Do not buy this system. The cameras are decent quality, but the app is so glitchy that it’s not worth it. It freezes constantly and won’t even connect half the time.

The cameras clips are very short and you can not continue watching or at least I have not been able to. Maybe you need to pay for a subscription which is ridiculous. I bought a cheaper camera that works better.

The cameras state once fully charged, they last 4 months. They last maybe 3 days before having to recharge. A bit of an inconvenience and not worth the money.

I love not having to drill holes in my house to run outside wiring to set up security cameras. Set up is very easy. These cameras are for security, not for 24 hour surveillence, but you don't really need it because any movement and it will capture a short video of whatever is going on within the perimeters you set it for. I have shown people some of the videos and they want to know what kind of camcorder I have because the pictures are so clear. They can't believe it when I tell them it is my security cameras. The night vision works great.

What's in the box: 1 base station with power adapter 2 wire free cameras and detachable rechargable batteries 1 camera ac power adapter and micro USB cable 4 magnetic wall mounts 4 mounting screws 1 Quick Setup Guid Setup: The whole setup process is very straight forward and it took me around 10 minutes to setup the base station and both cameras. Please note, the base station need to be hard-wired into the router via an ethernet cable (included in the box). So, make sure you have an available spot in your router or else you will need an ethernet switch. App and Software: I found the Arlo mobile app pretty good. It is intutive and have pretty much all the functions that you would like to have in there. Usage Notes: So, first of all, it is very very easy to use. As I mentioned above, the setup with the mobile app and 2 cameras takes around 10 mins. After that features like camera positioning help you further to find the right placement for your cameras. No wires mean you can place the cameras anywhere you want. As per the product description, it can be used indoor as well as outdoor. I have used it indoors only. It comes with magnetic holders and screws to secure the holders in dry wall (or other surface). The magnets on the holders are really strong and you can easily position the cameras on the holders to get the desired positioning. I really liked this feature. So, all in all, I was able to stream live videos from my cameras in 15 minutes. It has all the bells and whistles that you will expect from a system in this price range. The night vision works. The battery life is good. You can plug in the provided mini-USB cable to the cameras and keep charging the battery while still recording. This will come handy if you plan to be away for extended period of time but still wants to keep any eye. It also provides the option to store the videos on local USB storage which is good. Overall: I really liked this system. At $480, it might seem a bit pricey but if you account for 7 days worth of free videos in cloud and other features, I think this is still a good deal. I have tried other systems in 150-200$ range but they lack so many features that spending this extra money is totally worth it. Also, I think the subscription plans are very well priced.

It took me less than 10 minutes to get this system hooked up and installed. The app can be downloaded from the app store and connects seamlessly with the base unit. I really like that the system is expandable. While the box says it is appropriate for indoor or outdoor use, I would be nervous about the camera being stolen outdoors but am going to give a try to just test it out. Inside the definition of the video is amazing. The cameras can operate via power or battery which makes them extremely versatile. Great choice for security cameras.

I didn’t realize Arlo Pro2 doesn’t support 2 way talk. I am having this problem when I need to communicate to the person in front of my house. There a lag too in the video. Not great overall all.

We live out in the country with a barn and other outbuildings, horses, and a lot of other pets, so I've been using cameras for a long time to keep an eye on everything while we're away. I started out with a wired-camera DVR setup, added a few indoor wireless IP cameras later, then last year started using the Arlo Pro cameras. I was never excited about relying on the cloud for this, or paying subscriptions, but after using Arlo for a year I'm completely sold on the idea. They just work so well using the Arlo app with motion alerts, schedules, and viewing video clips that I've only continued adding more Arlo cameras. I've surpassed the 5-camera limit of the free account and recently started paying the subscription to use 7 cameras. The only negative with them is the cost, but they are completely worth it to me. The rechargeable batteries work very well and it hasn't been a nuisance to keep them charged in my applications. I learned pretty quickly not to record motion on the barn cameras since a horse might stand in view swishing its tail for a few hours a day. That would drain the battery in a few days. But I do record on my driveway and gate and those batteries last for a couple of months. That's with us coming and going, mail and packages being delivered, and people driving by several times per day. I had hoped the Pro 2 cameras would make it so I could read license plates, however that doesn't seem to be the case. The video quality is definitely better, but I still couldn't make out the plate in the recorded video, even at the highest quality. I plan to run some more tests to see if I can tweak anything to make the quality better. I've seen complaints about the night vision quality, but to me it's adequate. I've captured video of coyote packs, bob cats, deer, and all sorts of other little critters passing through. The biggest problem in the summer is keeping the spider webs cleared from in front of the camera--they can quickly blind the cameras. I'm completely happy with my Arlo system, even given the cost. If something happened that destroyed all the cameras I have today, I'd go out and buy Arlo cameras again.

    Awesome Wireless Security Camera

I have the original Arlo and I must say that this is a true upgrade from my current one. I have been testing this Arlo Pro 2 system now for 1 month and have not encountered any issues raised in other reviews here. below is a summary. Pros 1) Easy and Simple Set Up - It took me literally 5 mins to set everything up. 2) 1080p camera - the picture is really clear compared to my old one and plus the video quality is unparelled 3) Mic and Speaker is a game changer for me. I now can screen people who rings my doorbell 4) As with the older version, phone app is easy to navigate and use 5) Rechargeable battery is plus albeit I think battery life can be better (but not a real complain as I recharge it) 6) Integration of Alexa is a bonus feature 7) Wide Angle camera helps with seeing a better scope in my back yard Cons 1) Although I received this from NETGEAR to review, I would say that the price is on the high end. 2) I would like the lag to be slightly less 3) Night vision could be better. Overall, I would recommend this camera as the video quality is great given that it is a true wireless camera with mic and speaker.

Not the greatest when it comes to battery life. I was told by Best Buy rep that the battery last 6mths . Well guess what it only last 4-6 days. At first I thought maybe I have it in the wrong location. That didn’t matter. I’m constantly changing the battery which is a hassle it needs to charge for 8 hours and I have it up high which I have to pull out an ladder each time! This is the worst camera ever! Can’t return it because it’s pass the 15days return policy . So please do more research before buying don’t trust the sales representative .

    Excellent Quality, Easy Set Up

In a house where I already have 3 standalone cameras which all require some level of direct web access to view with limited playback capability, the Arlo was a great enhancement to our existing system. Extremely easy to set up, I was up & running within 15 minutes and already pulling HD quality images, with it taking a little bit longer to set up the alerts & zones. I've used this to monitor packages being delivered to the house (thanks to the kids ignoring the door bell), easily capturing faces, etc. and the alerts come quickly to my smartphone. Out further, cars are easy to recognize but those complaining you can't see license plates need a reality check on what true video capability is (this isn't television where you can zoom in, nor are these NSA-quality cameras). The siren is loud but I opted to not use for the time being. I do find the add on cameras to be pricey (at north of $200 each), but the quality certainly warrants it. With 2 cameras included, it's enough for most people to cover 2 entry points in the house. In the end, this is an excellent system with ease of use & set up and required very little in terms of technical know-how to get working quickly.

We installed it and used it for a day... while it’s saying the pixel is 1080p, it is so blurry! For paying that much and the quality is bad... we returned it and looking for something else

The first few months with the Arlo cameras were great, but the company has issued several firmware updates that have degraded the video quality to save them storage space in their cloud. The result is great cameras that record unusable videos. Since they are tied to the cloud, and firmware updates cannot be disable, there is no way to prevent/reverse the damage to an otherwise great product.

Does not allow you to condense view to active areas to reduce battery usage....UNLESS PLUGGED IN. So you have to buy long cables and only theirs to keep plugged in. Not Cool.

Geofencing is not working as it should. Does not detect both phones when leaving and entering our location. I have sent multiple concerns to online support with no response. The camera system was not cheap at all. Cameras work great but the app completely sucks. This new app that we were forced to use is terrible. Product does not work without the app. Also no app support. Anyone reading this before purchase... Do not buy into the Arlo products. There are cheaper better performing products out there.

I have nothing but problems with these cameras. Issues from poor quality, intermittent recordings, battery charging issues and terrible customer service. I tried to correct the issues myself by moving the cameras into different places, rebooting the system, deleting and adding the devices back and more. They still continue to have issues. The Best Buy warranty has expired so I contacted the manufacturer. They have given me nothing but the run around. For the cost of these cameras they should be flawless.
