    This thing is CLEAR, loud, great audio and video in day and night, and the battery life is incredible. This is a great video doorbell to own. The picture and voice and both clear both at day and night. The doorbell lets you set different zones to get alerts to know what is important to you. A must have for all households.

    The video quality is good but it loads slow or not at all when connecting to a live video. Now that temperatures have reached 20's-30's the camera doesnt work at all

    Improvement over audio doorbell

    Due to the the previous home owner ripping out the original door wiring I had to settle for the audio door bell with a camera until the wire free video door bell became an option. It was easy to setup and install. Works great. The only thing that I didn’t expect was how thick it is. I am slightly worried about moisture entering through the battery compartment since it’s not sealed like the cameras and lights are.

    SETUP Setup was really easy. The app leads you through the entire process of installing it whether it be wirelessly or hard-wired, which the latter is what I use. I'm no stranger to DIY things but the instructions were so clear I feel even the least savvy people could do it. I did add washers to the screws before putting them in however as I felt there wasn't enough contact to the backplate. I just happen to have spares as none were provided so I do feel that is something they could add to the kit. CAMERA/DEVICE I'm currently replacing a generation 1 competitor's device. Considering that, the video quality is a vast improvement for me. It has a large, square ratio view with a crisp picture which remains true even at night. The square ratio allows it to view the ground so it can alert you to packages (with Arlo Smart). While it was physically bigger than I expected it still has a much sleeker look than my current device and it looks nice. Unlike the competitor's device there is no sound outside when pressing the doorbell. I had mine turned off anyway so this was perfectly fine for me but for those who are also changing to this brand and liked having that feature in the other, the Arlo Video Doorbell does not have it at the time of this review. The "call" to your mobile device when the button is pressed is really convenient to those who use the talk feature often. I personally never use my doorbell to speak but I tried it out with my wife for the purpose of this review. I was impressed with the audio quality. It was very clear and both me and my wife could hear each other and carry on a conversation without any problems or delay. I also love the pre-made messages you can play for the visitor if you don't want to say anything yourself. I may just use them for those insistent solicitors that keep returning and don't accept the lack of answer each time as a no. ALEXA Alexa (I have an Echo Show 8) has issues with my command to "show me front door" which only worked sometimes. The voice notifications that "motion was detected" worked immediately after setup and continues to work without a hitch, however. But I do find there is a delay which the reason I suspect is below. Currently there is no support to disarm your doorbell if needed, either. Hopefully these things can be fixed in time. DOWNSIDES The one thing I really miss is with the competitor device, I knew exactly which camera detected motion because I had it soley for the doorbell and then I also have Arlo for my regular cameras. So my popup and sound notifications told me right away where it was coming from. Now it's the same notification icon and sound so I have to physically pick up my phone and go through each alert to see where it came from. I wish they would add a feature to separate the notifications of the Doorbell and alternative camera devices so by sound alone I knew where it was. When the doorbell is pushed it uses your current ringtone and I wish there was a way to make that different, too. I'm also disappointed I can't connect the device to my base station. I feel like a big part of the reliability I've always had with Arlo is since everything was connected to the hub it maintained a good connection with my router. I found my notifications after motion detected by the Doorbell were delayed in getting to me. I have a great connection in my house and I don't have this problem with the other outdoor cameras connected to the hub thus it makes me suspect this being the issue. Then of course there is the fact you can't use local storage either. Maybe one day they will update this? PROS: - Large, clear view - "Call" feature upon button press with pre-set messages option. - "Voicemail" feature for "missed" calls (can be turned off entirely if you wish, also a plus!) CONS: - No base station connection (no local storage) - No separate notifications from regular cameras - Potential delays/issues with your assistant devices

    Terrible product and service. Doorbell goes offline everyday. Now it will no longer reset. No customer service unless you subscribe. Awful experience

    There are many things that I like about the Arlo doorbell but also many things that drive me crazy. I like the wireless feature, great camera w/wide viewing angle, clear 2 way communication, extremely easy setup, small & compact size as well as the battery life. Now the things that drive me nuts are this is NOT functional with Apple, whaaaat, forced into a subscription or it is "essentially" useless, will NOT connect to a 5 ghz Wifi connection, only 2.4 ghz, will constantly have your phone ringing with notifications even when you dial down the sensitivity. The fact that this is not compatible with Apple Homekit is the deal breaker for me, everything in & outside of my home is automated & will work seamlessly with Apple & to have a single item that does not just does not work for me.

    Arlo Wire Free Doorbell Ring

    So I can honestly say the doorbell works very well and batter last for weeks. I stay on a corner house and traffic is normal and the battery life is very good. Video quality is very nice and clear. The volume is clear and loud. I am very satisfied. I even brought two Arlo essential cameras with spot lights. Which are perfect.

    easy to use and installed, clear video quality, finally a great wire-free doorbell that worth buying, got other wire-free doorbell from other company before, but nothing can compare to the quality from Arlo. 10/10 will recommend to others to use this doorbell and join the Arlo family .

    It worked in the first charge! I’ve charged the battery twice, it shows the green light but then the doorbell shows it’s not charged and no longer works! ☹️

    It keeps falling offline and I have the smart hub and it won't stay on the smart hub. Waste of money

    Does what it is supposed to do

    The wire-free doorbell does exactly what it is supposed to do. Battery is beefy, but not so big that it makes the device look bulky. Comes in white or black, which is nice to have options that match your home finish. Setup is easy in the Arlo app. Notifications are really fast. WiFi connectivity is suprisingly strong. I have a WiFi Mesh system and the mesh router closest to this device needed an update. The device connected to the primary router with good signal, through several stone walls, to the router which is a good 60 yards away. Definitely look at adding a CHIME to your purchase. Honestly, I should have purchased a second Chime to go with my doorbell. I can take the Chime out to the back porch if I am BBQ'ing or hanging out by the firepit. In a perfect world, I would have put a Chime out back and one in the house too. This device is great, and it really shows how much better Arlo is getting over-time.

    Beware, they have NO customer service! I received the doorbell and tried to install it. It would not connect. I called my Internet provider for support and it still wouldn’t connect. I tried to connect Arlo support and they only have virtual customer service which is useless! Returning this doorbell!

    We bought this with high expectations but it was a let down. It didn't work the way its been bragged up to. We ended up returning it and using Ring doorbell.

    Loaded w/ Useful Features & Hecka Easy Set-Up

    Super easy set-up. Just download the app and follow thru step by step watching the videos. I haven’t even tested all the features yet, like schedules. I’m excited how about how few “false” alarms and unwanted motion-detection notifications I get on my phone now compared to my old video doorbell. Plus there’s MUCH longer video recording options than my previous (including continue recording until motion no longer detected) Annnnd people can record a video message if you’re not home (or you’re avoiding coming to the door)!! Oh and if you get the chime, it’s a built-in siren to scare off intruders! (Highly recommend getting the chime!) Seriously, this doorbell has ALL the features we want & need!

    This is my first doorbell cam and it's been a great experience. The picture and video quality on this unit is exceptional and you won't be sorry with your purchase. Had a few small connectivity issues but it was all due to my own ignorance. Called service and had no problems reaching a legit person who was quickly able to resolve my issue. I now have 1 doorbell, 3 cameras and the security which I am very pleased with. Highly recommend. Detection is on point as well with many other great features.

    Best buy will lie to you to get you to make a purchase. With them knowing they dont plan on hororing it within a reasonable amount of time. Then theyll call you the day before delivery and say they dont have your merchandise. Then on top of that, theyll say you have to call the next day to make sure the refund works. I gotta search for my refund, but yet you got the money right away when i paid. Absolutely ridiculous
