I have really enjoyed my Arlo Video Doorbell so far. I love that I get notifications on my phone when the bell is rung and can see who is outside.

I bought this to replace a Ring that had kicked the bucket after a few years of service. The physical installation wasn't difficult, but the software setup and device performance afterward was a nightmare. The first time I set it up, it started to install a firmware update, but in the midst of that I received a motion detection notification (from me standing in front of the doorbell) and clicking on that to dismiss it inadvertently refreshed the page and caused the firmware update to fail. Installation couldn't continue so I had to deactivate and re-add the device. The 2nd go around I "successfully" set up the device and it was ringing my mechanical chime and detecting motion, but the live view couldn't connect. I contacted support and we tried resetting my router and then factory resetting the Arlo. 3rd setup attempt. Live view works but the button wouldn't ring my chime. Before attempt 4 I redid the wiring to make sure everything was well connected. I also waited to give the Arlo's internal battery more time to charge (even the wired model is just trickle charging an internal battery). After another factory reset the chime is ringing with every button press and the live view works. Success? No, the live view cut stopped working after 10 minutes and after resetting my Wi-Fi again the Arlo went offline and wouldn't reconnect. Even when it was working the audio quality was poor and there was a substantial delay in the video call. Attempts 5+: Arlo couldn't be found after scanning the QR code to connect it to Wi-Fi. Once that happens I couldn't even try again without factory resetting because it will no longer scan the QR code on subsequent attempts. Every time you do this you have to swipe through the entire step by step physical installation instructions that you already completed. The notifications preferences also reset to the default most active, most annoying. So while you tinker with the thing you will be flooded with motion detection emails. I suspect the issues I encountered were a combination of it not getting the power it wanted at first or the Wi-Fi signal strength it wanted. But the Ring Pro it was supposed to replace never had those issues. I'm disappointed as I really wanted to like this thing.

Upgraded from Ring and will never go back. Love my arlo doorbell!! camera vision is excellent and less missed activity.

Love this doorbell. We used this to replace our ring doorbell. Ring gave us nothing but issues. Arlo is the way to go!

Clarity wasn't bad, but limited view, couldn't see my driveway with it. I had Vi8int before and now have ring and they both show it. Also I wasn't getting alerts. Tried adjusting settings, but would not alert my phone. Again, both of the other too do alert. For just a basic doorbell camera, it would be fine.

excellent picture and sound quality. there is a warning from time to time with being disconnected from the internet. Overall, very satisfied.

Install was tricky despite having the appropriate transformer and wiring. Support was unable to help stating my wired chime was too complicated. I eventually consulted Reddit and figured it out but it was a pain. Now that it is installed it works well. 2 way communication is spotty and someone when answering the bell all I hear is static.

Wasn't sure about this at first since we had a functioning Nest doorbell. Wanted to consolidate to trim one monthly subscription fee and glad we did. Wish they had a few features like notifications to two phone numbers, but camera view quality and current feature set are excellent.

I like the fact that it fit in the small space by my door. I’m satisfied

Awesome so far!! Love the flexibility that the Arlo video doorbell. It might be a good time to switch all or my security cameras to Arlo cameras.

What a headache to say the least. When I first installed it, it worked beautifully. After 24 hours it just stopped working. Changed the password on my WiFi and couldn’t get the doorbell to connect. I tried everything. In my experience I don’t think it’s worth all the hype!

Bought this because of the extra field of range. 100 percent would recommend I work in the industry and have used ring and google but broth can compare.

I felt that this doorbell had excellent detection of animals/people/motion etc. however, although the specs are excellent, I found that the motion quality in the video was pretty bad. typically, i would find pixilation on both slow and fast moving people/animals/things. I was told that it was due to poor internet connection, but i have a top-of-the-line mesh router. I was able to try both the google and ring doorbells and had ABSOLUTELY no issues whatsoever. I have read and heard from multiple sources that this is quite common with arlo products. in addition, their support was iffy at best. not great. I wanted to like it, but its honestly not great.

This is really an excellent doorbell/camera. It gives a very clear video of people, animals, and vehicles and identifies which of these is activating the camera. Videos are saved for a very good period of time and can be saved permanently if necessary. I certainly recommend this product.

Arlo doorbell is the best ever, especially with the 360 view which allows me to see the whole front door area and notify me when delivery arrives. Thank you!

I bought this and haven’t even been able to use it yet because what was supposed to be an easy install and set up is now requiring an electrician to come out because our doorbell doesn’t have enough voltage to power the arlo doorbell. I was super excited to get this and I hope it’s a quick easy (and cheap) fix to get help installing it professionally.

I have never owned a video doorbell. I chose Arlo because i have the Arlo security cameras. I found it easy to install, easy to use and good video quality.

Fine product and better than Nest in my opinion. Only bummer is that it needs to have plugged into power!

Not the best doorbell camera, but serves it's purpose. In my opinion the Ring's video quality is a little better, but I already had an Arlo account for my other camera's so went with this one for integration. It's pretty good, but when someone rings, the video/audio feed is pretty laggy.
