Easy set up

They were very easy to set up and mount. The picture quality is great and I love the 7 day recording feature. I’m considering getting a couple more!

Captures decent footage, but poor at night

If you’re wanting to use other features Arlo claims to have well you’ll be disappointed. False claim as far as I’m concerned. The lag of up too 45 seconds make this device useless for live view , two way communication , ext . Arlo plays stupid that there’s an issue with lag even though thousands of us suckers have paid for this device and complained . Be warned there doesn’t seem to be any plan from Arlo (netgear) to resolve. Yes I said netgear , very disappointed.

Good but not Great

The cameras work great but for the area we want, the delay in wireless signal is too great. There is about a 7 second delay to relay to our phones. We need less delay time. The quality is video is good but when you zoom in, the images get blurry. We are going to get a hardwired system. These cameras are great if you just want a motion censored wireless video feed but we need a little more. We would definitely recommend the cameras depending on the need and desire of the buyer.

I underestimate this system

For my surprise, I were really amazed with the video quality and the connectivity of this. The motion detection works excellent, and the night vision has an excellent quality. I still have to evaluate the battery performance. I was so happy with this system that I removed the wire one.

Very disappointed

This is extremely irritating. There should be at least 2 so that I don’t have to wait until he he’s available to fix them. Secondly, EVERY SINGLE TIME WE CHARGE A CAMERA, IT HAS TO BE DELETED, THEN REIADDED BEFORE IT WILL PICK UP MOTION AGAIN. Horrible, horrible FLAW!!!! Thirdly, these are supposed to be so good you can make out a license plate...NOT!

Don't believe the hype of arlo

I purchased the pro2 one camera was in the kitchen area- about 15 feet from the router and hub, the 2nd camera was also 15 feet away outside. The marketing is great, but the product was bad. Dropped connections 200 emails detecting motion despite being on the lowest sensitivity. , I swapped postions. I gave it its own "guest network" on my Netgear night hawk router. I am not technically challenged , I know how network works. I returned it and bought a Blink XT with 3 cameras, it was like night and day. everything worked out of the box within 5-10 minutes. The interface is easy to use. Amazon owns them. The blink you could issolate certain small areas for motion detection, this is a game changer if you donot want countless warnings. small and compoact, no massive hub like the arlo and Blink comes with 3 cameras and all three are weather proof.

Disappointed!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used this product for three days now and I’m sad to say the Arlo Pro 2 falls short of my expectations. While it’s fast & easy to set up and the App works well, the video quality is less than expected. The 1080p image is only effective at a short distance and looses clarity when zooming in, becoming so pixilated it becomes useless. The night vision is worse & really sucks! You can make out an image but can’t use the image for identifying anyone, very blurred. The audio when communicating through the camera system is very poor especially in high traffic or a noisy atmosphere. Overall, this camera system may allow you to see outside your home or to record short snippets, but that’s about it, however, if you want live video footage there is a 3 to 5 second delay, sometimes even longer. My dismay could be a poor WiFi connection on my part and that I’m also using the free subscription for recording/saving video files. I would recommend hardwiring the camera system for continuous recording with a great WiFi signal to receive an only minimal performance but Out Of The Box-Plug n Play, this is less than what you pay for. I’m returning mine as it’s more cost effective to just look out my window and have a barking dog to see what’s going on because if you think you’re going to catch a crook “you’re not!” If you opt to purchase this, buy the Arlo Pro or older version, not the Pro-2 and save yourself a ton of money. This system is just not ready for home security just yet! I’m giving it 1 star due to easy set up and App use but as far as value and quality, zero stars!

Nice cameras but Returning System
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We wanted to upgrade our security and heard great things about the Arlo Cameras. Unfortunately they didn't work for us. Several issues: One - since we had a NetGear account it would not allow us to use the same email. Had many conversations with customer service and even changed the email on my NetGear account (which I no longer use because I changed routers) only to find that I still could not use that email for my Arlo account. This would have required us to set up an entirely new email just for this one product. Second: you don't get ALL of the features that you pay for with Arlo Smart if your camera is using the Wifi. Certain features are only available if the camera is plugged in - kind of defeats the purpose of the Wifi capability if you can't access all of the features such as person recognition and setting up activity zones. Third: Customer Service is a pure nightmare! One of the most difficult I have ever contacted. They are outsourced and are very hard to understand. They take days to return a call or email. Fourth: If there are two of you and you both want to access the cameras to make changes and set up things you can't. One person has to "grant" access to the other person again using another email and then that person can only view the cameras - they can't do any settings. Only one email will allow for settings/schedule changes. So if one person is logged in watching the camera and another logs in to change a schedule the other person gets kicked out completely and it logs them off. Very frustrating for a two person household. We both want access to make changes but we are told it is not possible (we can do this on everything else we own) We tried to make these cameras work but in the end all of the issues forced us to just return them and look for another company. I won't recommend them just for the poor customer service alone.

Not worth it

Quality and ease

You get what you pay for and my families security has no price. Yea it's expensive but absolutely worth it. Set up took 10 minutes and it has all kinds of options to configure if you want to. I would deff buy again.

Never buying a Netgear product again

As of today, Arlo/Netgear is changing their mind and will no longer allow cloud storage without a subscription. The cameras are still perfectly fine but after 3 years, they are pulling the rug out. No compensation or apology,

Company does not stand behind their products!

Soon after installation the batteries began to drain very quickly. This was resolved several months later when a new software was released. During that time the cameras had to be taken down and charged about every two weeks. We have never been able to get the cameras to run on the schedule we set up and have not been able to get this resolved. Most frustratingly, we started having issues with the base station being offline almost constantly about six months ago. It enters this state completely randomly. I spent over an hour on chat with Arlo support and ended up having to do a full reset of the system which only resolved the issue for about two days. I have sent multiple emails to Arlo tech support asking for further instructions or support to make the cameras actually functional and have never been contacted.

Not only does the battery life not last as long as stated… Arlo changed the “7 days free cloud” which was on the box, to pay service. Basically this is the worst system, and I ONLY bought it for the free 7 days cloud. Now this system is worthless to me. Avoid Arlo at all costs!!

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.These cameras will go offline (crash) for no reason and require a manual intervention to reconnect them. If you are away from home then you are out of luck. The Arlo service will also silently fail to record your video even if you are paying for recording storage and enhanced features. I received notifications in the Arlo app and then went to find that absolutely nothing was recorded despite the camera obviously being connected to the Arlo servers because I got a person spotted notification. These things are completely unacceptable in a security camera system. The concept is nice but the cameras and the Arlo service are so incredibly buggy that they fail at their basic job. If you try to get support for any of these issues you will get a call center in India and be read a script to reboot and reconnect everything which might temporarily stop the issues but absolutely will not fix the underlying problems which will crop up again. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CAMERAS. Luckily I had 1 day left on the return window for my Arlo Pro 2 system. I advise anybody else who can to return the system and buy something else. Support literally told me that engineering would NOT look into my issue because "it is not a known issue". They don't care that their system is unstable and fails randomly and silently. You cannot trust Arlo with your security. If it could get negative stars I would give it as many as possible.

The hardware of OK, but the software is NOT

Everything was ok with the Arlo system until Netgear introduced an update and broke nearly every aspect of the app as well as the browser versions. Just a quick rundown: You can no longer view full screen video in Safari, you can't update the picture before changing activity zones (if you move the camera, you will have no way to adjust these zones). The battery indicators are now no fewer than 3 clicks into EACH camera, Notifications don't always work. Recording to the library doesn't always happen. Some times, the cameras will just stop sending these notifications completely (and the only solution is to re-sync them). Re-syncing them doesn't sound like a bad thing unless you have mounted your cameras high up and this requires a ladder. I have had to do this 4 times in 4 months. Tech Support is useless. They are overseas and will not be able to help you with problems. They are now replacing 2 of my cameras, but the form I had to fill out online doesn't work in any Mac browser (FF, Chrome, Safari). It also doesn't work in iOS. There's now a possible class-action against Arlo. Please save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere and read the Community Forums on the Arlo website before buying.

Don’t expect Reliability

Great concept but If you need a system that you can count on look elsewhere otherwise great video image as long as you don’t zoom in so don’t expect to make out a license plate even from 15 feet away during a sunny day. Worked good for the 1st 2 weeks except the record up to 5 min when motion, that didn’t work from day 1 best result were 16 seconds even with doing everything that technical support said would help, so I’m left with record for 2min just to make sure I get more than a few seconds and even then the cameras miss way too much or won’t restart recording despite having it set at the highest sensitivity. Have ultra high speed internet and it’s plugged into the router via Ethernet cable yet it constantly loses connection with the base station the last thing you want to happen in a time of need. For the overall cost of this 4 camera system it’s a waste of money
