    Tried installing to an Arlo base station. No luck. Arlo’s customer service model is through on-line chat only unless you subscribe to their monthly fee. Waited over TWO hours just to try resolving doorbell connectivity issue only to be told to read online articles on how to possibly resolve. Returning back to the store.

    crap. dont use Covid as an excuse either Arlo

    Well, I have 4 Arlo spotlights that I recently installed, 4 Arlo Pro4 spotlight cameras I installed 3 days after, and then comes the Arlo wireless doorbell camera. It will not be found during setup. Ive uninstalled and installed the Arlo app and reinstalled ALL the other cameras and the wireless doorbell still will not be found. I reset my phone and tried again. Ive reset my router and modem and tried again. Ive double, triple, quadruple checked to make sure im on the right wifi which the the other cameras being installed confirms this isnt the problem. I reset the doorbell camera with the metal key manually and that didnt work. I tried installing it on Saturday but the doorbell is "out of the office and will return to work when it feels like it or never". I tried installing today but it doesnt work Sundays like Chic Fil A. I ran a speedtest to make sure my wifi isnt running like crap...its not, so thats not the problem. I made sure I was within staring contest distance of my modem and router to make sure I was within maximum efficient signal range, so thats not the problem. I went on the Arlo community forum and apparently the wireless doorbell has numerous complaints about this same problem....okay so its the only piece of garbage Arlo sells amongst their line up of products. How about Arlo does a recall on all their doorbells and gets the software engineers, product development team, etc to scrap the design and start from scratch.

    Android users beware right now

    As of right now, 12/3/2022, this cannot be set up with an android device. The error I am getting is a generic "internal error" when trying to name the camera in the app. After a factory reset, multiple phones, multiple accounts tried we contacted Arlo support. They confirmed this was an android specific issue and that they are working on it. However, this cannot be set up through their website either so evidently you would need an iOS device. I don't have any, so no luck for us. App reviews since October have not been very good and mention this issue, and googling the issue brings up results from over a year ago. I am going to have to return this item unfortunately as it is completely useless to me since I can't even get it set up. I don't know if this happens for everyone with an android device but if you are buying this in the 2022 holiday season just beware of this issue.

    Buy a Ring instead

    You need to create a custom "mode" in the Arlo app to make the doorbell record when when motion is detected. It does not just automatically record. "Disarmed" mode does not allow users to add the doorbell to record when disarmed. Custom modes don't work with Alexa and IFTTT. When the trial period ended, the option to record is greyed out. Before my trial period ended, it missed packages and did not alert me often enough that I have ordered a Ring. I absolutely don't recommend it.

    DO NOT BUY ANY ARLO PRODUCTS

    These products are not worth the price and are not reliable. They are often offline and lack recordings. Every time you contact them, the last resort will be RMA (return merchandise authorization) and you have to pay for the shipping fee even if you are still under 1 year warranty. Low speaker volume.

    Don't waste your money

    Bought 4 cameras, 2 solar panels and a doorbell. Cameras on solar panels constantly going offline because not connected to AC power source. Now it's $9/month because when I added doorbell I had to Uninstall and reinstall all cameras. Just buy REAL CAMERAS not this cheap garbage.

    arlo products are junk that don't last

    Arlo products are total junk. This product will be dead just a month past the warranty and they will not replace or repair the item at that point. Overpriced junk and horrible customer service. Ring offers better quality and better customer service.

    Missing a lot of videos, not recording at the time you want it. Record sometimes only 1 or 3 seconds even object still moving. Speaker volume very bad.
