Very easy to install. Batteries seem to last for long time even in cold temp. Sensitivity on motion detection is great. Wish that it would reach out a bit further. Cameras do view a ways out on live stream. I have all 4 outside. I wish that they would have come with 4 each of both set of mounts.

We’ve had the Arlo Pro 2’s for about a month and so far they’ve been great. I previously owned the Nest outdoor security cameras at our previous home. Both have their pro’s and con’s but overall the Arlo is a clear winner. The ability to mount virtually anywhere, without hardwiring, makes for an easy out of the box setup with the ability to scale in the future. Battery life seems to be better than expected and the ability to turn off and on remotely greatly extends time between charges!

This was a nice quick solution to an issue I had. Its still nice and works decent. Recommend in cold places to have a power option to the camera's otherwise sometimes they can die pretty quickly. Overall battery 1-3 months depending on the activity which I find to be really nice!

Super easy set up. This is the 2nd system I've bought and this version is way simpler then the 1st generation of arlo.

The vision is clear but the battery drained so fast. Arlo advertised about 6 months of battery but it is really 3 days and it died after that. Its a trouble when you have it in your roof and you have to climb every 3 days just to recharge it.

Very clean design. Easy to set up, app is slick, though a few things are not intuitively placed. Awesome magnet on the mount for positioning the cameras, but wide angle makes it more useful in close quarters. Still tweaking the motion sensitivity cause it can pick up things 60 feet away. Like this much better than the Amazon cloud cam (sensitivity varies widely) or the Wyze camera (seems to drop offline a lot), and Ring top end doorbell (camera is late to initiate on activity).

    Defective camera

I ended up to have to return the system after spending several hours on the phone with the customer support of Arlo. It turned out that one of the cameras was defective and did not charge properly. In addition, it lost contact with the base station very quickly. Even an update the firmware did not solve this problem. I bought another system from a different place and one of the cameras has the similar issues, It looks like that the batteries in these cameras are not good. If you have an unstable wifi, you will not be able to record anything either because the camera will be disconnected from the base station all the time.

After contacting my WiFi carrier and having a tech come out to my business, it was recommended that I contact the manufacturer of my router so they could manually add security codes. This was too time consuming, so I returned the security system. Disappointed! This unit probably would work fine for home purposes???

I live this item except for its clarity and lag rime. The pictures are not as good as I would have liked making it hard to get a clear picture of what is going on. Also there is a lag time before it starts recording so a lot of time the incident has already happened and all I get is the individual walking away etc.

This item had great reviews when I purchased them but these were not for me. The battery life drained so fast when motion was detected even when I decreased the sensitivity. I took them back and purchased the Nest system which is way better.

    The Preferred Arlo Camera Package

For most people, the 2 camera Arlo camera package with the base unit is the sweet spot. You can have up to 5 cameras on a single base unit with the free service, so 3 more can be added. I added an indoor Q camera, and have been happy with the results. You can speak through the cameras as well as hear, although the volume is a little low. I also purchased two external power adapters, but they aren't necessary, they just add convenience. Having a robust internet/Wi-Fi connection is essential.

I like the cameras but I find it wrong that if you have over five they want you to pay for each camera because that’s all it allows you to register to the base or you can sit here and buy another system so either way the amount each month per camera they want you to pay or buying a whole new system you come out of pocket. Next problem I have I want to put one in my window didn’t want to put it outside and it doesn’t work so I called customer service and see why the motion sensor won’t go off when is directly in the window and they tell me I have to put it outside I don’t see why you’re going to make a product and people can’t put a camera in the own window or It will not work I think you spend this much for these items it should be able to sense and pick up being in a clear window

Theses cameras are a great addition to any smart home. Only on issue that I have found, the ability to have 2way communication through the camera is a bit lack luster. Hard to hear if you are on the camera end. I don't use that feature much so it's not a big issue for me but it may be for some.

We really needed these cameras for security, peace of mind, protection. Lets see, maybe half of 1 out of the 3 is what it gives us if its having a good day. (And yes I’m talking about the security system). We’ve tried different angles, half time it will pick up image, then if it does, barely lasts, always lags & yes I’ve upgraded my internet until I can no further, even had them do the extenders (professionally). Adjust sensitivity, angle, placement & positions…short of handing it to someone when they walk in our driveway and to the door which at times it does not pick up. And as for battery life, my cell phone lasts longer, we purchased the Arlo solar panels too keep them charged. Don’t waste your money there either. One has completely quit working & the other only charges half the time, so we are constantly interchanging 6 batteries & some are climbing extension ladders every 2wks. Well I personally can’t due to medical issues, so when my kids leave for school or are gone for a period of time, I have no idea what I will do. Well, yes I guess I do…have to buy a new system that I pray isn’t as disappointing as this one. I really didn’t have the money to spend on this one but had to have one, unfortunately. Now I guess will have to pay another crazy amount for another kind BUT IT WILL NOT BE ARLO! Another issue that constantly happens is keeping the cameras linked to the home base. At times we will be good for a month or longer. Then at times 1 or 2 will disconnect & be a hassle reconnecting 3 or more times within a day or week. My recommendation as you can tell is reconsider buying, then if you still have just a maybe in your head, reconsider again. If only I could return & get my money back to put towards another system.
