    Super comparable to the ring doorbell. Reasonable subscription prices and brings so much peace of mind to my home when it comes to security. The nice difference between Arlo and ring is the choice of doorbell sounds! Love it so far

    The app could not connect to or find the doorbell. I tried to reset the doorbell despite not being able to connect it, and the same problems occurred with the app and doorbell. The app would not even recognize my mobile device. I am disappointed because I've watched for Arlo to come out with a device like this for years, and Arlo is supposed to be top of the line. Back to searching for the perfect doorbell.

    It will not connect to my Internet

    I have T-Mobile 5g home Internet and unfortunately it doesn't connect to the network. I was very excited about this yhis camera but it has turn into a very stressful unpleasant experience. Will be returning it for a ring version

    We had some packages stolen from our house recently so we got this doorbell. The view is so wide that we can see the whole yard as well as our cars. Definitely feeling more safe now. My parents even bought one after seeing ours.

    I bough this wired free version of the door bell because I initially bought the wired one and I had to change my transformer to have it to work. But this wire free was the solution to our need!

    Horrible Experience with Arlo

    This has been an abysmally horrible product and I don’t think that’s an understatement. From my experience with the product itself, to the customer service, to the resolution/return process, it has been painful to say the least. While there was clearly a lot of hype surrounding this “wire-free” doorbell, I don’t think it was at all ready for prime time. Abysmal Battery Life This is perhaps my largest complaint. This thing claims to have approximately 6 months of battery on one charge — laughable. In over 3 months of ownership, I have had to charge it every 3 weeks or so. I contacted customer service to try and find ways to minimize battery depletion, but that was another headache altogether. Every response I received from customer service led to a different resolution with a different person. Every. Single. Time. And despite minimizing the camera resolution and playing with the modes and notifications, I could not find an ideal solution that didn’t absolutely drain the battery. Unacceptable Lag/Delay on Live Feed This is another deal breaker for me. Every time I open the app to check the live feed or respond to the doorbell, I have to wait nearly 45 seconds to a minute, to be able to pull the live feed. I have incredibly fast internet, and the doorbell isn’t that far from the router, so this lag is just unacceptable. It is essentially useless anytime I need to look at something in real-time. No Continuous Video Recording (CVR) I can’t really knock Arlo for this because it doesn’t claim to have the feature but how is it that this can’t run continuous video recording? I’d imagine that it’s due to the fact that it’d be a huge hit on battery life. To me that kinda defeats the purpose of having a doorbell camera that you’d want to use to go back and find some footage. Unfortunately, the camera mode has to be set up just right and capture movement based on the settings you establish in the hopes that it recorded it. Customer Service/Returns As I mentioned earlier, customer service has been unhelpful. When I initially expressed my concerns, responses were somewhat adequate. But the more I communicated with customer service, the more I realized I wasn’t going to resolve my issues. By the time I was at my wit’s end, it was too late to return as the return window had already passed. I couldn’t escalate the issue at all, because every attempt would just prompt another response from another person who provided little to no substantive and useful feedback. To add to that, the only way I can receive a replacement is if I return the product FIRST. Then I will be able to receive a replacement. And despite being “defective” based on customer service’s resolution, I am unable to receive a refund. Extremely frustrating. I really wanted to like this product. I can definitely say that the product quality is top notch. The UI of the Arlo app is decent, and being able to answer doorbell rings like a phone call is a nice touch. Despite all that, I think for all the reasons I mentioned above, this product is simply not worth the money. I will likely just stick with Nest as I have all my other cameras invested in the Nest ecosystem. My suggestion is if you’re going to go with a wireless camera, wait for a better product or just save yourself the headache and hardwire your setup from the get-go.

    Video recordings never worked, always distorted. Customer service admitted it was defective and offered 30% off purchasing a new one. I’ll buy something else instead.

    Low quality video with extreme delay.

    We have had Arlo now for 2 years and aside from being a deterrent, its functionality is poor. I am shocked to see so many 5 star reviews. Activity zones and sensitivity settings don't work: We've tried adding activity zones, but they simply don't work. We adjusted the sensitivity... even at the lowest setting, everything is picked up. Unfortunately, what that means is every car that passes is a notification, every wind gust is a notification. We live in a neighborhood (not on a Main Street) and it still translates to 200-300 notifications a day. It is so hard to screen anything of importance. While it is all stored and we will have a record, it would be nice if we could actually set activity zones. Unacceptable DELAY time: When someone rings the doorbell, it rings to our phones. Answering is at least a 10 second delay. Speaking to the camera is an additional 5-7 second delay. Basically it is not practical or useful to try to communicate at all. Even worse, if you were viewing the camera and someone pushes the doorbell, it cuts the video feed and results in a 20+ second delay before I can view the camera again. Result, YOU CAN'T SEE WHO IS AT THE DOOR while they are at the door. Video quality: Blurry at best! While you can generally see the person's face who walks up to the door, you cannot even make out a business logo on their shirt. Additionally, we have had cars pull into our driveway (often to turn around), and you cannot see the license plate. If you do not know cars well, you will not be able to tell the make and model. Overall the video is low quality. In case someone is wondering, our house is setup with a very new mesh WIFI with Gig speed, so it is not a connectivity issue. This doorbell for reference is less than 10 feet away from the primary router.
