    Amazing wireless cameras!

I love these. The big sell is that they are wireless and this really does set them apart from the competitors. They claim that the resolution is 1080. It's pretty good but I'm not quite sure they're full HD. However, I have absolutely no complaints about the image quality. They are great and do the job. On top of that, you get 7 days of recordings for free. This is amazing because you don't need to buy another service after buying a product. The mount is easy to install. The cameras are easily adjustable via magnet. You can do 2-way audio which is great (we can say hi to our dog). The alarm that you can set off also gives us peace of mind. It's VERY loud. I have seen complaints about the night vision. I think the quality is fantastic. I obviously haven't seen other great night vision cameras but I think you can easily see things. LOTS of pros. Some cons. Being wireless, they have to depend on battery. They try to efficiently do this by sensing motion. They're very sensitive. They sense things like flags waving. Being very sensitive, they start sending notifications like crazy for things. You can try countering this by only turning on the camera when you need to/leave the house. This also tends to drain the battery pretty fast unless you can set up a power connection to the cameras. So maybe battery life is a complaint but I think they did the best they could for a wireless camera of this size. Also, because they run via wifi, they are VERY dependent upon the strength of your internet connection. I have heard complaints about the lag. A lag is inevitable over internet but also if you have very slow internet. My internet is decent so there is little lag, but when there is alot of traffic, the lag gets pretty bad. All in all, I love this system. For the price you're paying, you obviously want a great system with little complaints. I think that you get that with the Arlo Pro 2.

Netgear knocks it out of the park again!! I can't say enough good things about Netgear products. These camera are crazy simple to setup. From box opening to recording footage it's a mere 5 mins. The hardest part is finding where you want to put it. Their size and rechargeable batteries make it incredibly flexible in placement options. The video quality is really quite good! The audio quality was just as impressive. I'm using it to monitor activity in the business I own and it enables you to zoom in and pan around. You can pick up conversations in the room even with other noises around. I'd love to be able to place it outside my business so I can use it as a safety cam for people coming/going after dark. My only concern is with the warnings about placing them in conditions under 32 degrees. It can get cold and ice over here. So I don't think my camera would last long outside. I can't speak to the battery life of a camera on a full charge, but statements online are saying between 3-6 mos under normal usage. I haven't had it long enough to speak to that. I do hope it lasts a while. Even more important would be the speed of recharging. I wouldn't want to have to sit around waiting on them to charge for very long. It really seems like a very solid product. I would highly recommend them if you need a indoor/outdoor wireless security camera. FYI, the siren is crazy loud! :)

The Arlo Pro 2 cameras go offline after 60 seconds. Do not buy!!!! Technical support is nearly impossible to reach and when you do, they can't sort out the problem. Then they promise to call back and never do! Find an alternative solution. Trust me, you'll thank me.

    Flexible Residential or Commercial Security

The Arlo Pro camera systems are the best option for setting up a security camera system assuming you have a WiFi connection in the vicinity of their installation. Basically, these are great for commercial and residential areas, but wouldn't be suitable for filming wildlife or checking hunting stations in the backwoods. That said, the Arlo cameras provide great quality HD video, which can be streamed to your mobile devices and is also stored in the cloud so it can always be accessed. The cameras are motion sensing, meaning that when reviewing video from one of the cameras, you won't be fast-forwarding through a lot of "dead space" in the video. This also helps the cameras save power, which is especially valuable when using them as wireless, rechargeable cameras. While these cameras take great quality video, my favorite aspect of them is that they can be used 100% wireless, making the installation as easy a screwing in a few screws. No more messy wiring and no more needing a electrician if you need to place a camera where there isn't already electrical wiring. They can also be plugged in to a powersource, which will be a better option for some users. This flexibility means that you can temporarily move them will very little hassle, if need be. The other feature I get the most use out of is the 2-way audio. When I first heard about this feature, I really didn't get the need for it. That said, I have a home office in the back yard, meaning I can't always get to the front door quickly if I am on a work call. Earlier today, a delivery came that I needed to sign for. I was able to communicate with the delivery guy and told him I would be right there. Already, this feature has saved me a big headache, as receiving the package was critical for me.

I purchased this product because I didn’t wanna take the struggle of going to the attic and installing wired cameras and didn’t want hire professional to install them. After receiving them, I relized that you need a subscription for everything. Came up to $50+ A month just to store your recordings and have camera record. If you have that money to spend then go for it but I wouldn’t spend $50+ a mont for footage after paying close to $400

Giving Arlo Pro 2 an average 3 stars

Here are my rating after trying out the Arlo Pro 2 for a week. 1 Star (Poor) for battery life - After having it on for only motion detection pointing to a quiet street, the battery on the camera is at 49% already. There is no way it would last even a month. I have two other cameras that are pointing at the side of my house and the backyard which has not activity at all is 95% and 91%, so perhaps these will last a 2-3 months, but to say it would last 5-6 months, I don't think so. 4 Stars (Good) for the 1080i cameras. The Arlo Pro 2 camera are an improvement over the Arlo Pro, however, zooming in to get closer still produces grainy pictures. The night time feature I would agree that the Arlo Pro camera had better resolution than the Arlo Pro 2. 5 Stars (Excellent) for easy installation. However, for the price of the Arlo Pro and Arlo Pro 2, they would provide more outdoor mounts instead of just one as anyone or animal can just knock the camera off the magnet mounts. Overall, I have not decided to keep the Arlo Pro 2 as I was a bit disappointed in the battery life and is a hassle to take them off to recharge. I did purchase a solar panel for the camera that is down to 49% to test it out. If spending $800 or more for the Arlo Pro 2 is not big deal, then I would probably purchase it, but if it is, then consider the initial Arlo Pro. I will do another review mid January when I have to decide on whether or not to return or keep my Arlo Pro 2.

Bought and paid for the Arlo sys and installation the first of March. Best Buy canceled the installation because of the Covid pandemic nation wide, despite there was no reported cases in the city of Little Rock at that time. There has been no further information/follow up from Best Buy since the cancellation over a month ago... I do not have the system in my possession and have fully paid for the equipment as well as prepaid for the installation !!

Had the Arlo Pro 1 and it is so much better than the Pro 2. However with 1080p HD video recording, nigh vision, dual-way audio and smart alerts and email notification, the NETGEAR Arlo Pro 2 home security system lets you keep an watchful eye on what matters to you most, whether it's naught pets, lovely kids or elderly parents. The elegant yet rugged camera is IP65 rated, ensuring trouble-free performance in various outdoor conditions. The camera can be installed cable-free and powered by a long life battery (included), for easy deployment in your yard, pool and more spot. And with remote viewing, you can check in anytime, anywhere from your phone, tablet or PC and see what's going on in and around your house. It seems as though Netgear may have rushed this one as compared to the first. The cameras have disconnected on several occasions. Nightvision is terrible. Maybe they will provide an update to correct the issues in the meantime I am connecting my Pro 1 back

The fatal flaw with this item is very poor tech support from Arlo. the problem is that if there is a power interruption to your router, this item shuts off and can only be rearmed by connecting to the router. If you are home, no big problem, if you are not home, you are unprotected. Amazing failure to plan by software people. Was returned to Best Buy and got complete refund.

The Netgear Arlo Pro 2 is slightly expensive, but you get two weatherproof cameras and a base station with a built-in siren and USB connectivity for storing recorded video locally. As with the original Arlo Pro cameras, the Pro 2 cameras are completely wireless, use rechargeable batteries, and can be easily installed anywhere as long as they are in range of the hub, but this time around they bring 1080p video and Alexa compatibility, and when used with an AC power source, recorded clips will contain footage of activities that occur seconds before a triggered event. All of this makes the Arlo Pro 2 our top choice for outdoor security cameras. The Arlo Pro 2 is very easy to install and configure. Start by downloading the app and creating an account. Connect the base station to your router using the included LAN cable, power it up, and when the power and internet LED indicators turn green, tap Add Device in the app. I did this and the base station was immediately recognized and added to my account. I then inserted a battery pack into each camera (they come fully charged out of the box) and made sure the cameras were within three feet of the base station. I pressed the Sync button on the base station and waited a few seconds for the Sync LED to flash green, then pressed the Sync button on one of the cameras. Within 10-15 seconds the camera was added, and I repeated this process for the second camera. The Arlo Pro 2 works with dozens of other smart home devices via If This Then That (IFTTT) applets and Stringify flows, and can be integrated into a SmartThings home automation system. It also works with Alexa voice commands to display video on an Echo Show or Fire TV device.

DO NOT buy this security system! I just had it installed 10 days ago and it’s off-line 50% of the time. The only way to get it back online is to pull the plug on the back of the unit and plug it back in. You can’t do this when you’re not at home. What good is a security system if you’re having to unplug it and plug it back in when you’re home? What a waste of money!
