Having a wireless option for my home security has always been the Holy Grail for me. As such, I was an early adopter of the 1st gen Arlo system. While that has been a solid solution for my needs, I am very pleased to report that these next-gen cameras fix address many of the small issues I experienced with the previous generation and I couldn't be more delighted with the new features and enhancements. Netgear rolls out regular enhancements to the app and the web-based interface and I have never encountered major issues using either of these platform. Setting up the cameras, the proper zones and the various time windows has never taken more than an hour, top. Everything is super intuitive and making adjustments over time is even easier. The 1080p resolution is a big step up from the original Arlo and I could not be happier with the quality of images I get through my phone or through the web. Although I received my Pro 2 as part of a Friends & Family program, I will be buying additional sets for my family this holiday season. One nice feature that was not previously included was the 7 days of recordings stored directly to the cloud. This is a great option for storing/accessing the most recent recorded activity. However, the biggest upgrade for me is definitely the 2-way audio. This is a feature I really wanted to see in the original version and was so excited to see included here. the reality of the feature more than meets my expectations. Overall, the Arlo Pro 2 is fantastic option for any family seeking a solid home security or monitoring solution.

12345 I had been looking for a wireless system for quite some time before finding the Arlo Pro 4 Camera system. It has been everything I need! And now that they offer the HD 1080p wireless option I've expanded my network I'm also looking forward to the Arlo Security light coming in the spring. Support is outstanding and very responsive. Set up is fairly simple. The best option for wire-free solutions!

Works very well. Takes a little tweaking to get it aimed correctly and not get notified every time the wind blows, but otherwise it is nice. LOVE that I can check in any time on my phone, and the picture quality is good, even better with the Pro 2!

The Arlo system is top notch, it really is, but the reason for for 3 stars is explained below. First, let's start off with the goods, it is just plain awesome. I love the portability, the way it can be expanded and how easy setup can be. Day time recording are always crystal clear and look great on the Pro 2. Sound recorded is ok, I wouldn't expect great quality there, but it works. The Arlo app always works and it is nice to see my home and yard from anywhere at any time. Now, why it has 3 stars: 1: It is not a real upgrade from the Arlo Pro. The 1080 is pretty much unnoticeable over the standard Pro's 720. 2: Night Vision has too many quirks on the Arlo Pro2. As stated in other reviews, it has issues, period, and I will explain why. Does night vision work, yes, but you must follow the most stringent setup possible. 2a: Do not park your vehicle close to the camera or really anywhere in front of it. Why? Because the headlights or taillights will reflect from the infrared and make the image dark. 2b. No flood lights can be on in front of the camera. Why? It make the image look horrible, can darken it, and make it unusable. 2c. You cannot use any skin with a hood. Why? Because it makes the Pro 2 get a fisheye effect, darkens the picture and gives it a milky look as well. This was found out usinh actual Arlo skins. 2d. Cannot be mounted with a wall next to it. Why? Because the infrared is so strong it reflects off of it and darkens the picture. The Pro did not do this in the same spot. 3: They did not improve on the depth of the mounting screw from the Pro. This would be nice to have a few more threads, especially when there own mount doesn't even go all the way in. 4: The front of the camera around the edge is now white. Why would they do this? Now keeping the camera somewhat hidden with a skin is impossible in a dark corner. When you look up, you see the white ring plain as day. I had to cut the hoods off my skins and then take a permanent marker and cover the white edge to make it not easily seen. 5: When a Arlo Pro is added to the Arlo 2 or Arlo 1 base, it gets disconnected within an hour every time since the Pro 2 cameras were added. So, with all the issues, I can honestly say, the Arlo Pro is better than the newest version. Pros: Great Daytime Video Cons: To many to list, read above.

This analysis is based on a preliminary test. A full-scale test will be coming in January as I deploy this at my Mother's house for her protection. Unit works as advertised and was easy to set up on my phone. Videos saved as they should and when motion was triggered, the videos could be deleted with ease as well when tested. Did not use the alarm, however.

Great camera , batteries last quite a while . Image quality is good, though there tends to be a small delay at times . Other than that the only thing I would change is the fact that you can’t move the camera remotely .

Buyer be aware that this system only operates with motion. We all know how reliable motion detectors are.... There is no continuous video recording. It states that with AC power this is possible. Don't go and buy 4 solar panels at 80$ each thinking that this will count as "AC" and allow you to continuously record. It doesn't. It also has a 5 second lag no matter who your internet or what router. I got the best of both. Hard to talk to someone through the system when you find yourselves talking over each other. The other thing is that netgear controls ABSOLUTELY everything with their system. No recording to anything other than their server. Its their software period. The first Arlo pro2 system I purchased worked for three days and suddenly had no internet. Returned to the store for a replacement after netgears customer rep recommended this. Good thing I was around to do so and good thing no bad guys showed up while it was down. We will see how it goes with the second system as far as reliability. I'm $1600 (counting this 300$ router they said I should get) into a system that is a long was from worth the sticker price. I'm certain for the money I could have done way better if nothing else could have had continuous video recording!

This is an upgrade to my original Arlo kit. The Pro 2 cameras are much better with HD resolution and audio recording. It was super easy to setup; and I tested successfully connecting the cameras to both my original base station as well as the new base station with ease. In the end, I kept the connection to my original base station since I have other Arlo cameras already set up. The new audio functions are a great addition, cameras are very sturdy, and the rechargeable battery saves a lot of cost. I've enjoyed using Arlo for a while now and these upgrades will make it more valuable and long term solution for me. Image quality very good. Connection time with smart phone a bit slow if you are not on your home network, still reasonable. Setup takes a bit of playing with the settings to achieve desired functionality.

Love the mounting options, angle of view, video quality and motion detection. Not a fan of changing batteries outside so will be adding a solar cell to one camera and an outdoor power cable to another.

This camera allows me to feel safe simplely because I know the Arlo camera is constantly recording every single movement outside of my lovely home. This brings me peace and just having this product allows me to go out with my family and friends while I know my house is being survilliance by a good quality camera such as Arlo.

Have had Arlo Pro 2 - 2 camera system for almost 2 weeks - Works Great! Very simple installation, Night vision is excellent, can zoom in the night to read the label on the package - 1080 P resolution is excellent. Camera is installed in heavy traffic area, after 2 weeks, battery is showing 98%

Build: There's lots to like about this kit - the build quality of the cameras, the clever magnetic camera mounts, the user-friendliness of the app. The components of the Arlo Pro 2 kit are well made and work well together. The batteries on the cameras seem to work well but suffer some in the cold. If outdoor long-term surveillance is a permanent installation for me I'll have to look into one of the alternative power sources for the cameras such as solar. Sertup: Once I got the hub/siren plugged into my router and it picked up an IP address, downloading the app was simple and walked me through connecting the cameras. The app was very user-friendly and defined the user experience up to that point. Performance: The cameras worked great and I was very pleased with the image and video quality during the day. Definitely 1080p and usable imagery. After dark in night mode is a whole different story, however. Grainy and fuzzy video defined the performance after dark. I also found that I had to restart the cameras to reconnect more than once. All of these quirks stacked together to point to burgeoning tech that still needed development. Connection to Other Devices: This is where I had really high hopes to connect my Arlo to my Google Home. I was able to connect the accounts, but the google home wasn't able to receive any triggers from the Arlo or pass any info. Part of this could be on the Google home and not the Arlo, but others seems to have it figured out. Overall I like the Arlo as a strictly wireless surveillance system, and for that, it's a little expensive but does the job well. As an integrated part of the smart home of the future, the Arlo has a ways to go, as does all the other technology surrounding it. Netgear is to be commended for how far they HAVE brought this technology. Hopefully, the next version of the Arlo is the ideal home surveillance system.

The cameras on this system are excellent. True 1080p video with night vision and it’s weather proof. The alarm is as loud as advertised (haven’t had to use it in real life...yay!) One complaint is the cloud storage agreement. 7 days for free then a monthly fee (varies on how much storage you want). This will work as a video streamer if you choose not to pay for the storage but you won’t be able to save anything. Recommended but be ready for additional costs

I am unable to effectively use this because it requires a very high speed broadband connection to work. The whole setup process was very easy and straight-forward, but it only works for about 30 minutes. Afterwards I always get a message that says "This Arlo device is offline" When I turn the base off and back on, the same thing happens again. The internet speed in my home has been recently upgraded and I am running multiple smart home devices without any issues. I looked at the Arlo website to get some help but the resolution of turning the base off and back on does not work. Another thing I disliked was the fact that you have to purchase additional items to use the cameras outdoors. The following items are sold separately: Camera Mount, Silicone Camera Sleeve, Solar Panel, Additional Rechargeable battery. The main thing that stood out that I really liked was the app looked real good and was real easy to use. I really wish I could get this connectivity problem resolved because this device has a lot of potential. Otherwise, I will have to find another product that works in my home.

I had allocated an entire evening for installing this, but it only took 12 minutes from opening the package to having both cameras viewable on my phone. The instructions are crystal clear, and the app works great especially for guiding through adding each device. There are many additional features I need to try to our such as geofencing and detection zones, but I will get to those later. My only minor quibbles so far are: 1) the magnetic mounts are clever, but I do worry that they make it incredibly easy to steal an exterior camera. With that in mind I first mounted it quite high, only to realize that I couldn't point it down as far as I needed because the camera body hit the wall. 2) The naming of devices is slightly confusing - unless I overlooked something, it appears you give a name to the base unit (which I could not edit afterwards) but not each camera.

Disappointed. When you're paying a premium pricefor something, you want it to simply WORK. which these new cameras do not. My Arlo Pro cameras worked very well and never had any problems. Purchased the Arlo Pro 2 and have returned it twice already and same issues appeared everytime. Cameras will go offline for no reason and require the battery to be pulled out. And while being offline the battery drains drastically. And the night vision vs original arlo pro is 100% worse. very bad deal to be honest.
