Not up to the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They are very cool yes but. When you need them most they will fail and you will regret the purchase. I have been using them for about a year now. Many times battery issues currently have 3 going dead quickly and I know how to adjust settings so thats not the issue. Two cameras I have had to remove and replace batteries to get camera to detect motion. Many times by the time motion triggers what ever it was is gone. For just survelliance they are great but for security they are useless. Night vision is non existent without lights on. The technoligy is there but they have a ways to go.

Arlo Fails even at 15 F
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The initial set up is easy, and picture quality during daytime is good, but there is a delay in pic relay and night time picture quality is not satisfactory. Though Arlo says the cameras should work well till -4 F, our Outdoor cameras stopped working at 15 F, and the battery discharged rapidly (in minutes) in outdoor cameras even when the cameras were fully charged for 5 hours.

Decent for price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for the completely wireless feature, as we do not have a power source outside. Decent for price. Only thing I do not care for is the lag between real time and what you see on screen is too long, although not sure that can be helped.

Excellent product. Tech supp not so much
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did my homework before buying the Pro 2 and now have two systems of two cameras each at different sites. The cameras are excellent. The resolution and features are also excellent. SimpIe functions such as viewing, retrieving videos etc are great. I use it all the time. I find however that the managing of a schedule for the cameras can be daunting and not user-friendly. Try it yourself. If you have more than one camera on a base station, you may wish one camera to record video and audio and send a push notification. That is how the default Armed mode is set up. However, if you want one camera to do one thing, while the other camera does another, such as withholding notifications while recording video only, but only at certain hours, then things get complicated. You may need to create a new mode. You may need particular rules within the mode for each camera. This is tricky and I have tried the online instructions several times. The techs give boilerplate advice and will even get irritated with questions. None of the first line folks have any personal experience with setting up schedules (I have asked on occasion), so they simply refer to information on the website, which is similarly confusing. I have used home computers since 1992 and know my way around complex systems. I also know when I am being given the run-around by a tech support person. On occasion, a tech support person at a higher level will call me back, but it is hit and miss, sometimes with no callback. When on occasion this occurs successfully, the assistance is useful and well appreciated. I have incurred arguments from tech support who deny they are arguing. It must be a frustrating job at first line tech support, at the mercy of their upper-level personnel who read their satisfaction questionnaires. I have found great variation between patient and impatient tech support. Some are very pleasant and helpful. Others brusk, arrogant and easily irritated. You must ask directly for more help when you need it. Yes, I recommend this unit to friends, but warn them about tech support beyond the simplest questions.

Love my Arlo Pro 2
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had the Arlo Pro 2 cameras for 6 months and I couldn’t be happier with them. I rarely leave reviews because I don’t feel a need to review products that I don’t feel strongly about. But these Arlos are so sleek in design and the easiest tech I’ve ever set up, pretty much just plug in the router, push a button on each camera, attach magnet camera mounts to wall, and download the well-designed app and you're set up. I use these wirelessly exclusively so that does limit the advanced functions you can get if you keep them plugged in to power outlets, but I got them to be wireless and I’m very happy with the controls I do have. They record movement or can be triggered by sound also. The live look-in features takes about 5 seconds with my iPhone and is really cool. They are easy to take down and plug in to recharge, which I’ve had to do about every 2 or 3 months depending on usage. They come with free 7 day cloud storage but have many upgrade options. I would never buy another brand because these have been perfect for my needs.

Far superior, no monthly charge

Easy Setup & Great Quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The setup was incredibly easy and fast. Plug in the base station, download the app, follow the easy directions and the cameras were displaying on my phone in minutes. The cameras have a wide field of view and crystal clear 1080p video. The alarm, if set, has a real ear piercing siren. When clicking on "Live View" on the app, the cameras come up almost immediately, unlike some other cameras I use. All in all, I would say the Arlo Pro 2 Camera System is top notch.

Great Camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to wait to give my review until I could thoroughly evaluate this camera. I have several different models of cameras and this one is bar far the best one. I had my doubts about a battery operated camera but I have not had any issues. If the camera is in a location that tracks a lot of movement, then battery life will decrease. You can turn the camera on and off remotely with the app and adjust settings as needed. Distance at night isn't great without additional lighting but if it is close to an outside light it is fine. I even put an additional camera 75 yards away from the house and it worked perfect! I suppose a decent wifi connection helped. The only thing I don't like is not being able to select the notification tones when the camera detects movement. For IOS at least, there is no way to change the tone. I would highly recommend this camera. Of the four different brands I have owned this one is the best.

A good investment to protect your investment.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I consider Arlo the best security camera currently available, due to it's portability, durability and affordability .The learning curve from set-up to usage is low therefore it took me ten minutes to become up and viewing. This camera is a good investment to protect your investment.

Good video, Easy set up, App Worhtless
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the pro 2 almost 2 weeks ago. It installed easily and the video quality is very good. This works well if you pay the subscription fee to netgear for continuous recording. The motion detection leaves a lot to be desired, the range is iffy at best and the App is worthless (at least on android). Can't set activity zones and it gives error messages several times a day. Not connected to internet when on my LTE network, session timed out. please log in but gives no way to log in. I have to uninstall and re install 2,3, or more times a day and then still get locked out. I relocated one to see if any improvement and plugged in to ac power with no better results. My opinion is that this camera system need a little more work to be as they claim. I will be returning the product.

Would give 5 stars except....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This system was such a disappointment. Where to begin. I’ll start with the pros. It was very easy to set up, mount cameras and use. Also has very good picture quality including night vision. Siren is a good feature and is very loud. That’s about it for the pros unfortunately. Now for the cons which outweigh the pros by far. THE LAG IS UNBEARABLE! And no it’s not my internet. When the camera is placed inches from the base there was a 3-7 second lag on the live view. When the cameras were outside or in another room there was a 10-20 delay. There was also multiple issues with the Alerts. First, they were delayed as well. I had my son walk up the driveway, into the garage and inside the house. I did not receive the alert until he’s literally stepping foot in the door so it was also delayed by 10-20 seconds. So basically someone could be in your house before you even get the alert... Secondly when testing the cameras I had mine and the Mrs. phone side by side laying on the table face up and locked. Sometimes when and an alert push notifications would come through, one one phone it would stay on the locked screen until pushed away and on the other phone it would come pop up only for a second and then go away. It did this on both phones even though we have the same phone, notification settings, and on the same network. Another issue I noticed is if you’re watching the camera live, and it detects motion, it will send an alert (delayed of course) but it does NOT save the video. So for instance if you hear a noise outside and check your live feed and then it detects a burglar, IT WILL NOT BE RECORDED! What else?... Only one device can be logged into the app at a time. And if one is currently logged in and another try’s to, it will log out the fist device. So that means if you share these cameras with anyone else (spouse, roommates, kids etc.) and motion is detected, everyone will get the alert at the same time which means everyone will try to view the video at the same time (obviously) which means everyone will be kicking off the person currently logged in so no one can actually see the video! It’s like AOL all over again! But wait there’s more. The microphone feature is complete garbage. To use it you have to push to talk and release to listen like a two-way radio which is fine except hmm you guessed it, the delay. It’s like talking to someone on the phone across the country back in the day where you had to talk then wait a few seconds for them to hear you and then wait some more for their response on top of having to use the PTT button. This system would be a good pet sitter, that’s about it.

Very raw and immature product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1. Pro2 has really bad microphones compared to Pro1. You need to yell at camera from one foot distance to be heard. 2. In darkness with night vision on Pro2 picture is worse than Pro1. Though in daylight and outdoors at night with a bit of external light Pro2 seems to be better than Pro1. 3. Lack of control. Possibly issues above might be solved if there would be control over microphone sensitivity and contrast. But for mike you have just on/off and for video just brightness with 3 usless positions ... too dark, too light and default. 4. Dependency on external Internet freaks me out. Base station and cameras are connected to my local network in first place. Why I cannot manage and watch cameras through local network? Why in order so see my local cameras video should go through some big cloud-internet-netgear-arlo-vimeo brother? Example: in my summer house I have internal WiFi without external Internet access. Still while being in house I want to be able to watch what is going on around. Arlo answer is: NO WAY! In situations like that Arlo cameras are completely useless. 5. Motion detection is based on some IR (infra red stuff) thus it does not work through glass when your camera looks into your window.

Ok, but misses on key things
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works fine and has an impressive number of features relative to competitors. A couple of things bug me about this however, which I believe is frankly unacceptable given the price tag of the product. 1. No acceptable way to use advanced features outdoors...In order to use advanced features (create zones for motion sensors, 3-second lookback), the cameras must be plugged in. Netgear stopped selling its outdoor power cord due to issues it was having and we have been waiting quite a while for a fix. It consequently warns against using third party outdoor power cords saying that this will void the warranty. It’s a shocking situation to be in. 2. Zones are inflexible and limited...I was disappointed to learn when creating motion sensing zones that you can only create square zones. I think most of us need the flexibility to create odd-shaped zones or better yet, the ability to draw free-form in the camera's field of view. You are also limited to three zones per camera. This may be fine in certain circumstances, but if you are monitoring a large area with many swaying trees, moving cars, etc. you can't effectively monitor an area with three zones. Both items seem like easy fixes but Netgear hasn't shown much haste in addressing them. Again, system works fine but for the price, the issues above are unacceptable

easy to setup, but night vision is very poor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this system was super easy to setup, and it comes with everything you need to get 2 areas up and protected easily. the online app is nice, and its easy to review previous days recordings.. I had 2 major disappointments; first of all, there is no way the battery lasts anywhere near what they claim it to; I think MAYBE a month at most, but thats it. Its super easy to remove and charge them, so thats not a deal killer...Howevver, the night vision is very poor on these things, and if you are expecting bright and or colorful night vision with these things, you need to look elsewhere...daytime views and nice and clear, but night time, when you really need these things is poor..

Great System
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These cameras have worked flawlessly since I installed them. I have two installed outdoors, wireless. We have geofencing configured so that the system becomes "armed" when both cell phones in the household are away. Thus far this has worked perfectly. No issue missing motion events and very few false positives. Nothing negative to say about the system so far.

unfinished product, worse than pro
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this set with so much hope about 1080p and thought Arlo has good reputation in wireless cameras. Soon all the hope faded! First after installation noticed the 1080p resolution is more of a marketing gimmick than actual improvement in image quality. Quality of video is not different than pro. Worse is that these cameras are unreliable. As reported by most users in Arlo Pro 2's forum on their forum site, the cameras randomly go offline due to a bug and the only way to bring them back on is to replace their battery which is not pleasant as usually you'd install them at height so you will end up going up the ladder every other day. It was a waste of money to buy Pro 2 and I am returning them.
