    Camera fail to capture motion when needed. It is impossible to view live video when there is motion, and no video is captured. It doesn’t do the job that it suppose to do.

    I went through two of these before finally moving to Ring. Our other Alrlo cameras are fine (have floodlight and two of their other cameras) but the doorbell was nothing but problem after problem with a small lull of it working well in between. If it loses signal you’re tearing it off the wall over and over again. Save yourself a headache and get a different brand.

    Once good, now useless as security cameras.

    Arlo used to be good. After various updates to their software - their products are useless. They don’t record motion. I have packages delivered to the front door (right in front of the camera) and they never record anything. I suspect they dialed down the sensitivity of their motion section to avoid excess recording of bugs, etc. but in the process they have made their security system worthless. Avoid Arlo if you want to use their cameras for security.

    The device was easy to install. The included angle bracket was great. I like the smaller overall device size and the rounded shape. The video and audio quality are very good both day and night. The alert labels for person, animal, and vehicle are very accurate. I like the time the video library is available. I would definitely recommend.

    Our doorbell worked for the first 60 days and then we changed our wifi password and it stopped working. Been working with Arlo for the past few months to get it to work. They said their hardware is guaranteed for a full year. However, our doorbell apparently is a refurbished one, but now where on the new packaging nor did the price we paid reflect this that is what refurbished. Do not purchase this product from Best Buy.

    I just have to say, the Arlo essential video wired doorbell is absolutely fantastic! It provides me with a complete view of my front deck and my front yard, and the clarity is unbelievable. I can easily see who is at my door, day or night. I am beyond thrilled with this video doorbell, and I'm so impressed that I've purchased two more for my side and rear doors. It's like having my own personal security system, and I couldn't be happier with the peace of mind it brings.

    The good: excellent field of view, app is easy to use, good night vision, picks up people walking up very well. The bad: motion detection sometimes picks up the wasps that have taken up residence in our shutters, sometimes the app is laggy in connecting to the camera.

    Worst doorbell ever keeps disconnecting from internet. If you log out does not recognize email or password. Too late to return or I would hopefully I could sell it to someone on eBay or hit it with a hammer it sucks. I know phone number to contact anyone at Arlo to help you with any of these issues.

    Love This Product!

    Really love this video doorbell. Originally purchased the Ring but when the installer arrived he felt the Arlo would be a better choice for my purposes. I went with what he recommended and am very glad I did. I had read reviews that there were issues with the Ring staying connected and not being very user-friendly which I found concerning. The Arlo App is very user-friendly just as the installer had said it would be. The picture is very clear and shows a good way down the street. Daytime is in color. I have noticed that late night time reverts to black-and-white. This is not a dealbreaker for me because it is brighter in black and white when it is so dark outside. It reverts back to color close to dawn... I have noticed that video of anyone coming to my door begins before the person is even in sight which I found impressive. People coming to my door are very clear. I am very happy with this purchase and am glad I chose the Arlo. This product helps to take the worry out of package delivery. Thank you Arlo and Best Buy!

    Overall I am very satisfied with the Arlo doorbell and system. It seems to be great at detecting people, movement, packages, animals, etc (got a FANTASTIC clip of a bobcat marching across the driveway the very first night!!!) My only complaint is settings are not all as straight-forward and user-friendly as I think it could be. Also, I had no idea it had an "answering machine" that automatically played if I didn't answer, nor could I easily figure out how to disable it! The delay also can be quite long.

    I did a lot of research before I purchased the Arlo video doorbell. I chose Arlo because of privacy concerns with some other brand choices and Arlo’s storage and use of data minimized my concerns. The doorbell has an excellent camera and microphone and I love getting video notifications on my Apple Watch whenever someone comes to the front door.The doorbell was very easy to install. I actually did the whole thing without looking at the directions, which was a mistake. It turns out you want the wires in the bottom part of the doorbell, rather than centered!The doorbell cover comes with an option to have it angled, which is what I chose. This allowed the camera to pick up the whole walkway to the door, rather than having the camera image blocked by the brick wall. Arlo’s engineers thought of everything!I have been so pleased with the Arlo app and doorbell that I plan on purchasing the floodlight security cameras and putting them around the house.

    I'm very disappointed. I bought 2. One for my house and the other for my elderly mom. After a few weeks with mine installed it was no longer working correctly. The doorbell stopped working and i could no longer see videos. I never installed the one for my mom since it was pointless and I can no longer return it

    One more piece of security

    Since all of the information about unboxing and setting up have already been fully discussed elsewhere I'll get to the point. The picture is beautiful. It appears to be giving us timely notifications when someone approaches. I have the sensitivity at 60. I'm going to increase it incrementally. I don't want it going off every time someone walks down the street. It's a good feeling to be able to see someone approaching the front door before they knock or ring and because the video is saved in the library it can be copied and stored for legal use if necessary. I highly recommend it. I have 6 other cameras that are armed on a schedule during the night as we are home most of the time. Otherwise, we also have an ADT security system installed.
