyard.

    Don’t waste your time with this product. Installed and worked fine for about a month a then I couldn’t get it to connect with my network. Tried the support chat and was told by the virtual chat agent that I wasn’t eligible for live chat. In other words, they already had my money and I could go pound sand. Arlo support is nonexistent, unless you want to pay for the privilege of chatting with them. Save your money!

    Good Doorbell

    Doorbell was easy to install and seems to work well. I followed the installation instructions and it started working. Video quality is. Good. Even records critters at night. Occasionally when I check the app, it says I’m disconnected. I don’t know if it is the doorbell disconnecting or the app on may phone, hence, one less star.

    This doorbell is great, can set everything you can think of, night vision, can tell the difference between a package, animal or person, service is really inexpensive for what they offer compared with others. Apple HomeKit compatible but a Arlo hub is required. Installation was easy through the step by step video instructions. Clear 2 way voice communication. I do a lot of research and this one has paid off in more ways than one.

    Product is the worst product I ever bought. A first I got it connected to my wireless. I recently disconnected from my wireless then try to add it back. I followed all the guidelines and troubleshooting steps. Didn't work. Try connecting to the Arlo Smart Hub. Didn't work. There is no way to added to Wifi or the Hub. Factory Reset numerous time and still same issues. Cannot get a Support Tech on the phone...

    This is the third doorbell camera I’ve tested in the last few years, and I’ve been amazed by the progress in their development. Arlo initially had a camera-less doorbell, and I wasn’t interested, but after becoming familiar and pleased with their other home security cameras, I was excited to add this new doorbell camera to the family. Installation was a breeze. Since I already had the app, I was able to follow the in-app instructions for proper installation. The only hiccup was near the end when I was trying to add the doorbell camera to the app: apparently Arlo had already added the camera without my knowing and thus couldn’t find it when I tried to add it. Thus I would advise checking the list of cameras to make sure your new camera hasn’t already been added. The doorbell camera has a few nifty features that I haven’t seen before. Visitors can leave recorded messages (such as on an answering machine), the camera can detect whether something is a human or a vehicle and alerts accordingly, and activity zones can be modified to exclude certain motions (such as a busy road). There are a few opportunities for improvement with this camera. It doesn’t include an LED light for nighttime purposes, so the night vision is not as clear as my other doorbell cameras. Also, although you can set zones of activity, you can’t set proximity parameters (ie, I can set one of my other cameras to start recording within 20 feet of the frame). I would definitely recommend this doorbell camera. The new features are impressive, the interface is solid, load time is quicker than my other cameras, and the image quality is better.
