These cameras are ok, but ultimately went with the Blink System. Better picture quality out of the blink system than Arlo.

The setup of a two camera system took less than 15 minutes. Quality of construction and style are excellent. Easy to mount or place out of the box, it has a mount that the cameras magnet adheres to, or by using additional mounting options that are available. NETGEAR is a solid name in networking and has been around (stable) for a long time. HighRes imagery is great for resolution and recognizable images. You can add additional sensors as needed. Can be used with desktop computers, Chromebooks etc. , macOS or Android devices through the well designed Arlo app or through the web interface. The audio alert is ear piercing - I MEAN LOUD! The cameras are easily concealed. The hub that ties every thing together offers multiple cloud storage options along with 2 local usb ports. The cameras use rechargeable batteries that provide power for a long time before needing to be charged. They are suitable for indoor or outdoor use. The cameras are of a true wireless design. I did not experience any dropouts or glitches. This is a premium system in all respects. The Arlo is a truly elegant solution to the security challenge. Crisp video and wide angle coverage make this system viable for home / office - interior or exterior.

Won,t work on Comcast. They want you to pat $15.00 a month to rent their router.was told this is good brand but I coun,t use

I followed all the instructions and setup the account online. After connecting everything, the 1st step is to have the app on your phone or the website try to detect the base station. I tried that and even with the help of Netgear support, could not get the base station to detect. I have a high quality network in the home and I'm a Network Administrator with 20-years of experience. So yes, I'm sure I did everything correctly. I even factory reset the base station as instructed by Netgear support and there was no improvement. So unfortunately I'll be taking this back to the store to get a refund tomorrow. I don't have patience for trying this again. I'll either find some other product or not install a system at all, as I don't want to pay a couple thousand dollars to have power and network wires run all over the house for a wired system.

So let me start off the review by saying that I am REALLY enjoying this system. With any sort of wireless security system, there are 3 things that are really important to me: 1. Ease of setup 2. Performance of device 3. Battery life I will definitely touch on all 3 of those in this review. Setup: - super fast and easy to pair the cameras to the base station. I was literally up and running in less than 10 minutes. - still not a huge fan of the additional base station but does make it very easy to configure and get up and running Camera Performance: - really clear picture (can zoom in and still very clear) - LOVE the viewing angle. Can truly see a lot without having a camera with a motor - sound quality when talking from app to device is very good - the microphone volume is a little low in my opinion, but is ok - feels extremely solid in construction - I am using the record while motion is detected (as opposed to timed recording) and unfortunately, it is not always capturing the continuous video while movement is continuing. Also, there have been a couple times that it did not capture the video at all which was disappointing. Base Station: - very simple to pair cameras - like the ability to add a local USB drive which videos automatically get copied to - I am disappointed that there is no way to access the locally stored USB files without unplugging the usb drive. If I don't have another USB drive to plug in right away, then there may be a gap in the videos captured. Accessories: - though I do like the simplicity of the magnetic mount, I do not like how you can't use the full angle if it is plugged in. I do wish that they would have included in this package one of the taller magnetic stands and one of the simple stands - I was disappointed that they did not include an external charger for the battery. It does not seem to make sense that while I am charging the battery, I may not be able to capture any video. I definitely wish that an external charger was included App: - wish there was a way to store the pictures on the device the app is on and not in the cloud as it takes two steps to take the picture then save the photo to the device - the device name changes did not get pushed/updated correctly on some of the devices that the app is running on (mainly older versions of Android) - app will sometimes freeze with no warning or notification on the screen until I realize that it's not updating anymore - I wish that the same account could be logged in on multiple devices as we have some older phones that we use as monitors, but will switch to our primary phones when walking around. I don't really care for the fact that it kicks you off of the old device if you log on from another one using the same account. I have created multiple accounts and given those accounts access, but seems a little unnecessary. Would be excellent to be able to see and/or manage which devices a user is logged in from. Battery: - I was quite disappointed that these cameras use a proprietary battery that is not easily (or cheap) to replace. I do hope that this battery at least last for a long time (not duration of each charge but battery lifetime) - these proprietary batteries do seem to have a REALLY good battery life for each charge. Time will tell on this one to see how long each charge last as well as how long it will be until I need to replace the battery Other comments: - not sure if this is a device limitation or app issue, but I do wish there was a way to force it to use Night Vision or even better, schedule Night Vision force on times. The reason that I could use this is that I have the camera pointing across my front patio. We do have lights on a timer on our front patio that we have on every night for extra security. However, due to these lights, the area out in front of our patio is very dark. If I could force night vision on when our patio lights go on, I believe we would have a better overall night picture - I do wish that we could access these cameras using a different app (like tinyCam Pro) - as much as I like 7 days free, as cheap as storage is these days it would be awesome if they increased this to 14 days
