I have several Arlo cameras and a base station and thought the Arlo doorbell would be a nice addition to our home security. I purchased the doorbell without considering other brands that would have required yet another online account and app on my phone. In the Box: • Doorbell • Flat mounting plate • Angled mounting plate • Power kit • Release pin • Wall screws and anchors • Wire extensions, wire nuts, and extra screws Setup: The Arlo App takes you step-by-step through the setup process. The “power kit” is installed first. It activates your current doorbell chime once the Arlo doorbell is installed. Replacing my old doorbell was relatively straightforward. My doorbell wires were almost too short, but I managed to connect the Arlo doorbell without the wire extensions provided in the box. Despite having a compatible Arlo base unit, the new doorbell could not find it during setup and I wound up connecting to my home WiFi. The instructions in the App did not mention pressing the button on the base unit prior to (or during) installation. This is likely the cause of my inability to connect to the base station. Once connected via WiFi, online instructions for switching to a base station are cumbersome and require that the doorbell be removed and reset. I opted to keep the WiFi connection as it left an open slot on my base stations for another Arlo device. Function: I and my wife were not prepared for the barrage of notifications we were about to receive! Mowing the lawn, watering the plants, wind blowing the potted plants on the front porch, the garbage truck and other large vehicles driving down the street… My wife got so annoyed by the constant pings that I had to disable notifications on her phone. She still gets the video clips, but doesn’t have to listen to each notification. I still get notifications and am getting used to the 50 to 100 pings on my phone (and watch) every day. After all, what’s the point of having a motion sensing doorbell if you don’t know when it is activated. There is no option to turn the camera off when working outside the house near the front door. I would appreciate a software update to the Arlo App to make this happen. The power kit for the indoor chime is relatively anemic. The chime makes some noise, but not nearly as loud as before. I hear the notifications and see the videos on my phone, but cannot hear the doorbell chime as I used to. Pressing the door bell calls my phone. There are notable delays on both ends of the conversation that make it difficult to communicate in real time. Ignoring the call allows the person at the door to leave a message. The quality of the recorded video and audio is amazing. Overall: Security systems are much like camera equipment. Once you have made an initial investment in the brand, it’s hard to justify moving to another. If you already have security devices from another vendor, this doorbell is not worth switching for. If you don’t presently have any security devices, you should consider all available the systems (including doorbells) and make an informed decision. If you already have Arlo security devices, this doorbell is a nice addition. Just be prepared for the fact that the doorbell camera cannot be turned off and you will likely receive more notifications than you expect.

Even though I have several Arlo cameras, I wasn't sold on the new wired Arlo video doorbell. There's lots of competition, so I felt like I needed to shop around --- so I did. But I kept coming back to the Arlo for several reasons: 1) A wide-angle lens that enables you to see more of the area around your front porch; 2) A competitive price; and 3) A good experience with other Arlo products. After much deliberation, I bought it and it's turned out to be a great decision. Installation was a snap. In fact, I think it took me less than 30 minutes. The doorbell looks great at my front door and it works like a charm. The wired Arlo video doorbell turned out to be a great purchase.

The sound quality is really good. The actual doorbell works good and is real time, not nice delay from sound to pressing of the button. The setup was easy but if you don’t work with electricity often I suggest getting help. The Arlo app is easy to use and the video quality is good. Plenty viewing space angles. I like the lit circles around the button to let the visitor know they are being viewed and recorded. There is a delay in using the inscriptions and talking function. It nothing horrible. Overall this is a good doorbell to use.

Very good video and field of view. Hard wired so it shows a few seconds before motion trigger unlike battery powered cams. Note - use the app for physical installation instructions. The online instructions are not as complete. I had a small issue with the extension wires. The supplied wire nuts are too large to fit between the doorbell and the wall. Might have fit if I had used the angle mount, though. Other than that small issue - easy installation. You have the option of connecting to base station (if you have one) or directly to wifi. Either way, it integrates well with all my other cams (Arlo Q and Pro 3). Recommend use of activity zones to exclude vehicle traffic from motion alerts. Easy to do in the app. A nice feature is the option to have the doorbell call your phone when someone presses the doorbell. You can talk with the person (with a small delay) from anywhere. Nice touch! Happy with purchase - recommended!

Fit right into my already existing arlo system. Was hesitant about installing myself but was super simple to install and sync with the homepage. Has great range and picks up slot of motion which can be good or bad. Great quality picture as well. Satisfied with this purchase

Great audio. Video is clear up close but as far away as the mailbox it is more blurry. There is a slight delay noted when someone rings the bell to when it rings/shows motion detection etc on your phone. Easy to install. Custom service was great. Would recommend.

This camera works great. The video is sharp and even the night vision mode is excellent. We had it up and running in about half an hour and it wasn’t up a month before we had to use it to run off a “porch pirate.” Exactly what we wanted it for. The app is also very nice. It’s easy to use and allows you to save videos and dial 911 from the app if the need should arise.

I was intimidated at the idea of installing the video doorbell myself, but the step-by-step instructions were perfect! No issues. Great color video quality. Looking to add more Arlo cameras around the house.

The wired doorbell was super easy to install. Have an excellent motion detection, distance and night vision to aware us if someone is near our front door, if you can add the wireless camera you will have a excellent protection of your property.

This product is cheaper than a ring doorbell but you wouldn’t know it cause it works perfectly. I had problems with the ring doorbell so I returned it and got this one. I have to tell you this one is way better and easier to install and work. I love it and glad I got it. Thanks Arlo for making a great product at a great price.

The quality of this camera is amazing and has been a great purchase since the day I bought it. I found it easy to set up with the app and to control notifications etc. The price point is perfect and works great for home security as well as just knowing who standing at your front door

Pros: - Very good video quality, night vision and sound quality - Easy to install - View is much better than the Nest doorbell and cheaper too! Cons: - Doesn't work with Apple's HomeKit. - Still captures movements outside the defined Activity Zone

I was comparing this with Nest Hello and decided to go with Arlo for two reasons. The wide coverage with 1 x 1 aspect ratio and the price. The video quality is great and the sound is loud and clear. It's easy to install. It came with an angled bracket but I wish it was adjustable or came with another one that is more angled.

Install wasn't the easiest, definitely had to do some troubleshooting, but once that worked itself out, it's been great. Video quality is great, notifications are almost too great (darn cat that walks by ever night at midnight)! Only thing I would like to see, and maybe its an option is, to not send me a notification when I walk in front of it

It was very easy to install. The setup was ok, it kept failing the firmware update. Took a few times to finally apply it. The video quality and motion detection are really good as well.

I have to say that I was little bit skeptical at first but I have to admit that I 100% satisfied with my decision to pick this brand. At first we were torn between the RING system and the Arlo system but in the end I read many reviews and did my homework before I made the decision to pick the Arlo system. Great quality, ease of use with the app and great quality video. The only thing that I would add is that the video quality is only 1080p, so the one issue that I have is that at night the videos will some times become pixelated when it picks up motion. So do not connect it to a wifi network that supports 4K or 5G.

I have other Arlo cameras in my home, so buying an Arlo doorbell was a no brainer. It was easy to install and set up in my current Arlo was easy as well. It comes with a 3 month subscription to Arlo’s service. I’m still in my free 3 months period, so I don’t know what happens after. I hope that I can just add it to my existing base and treat it as another camera. I am not interested in paying a monthly charge to Arlo . The doorbell and camera work great! When the doorbell is pushed it immediately calls your cell phone so you can talk to the person at the door. Movement also shows up in your Arlo clip library. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 only because I’m not interested in paying a monthly subscription to Arlo .

Easy setup and install into existing doorbell/chime wiring. Added to existing Arlo subscription (7 cameras). Would like to see a little more robust mounting options and perhaps a little less bulk, but otherwise a very good unit. 3-month free trial Premier subscription for the doorbell is of no value to existing subscriber/camera setup, should offer something else for existing customers, like a credit kn their existing subscription, an extra month, or ??? Arlo should offer option for private network / home automation integration that does not require cloud services/ IFTTT for control or monitoring. An api that talks to something like Hubitat or Smartthings would be ideal.

Easy to set up with a functional app and works well with my 2 Arlo Q cameras. My only 2 issues are as follows: - Supposed to come with 3 months of a trial subscription. I have no idea how to redeem or start this. There is no explanation anywhere and when I go to the subscription options, it looks like it would just start billing me immediately. - The device doesn't sit/snap in the mounting bracket as securely as I would like. They supply a small pin that is supposed to be required to release it from the bracket and presumably prevent theft, but I can take it out of the bracket just using my hands with ease. Hopefully it won't get stolen. Otherwise, it works as advertised and has decent picture quality.

I am an ARLO fan. Have been since the beginning and this product simply increases that fanfare. Price is very reasonable for all that you get. The setup was incredibly simple and quick. You may have to drill a hole or two near your existing doorbell or where you want this one. If this will be a new installation, wiring to a doorbell ringer will have to be ran but if you have existing wiring, simply use that it. Connection to your WiFi network through the ARLO router was so simple I almost missed it. The video and audio quality through this device hits a deep homerun. The audio response has absolutely zero lag or hesitation. The video quality is so clear it is like you are standing there. The night time video is just as good but you do lose a little viewing range which should be expected. If you are considering a smart doorbell, I highly recommend this ARLO product.
