I'm confused by all the raving reviews for Arlo. Positives: easy to install with the step by step instructions. Here is where that ends. For reference: Home setup - mesh internet system with 1GB internet speeds. The doorbell is also within 15 feet of the nearest router. Video Quality: People at the door, you can see their faces clearly. However, if a car pulls up on the driveway (20 feet or so from the doorbell), you can't read the license plate. it really should be better than that. Activity zones/sensitivity: (Home reference: Front Door is 50-60 feet to the street). Activity zones don't work! We set activity zones to not even consider the street in front, yet every car that drove by was a notification. We then decrease the sensitivity to the lowest possible setting. This also changed nothing. Every shadow, every movement outside the activity zone, was captured. There are so many notifications that it is no longer useful. Video/Voice on Doorbell: If you are viewing the camera in the app when someone comes up, the moment they push the doorbell, the feed is cut. You won't get the feed back for 20+ seconds at best. If you choose to answer via your phone, it is delayed by 10 seconds or so on average. It is not possible to have a conversation. Durability: We have had ours for 2 years. It recently just stopped working. For reference, we are not in an extreme climate. The doorbell is shielded as it is a covered front porch. Moisture is not an issue, as we are in a dry climate, and it is not directly in the sunlight. Customer Service: They are not great... I followed their online troubleshooting steps, including testing the voltage and making sure power is getting to the doorbell. The customer service agent just kept telling me to repeat the steps. When I said, I have done this already, please help me out, this individual disconnected and I had to start the process all over again. Overall, while it is enough for the sake of having a smart doorbell, it is not one I would recommend. We have moved on to a different brand. Hope this helps.

It was time for me to upgrade my doorbell from a simple chime to one that can also keep an eye on things while I’m away. I already had Arlo cams so I looked into their new doorbell. I was able to access my mechanical chime and it was simple to set that up following the instructions on the app. The doorbell ringer itself was simple to setup and once connected, it found my mesh network right away! The video and sound quality are very good and at night, the button will light up in a dotted halo as someone approaches. I’m very satisfied with my new security doorbell.

I am done with this crappy product. I was going to try again' but after seeing the reviews on the Arlo site I'm going to beat this product with a hammer and send the pictures.

I received my arlo wired video doorbell today from the best buy tech insider network free of charge to test and give my unbiased opinion on. To begin with, you get a small quick guide book that tells you to download the app or check out the website for instructions. I watched the website first, but ultimately if you download the app and run the steps of it, it takes you through what you need. It is easy enough, and I've installed many doorbells and extenders, so this was not an issue, but I still miss physical books to just open up and work off of. Installation was easy, add the power unit to the chime, and switch out my doorbell button. I had to modify the mount a bit because my siding tilts back at the top, so I added spacers to secure it level. Connecting to wifi through the instructions was easy, only thing I did wrong the first time was I accidentally mis-selected no manual doorbell, so my inside chime did not ring. I had to uninstall and re-add the doorbell and it fixed it right away. As for the use of the app, I have it on my wife's apple and on my android phone, both work the same, pretty intuitive. video quality is good, motion sensing in my door area is about 10-12 feet away, basically just onto my porch. The camera view/angle is fairly good. There is a significant delay (5 second or more) between taking and message going to the doorbell, but it works. I did this on wifi, while in the house see how it worked as well as by data, all worked well. I called my wife on it while she was out and about to make sure it worked. There are canned messages you can also send in a computer generated voice, which is ok if you want to use them. You get 3 months free service for video storage and such, and when that is over, I will see if I continue, it is very reasonably priced. Compared to other doorbells my friends have, this is very similar and I think is a good choice, price very comparable. I have no complaints, does what it says, no reason to ding it stars. I give it a five of five. I recommend this as an option when looking for a video doorbell.

While I have been an Arlo customer for quite some time, I've always wondered why they didn't originally make a video doorbell. Well I guess they just wanted to get it right and the new Arlo video doorbell does exactly that. By having a square ratio, I can see the entire outside of my door and paired through motion with my Arlo Pro 2, I get multiple angles of recordings. I even have the ability to pair it with my existing Arlo Chime. I love the fact that I even still get videos in color at night. My Arlo Pro 2's do not do that.

I love the arlo doorbell camera, it was really easy to setup and is very configurable. With COVID surging again, it’s nice to be able to tell delivery people where to drop the package. I also really like the geofencing capability that allows me to set it to only notify me when I’m not at home. The ability to limit the field of coverage is great, before I changed it, it was recording every car that drove by on the street in front of my house and now it just covers my driveway. Great product!

Won't work with Wi-Fi 6. Customer support is impossible at Arlo. Glad my Geek Squad agent fixed the problem with a Ring doorbell.

It was a piece of dog do do. I could never get it to pair with my phone. Needless to say, I returned it and got me a Ring doorbell.

It wi not record motion. It will only record when someone rings the doorbell. So someone can steal a package off the porch and it won’t record it.

The install with step by step video directions is super simple and anyone can do it with just a few simple tools. I found the field of view to be wider than anticipated and glad I installed the angle adapter. Even then, it still shows a lot of the wall next to it, but covers the entire porch very well. Color is great during the daytime and infrared gives sharp images in near total darkness, but no color at night. Alerts are nearly instant when motion is detected.

Did not like that I was unable to get this device connected to WIFI even after talking to product customer support.

It takes great video and audio. Both very clear. Super easy to setup. The app makes it very easy. I wish it continuously recorded at least a day at a time, but it does a good job of detecting people when the come to the door. There’s probably about a 10 second delay before it notifys you of someone at the door but that’s expected. Overall I’m happy with it.

Does not ring interior doorbell. Worked with support and was still unable to get it working. Bought a ring and worked perfectly.

I had the app for other camera so I just had to open the app and add device. The instructions came up and the install was easy. I did not know that there was a part to install with my chime but that was easy, too. There is no room for bulky wires between the plate and the doorbell so be sure to install as suggested. The picture is clear and nice that I can dial down the sensitivity for the cats that stroll by.

I recently got this Arlo Video Doorbell and I love this product. It has a sleek design. It covers a good area infont of our door and we can easily monitor who is standing outside. It also notifies us when there is a movement . My kids love this and they are planning to spot Santa using this doorbell :)

Just installed my new arlo video doorbell last week. Love it, can't wait to startle my mom when she rings the doorbell on Thanksgiving and I talk to her thru the doorbell! It really is easy to install and nice to see who is at the door and what activity is there. Had to remember to turn it off when i was putting up the Xmas lights, kept recording me near front door as activity! We are very happy with the purchase

We purchased this video Doorbell after trying a Ring, the setup on the ring was very difficult and after it was finally connected, it was still having issues. We returned it and got an Arlo... the best decision ever!, easy setup and wow! what a picture. There is no comparison between the 2. The second night we had it - it captured a person checking our neighbors mailboxes at 1:30 am. Thanks Arlo!

The overall ease of the installation wasn't expected. Quick and easy install, user friendly and all the options you could imagine. I have friends with other cameras, and we have done a side by side comparison and the Arlo doorbell cam has much better quality. Also, the audio is clear and doesn't sound like a drive thru speaker. I recommend this to anyone. This is money well spent. I really couldn't be more pleased.

The doorbell provides a great picture and was fairly easy to install. I would have liked to have received the manual with the kit though. I had to call customer service after the unit was installed to fix a problem with smearing and pixelating of the image. They were able to accomplish a reboot and fixed the problem.

I love this doorbell, it was a much cheaper option than the google hello. I love all the features of this and don’t even mind paying the extra $3 to have the additional features. The only thing is that it does have some delay when calling. I’ve gotten it 2 seconds after the doorbell or even 2 minutes after.
