Battery life much shorter than advertised

2.4GHz only

I just saved you 3 hours of trying to make it work, it won’t. Maybe it’s partly Spectrums fault, maybe it’s mine, I don’t know.

Wireless isn’t the best idea

Ended up just getting a wired one with HomeKit support at a same price.

Video doorbell

Not worth it for city homes

We live in a stone row home and be warned if you have stone, you technically can’t even put this on unless it’s completely flat. Arlo tech support told us it’s compatible with stone if you first drill a piece of wood into the stone then mount the Arlo on the wood. It disconnects weekly. Somehow it’s when we need it most. Arlo tech support says to just disconnect and reset it. You will lose all your saved video, which doesn’t make sense but here we are. Arlo tech support is very much so not solution oriented. The lens on our camera broke out of nowhere but apparently the lens isn’t considered a “part” so their gracious solution was a 40% discount to purchase the exact same product. There is a great delay from when someone rings the doorbell and the app notices it. We have WiFi boosters and such; still poor quality. The battery life is crap. I don’t know what they mean by 6 months… maybe if it doesn’t get used at all during that time. We live in a suburban area on a mildly busy road and have to charge the battery every 3 days. Not sure what’s draining the battery though since the camera doesn’t even pick up someone waving 6 inches in front of it. It will catch leaves blowing in the wind all afternoon but not someone trying to steal from a car in the middle of its camera site. Long story short: don’t waste the money.

Needs geofencing and longer battery life

Not My Cup of Tea

This the same reason I returned the Ring one. I am not happy at all at the deception. I was told it does not require a subscription to use at all. Unless I instantly click the notification, the video is gone. This is now the most expensive paperweight I own. And one more bad thing to note, the quick access on / off feature turns this on and off too. Why have a doorbell if it’s turned off?
