Much better than the stock mount.

Makes it easier to replace batteries. Base of camera stays attached to mount and swings down to allow you to insert the battery without moving the camera.

The flaw in this unit is the plastic washer that tightens the camera to the mount. This washer strips and breaks easily. I asked people at Best Buy if there were replacement washers......NO!!!!!
