Video comes in clear as a bell in most instances. Aside from an occasional spider web needing to be dusted off, the visual clarity is really quite good. Very sensitive to just about any traffic going by, including people strolling by, roaming pets, and cars doing u-turns in our cul-de-sac. Sometimes feels too sensitive but leaving it be so as to capture any and all intruders not part of the neighborhood. Battery time-length has been great before needing recharging. Highly recommend this system for security purposes. One of my 3 cameras seems faulty but will examine closer when time permits.

This is a great camera system. Easy to install and get up and running. Will alert on phone if any movement in camera area. Easy to watch and record what is happening. The night vision is ok not great. It will save recording for 30 days or you can save it to a stick. Cost you nothing per month.

I'm loving this camera system. You do have to read the instructions, but after that - so easy to set up! Alerts go straight to my phone, but I can turn off alerts when I let my dogs out. There is a 10-15 second delay on the feed, but not on the alert. The design is sleek and non obvious, the stand is very durable as well. Overall really please with this product.

I had purchased the original Arlo two years ago for my new home but after a few weeks of trial, I decided to return it. As an IT professional I test and setup various wired security cameras for the office & warehouse environment. There were pros & cons to the original Arlo system and I felt the "wire-free" technology was still working out it's kinks and I'd wait another generation before committing to it. With the recent burglary at my parents home and fear for my own home, I decided to take a look at the newly released Arlo Pro. The Arlo Pro like it's predecessor still has quick wire-free deployment where you can drop a camera pretty much anywhere provided you have strong enough WiFi signal. I got the system up and running within an hour of unboxing. You'll likely find yourself doing some trial & error tweaking of settings & camera position in the days/weeks following setup to get the best performance. It still boasts a week of free cloud storage which is better than most on the market. Welcome improvements on the Arlo Pro included better battery technology with extended run time and the ability to plug the unit into the wall to recharge the camera. There is now two way microphone/speaker for communication. There is also a very loud audible alarm that can be emitted from the base station with volume control. The mobile app is now vastly streamlined making configuration more intuitive. There is also geo-fencing (currently in beta-testing at the time of this post) that automatically sets your system into different modes when you are in or out of your home based on your smart phone location. Phone & email notifications are still good. There is now improved WiFi range to allow you to place your cameras farther from the base station. My main issues with the orginal Arlo was the motion detection, WiFi range of base station and video resolution/quality. Most of these I feel are limited to the fact that they are wire-free of a constant power source and the implementation needs to be energy efficient. As mentioned above, the WiFi range is much improved. The video resolution is the same which is not great but I find good enough. The motion detection is slightly improved but still not great. The original was very hit and miss. This is true especially with outdoor cameras that sit in areas that have very contrasty lighting with the sun casting changing shadows throughout the day. You still can't paint areas in the field of view to activate motion to eliminate moving objects like background car traffic or trees that sway in the wind. Overall I feel that the easy of deployment and the improvements have made this a good product for what I need. You need to compare this to other wire-free technology in which the Arlo Pro wins hands down. You can loosely compare this to products like Nest which I use at one of our offices that doesn't have any of the cons I mentioned above. However it also doesn't have the versatility of wire-free deployment as Arlo. In the end, I purchased the 4 camera kit for my parents home and another for my home as well. I will be purchasing more cameras to expand coverage.

The Arlo Pro 4 Camera Wireless Security System is the perfect system for the average home owner. The system is very user friendly. It is very simple to set up and installs without the need to run any wires. The basic package of cloud provided storage for the last 7 days of recordings should be more that adequate for most all homeowners. You can download any of the 10 second recordings that it generates from the motion activated cameras. The motion sensitivity is adjustable for each individual camera. The onboard microphone and speakers allow you to hear the sounds that the camera records if you choose to have them turned on. The speaker allows you to actually broadcast through the camera to anyone in the immediate vicinity. The cameras can be set to record based upon motion detection or sound detection if you so choose.

This Arlo camera kit came with 4 cameras and a base station. Was easy to install and connect to the Arlo hub and to my Smartthings hub. Have a camera on the front porch, back yard, basement and in the main house level. Being battery operated save $$ on installation and allow me to move them as things change. Batteries seem to be holding steady after over a month of use. The porch one is the most active and is at 50% batter power and the others are at 2/3. Can us the motion detectors in the camera to turn on the lights, siren and lock my doors if programed to do so in the Smartthings hub. Thinking of adding the new Pro 2 camera for the streaming. Using the porch one as a door bell / alarm and can talk to the person at the door, with some delay and unlock the door with the Smartthings hub.

This thing was so easy to get going. I have the 4 camera system. Pretty good picture. Sound is awesome. Batteries in high traffic areas are lasting me about a month before I have to recharge. Can't speak highly enough about this system.

This has been a great security solution that was very simple to install. With sensitivity at maximum, we have not missed any activity as noted in other reviews. The batteries have held their charge for a long time, even with our children acting out in front of them to see themselves on video. The app has frozen a couple of times and restarting it resolved the issue. The batteries are showing a charging fault and that seems to be a common problem that I am depending on a call to the support desk to resolve. Otherwise, this has been a great purchase.
