    Quick Install - Great Resolution

Setting up was straight forward and quick. My set-up took maybe 30-40 minutes total, including camera installations. The cameras are 100% wire-free because they do have rechargeable Li-ion batteries which are included But you may also hard wire (plug them in) Cameras record in 1080p HD and the results to me are very clear and detailed. They also have night vision, motion sensing and 2-Way Audio and are weather resistant. The base unit has to be plugged into a wall outlet and into your router and also includes a 100+ dB alarm siren which you can activate remotely from anywhere with your phone as long as you've D/L the app...Of course! This system also works with Amazons Alexa and you can also use an Amazon TV fire stick to tell it to show a cameras view onto your TV. Cameras also have a fairly wide viewing angle of about 130 degrees or so and due to my camera placement, I am able to see everything I need to Plus More! You can also set up a local back-up storage for yourself by simply plugging in a USB drive to the base station. Netgear does supply a rolling 7-Days of recording available to you at No Charge...BUT it will only record the Audio & Motion Triggered Situations, But it is still 7 days (rolling) at no charge and is sufficient for most situations in my opinion. You also may opt for paid services including 24/7 complete recording that will store in "the cloud" for up to 60 days (depending on plan) Overall I'll say that this system was easy to set up and provides great quality resolution on replay and advanced options are certainly available which should work out great for many applications. From my experience so far, I would recommend

Arlo Pro 2 (unlike the Arlo Pro) will frequently fall offline on its own. Still occurs when plugged directly into power outlet next to the base unit. Reset multiple times and have all applicable firmware. Consistently falls offline now within’ 24hrs of any reconnect.

Bought 4 Arlo Pro 2 Cameras and doorbell. Camera image was good day & night. The email notification of movement was almost immediate BUT ...HUGE lag time with video and audio feedback. Delay of up to one minute compared to real time. This is of no help if intruder is at your door. It’s ok if you are only wanting to view past history. The poor lag time time was a deal breaker. The audio was garbled and virtually unable to communicate through the system. Returned to store. Will next consider a wired system.

I think there are better options. There is a lag between video and whats actually happening. Like a 5 to 10 second lag. Also its very basic unless subscribe to Arlo's paid subscription to open all other options. I wish I could return this.

Waste of money. You cant set the motion detection unless the camera is plugged into a power supply... kinda defeats the purpose of wifi cameras no? So dumb. Spend the money on nice wired cameras!

Great product bad updates! Multiple cameras have had issues for last few years after an update! 1 constantly records when sun reflects into it and another just records all the time for no reason!

Go with a different brand, battery sucks on these even with the solar charger plugged in. It takes forever to view live images and alot of the time the cameras say they're offline.

The Pro2 seems to consistently have connection issues. Get use to seeing the spinning pinwheel of death as a camera tries to connect, but never does. I suspect the new smaller base stations may have smaller antennas to pick up the cameras.

While I am new to the home security market, I really like this system because it is easy to setup, easy to use, and works well. Below are the pros and cons as I see them. Pros Picture quality. The picture quality is stated at 1080p and most of the time it is very clear. It also has night vision built into the cameras that allows you to see video stream while in the dark. While the video is not like watching a movie in 1080p, it is as good as I expected for a wireless camera. Ease of Setup and Use. The system is very easy to setup and use. I had it up and running in less than an hour and most of the interface on the app was easy to setup. Setting up the interface with Alexa and the Fire Stick was a little more complicated but went as planned. While the app is easy to use, there is a delay before the video will start playing. Only a few seconds but sometimes enough to feel slow. Wireless. I really like that the cameras can be easily moved around without having to plug them in. However, I would also like to point out that the cameras are wireless but not WiFi. In other words, they do not connect to your WiFi system but rather to the Arlo base system. The base system then connects to your WiFi. Activity Zones. The cameras only record when they sense movement. The sensitivity for movement can be set by adding activity zones that focus on movement only in specific areas of the camera, and for particular distances from the camera. I tried setting up these zones but it is unclear whether I was successful. I think I need to watch more recordings to see if they are doing what I set them up for. The zones are easy to setup but it is difficult to stop the cameras from recording such things as a blowing tree branch. You should think of this before you place the camera. Free Storage. While you can record the video snippets on an external USB drive in your house, the Arlo package allows you to store the past 7 days onto the cloud. This is important if your house is broken into and your security camera is stolen. Arlo give you a free subscription to their basic cloud storage. Cons Software. I am hoping that because this product is so new that the software will be upgraded several more times. A few things that I disliked about the software could likely be fixed with upgrades. For example, there is no option to send alerts via text message. The alerts are part of the app and if I leave the app on all the time then the battery on my phone goes dead much quicker. Also, while you can record snippets to your own USB drive, I could not figure out how to record the full video stream to my hard drive. And finally, there is a delay when you want to watch the video stream that feels a little longer than it should. Need to Plugin for Full Functionality. Some of the functionality of the cameras only works when plugged into an electrical outlet. For example, there is a setting that allows you to record 3 seconds before any movement is detected. Because movement is not always detected right away, this is an important feature. Unless the camera is plugged in, you cannot turn on this option. Overall, I still have a lot to learn about this system but I really like it. I also hope NetGear continues to work on the software to make the functionality even better. Assuming the software will be improved, I can give this product a five star rating.

Tech support is basically nonexistent, Apologies for lack of support blaming covid 19, yet several emails a day advertising added equipment plentiful. A tech contact was made late in the evening via chat after one hour hold/wait. Id, tel.#, email address given to chat tech. Connection lost within less than 10 minutes. No tech help or a call back was received. I have been issued at least 15 long case support numbers promising a call back within a day. No such thing has ever been fulfilled. I have spent an equivalent cost of camera system, having full time charging installed, and I am ready to suffer this cost by returning this system to seller.

Purchased this product in April 2018 and it worked fine for the first year (minus minor issues with connectivity here and there). 1 year after purchase the motion sensors stopped working on 2 of the cameras. Tried to reach out to Arlo for assistance after performing multiple troubleshooting attempts myself without any luck. No answer and no follow-up from emails. We are extremely disappointed and will purchase a different Home Security System in the future. I would recommend that anyone taking a chance with these devices purchase the protection plan.

Takes too long to notify when someone is in camera range. I asked for my money back, but BestBuy wouldn’t help because it has been a month since purchase. I was on vacation for part of that time, then had to get someone to install cameras .

This system was exactly what I was looking for, or so I thought, until I took it out of the box. I could not get the base to connect to the internet, it kept flashing an amber light, which according to what I was reading online said the signal was blocked. My internet was working fine and the base was 18 inches away from the router. I tried to contact Arlo support. After 30 minutes of waiting with no response, I gave up. For as much as what their systems cost, they should have someone at the ready for support 24/7.

While the cameras are great the software that makes it all work is riddled with bugs and this company just doesn’t care as the fixes are slow to come. Geofencing is a major feature which detects when you leave the house and arms the cameras. It is broken and has been broken for a while now with no fix in sight as the company does not communicate very well with its customer base. Arlo forums are filled with complaints and angry and frustrated customers. They keep bringing more and more products to market with fixing the software that makes these camera work correctly. Look for yourself in the Arlo forums and you will see. Buyer beware!

I thought these were no good. The video is very laggy and freezes through 1 wall, with a window in it. I returned them and went with a wired system. The signal just wasn’t strong enough to get a decent picture.
