    Waste of four days on a DOA unit

    Wasted four days with this doorbell and finally giving up. Got it connected to my network and phone, but it wouldn’t start recording until people were halfway through the frame. Contacted support and they had me up the detection sensitivity to 100% and that made it worse. Now all I was getting were the backsides of people. They had me hard reset it and then it wouldn’t connect to my phone or wireless network again after multiple tries. Obviously it was bad from the factory. When it was “working” though, there was a 10-12 second delay before it would stream the video to my phone, so forget about seeing who was at your front door immediately. I’m on a 1Gbps connection with a full Aruba Instant-On network, so I had a ton of bandwidth. I wouldn’t waste your time.

    I have tried several different ways to connect this camera to the Wi-Fi… I have even called in the cable company to get it connected and it still won’t connect. I am going to return it. It was the worse purchase I have made yet.

    Took some time to figure it out the app to help you set it up sucks (use YouTube) but after I set it up super great only thing is it has about 8 seconds of delay at any given time no matter where I am so not very safe in that regard but the video is pretty good. meh its ok.

    Issues getting it to read QR code when I reset the device. Arlo should really give more options for setting up. Superior to Nest doorbell camera tht I have now. Better picture and viewing angles. Might give this another try, but its hard when I know setup can be almost impossible if something acts up.

    Calling this hunk of scrap a "video doorbell" is incredibly charitable. It has only ever worked as intended one time, shortly after its installation. Whenever someone rings it now, the video won't appear, or I'll get an error that it is offline. The point of a video doorbell is to be able to see and possibly communicate with the person who rings it, and in that regard this product is an absolute failure. It is well within range of my WiFi router, and the battery has been replaced multiple times to try and remedy the issue, but to no avail. I am sorry to say that arlo products are trash, and it will be a cold day in hell before I ever purchase another one.
