Heard about the wireless camera system shopped around and Settled for the arlo pro, the visuals look okay during the day, nighttime is barely useable, also 2 batteries died after 2 months, one battery will not charge at all, the other will only charge 20% which will only last a week at best. I wouldn't buy again ,,will try and return for another brand!

Night vision is terrible on new cameras. Stick with the original Arlo Pro.

    Doesn't work as described

I was told that this system works really well and doesn't false trigger, etc. Nothing could be further from the truth. Triggers on a bee going by and just about anything no matter how small. One camera out already. Also misses events. Had someone walk up the driveway at 1 am. Missed that until they were in view of second camera that did catch them. Called Arlo when camera went down and waited an hour to get someone that was no help. Had to call back and gave up after 45 minutes. Will try again tonight. They will not take it back. Best Buy sticks you with it if over 15 days too. Over $750 of pure junk. Will eventually get a real system like I had in last house that records everything and doesn't fail after two weeks! And will not buy anything from Best Buy again.

    Waste of money

It’s easy to use and setup, but it has software issues from day one. I would think they have fixed it by now, but they haven’t. About 8 out of 10 times, the app glitches in and out when I’m switching to live mode when it’s still recording. I would like to see what’s going on right away instead of having to deal with glitches, which defeats the purpose of a camera. Sometimes when it’s not recording and I go live mode, it will still do it. Yes, firmware is up to date. Devices are nice when it works, but I would recommend something more reliable.

No speaker sound, horrible battery life

If any intruder comes to your home they would have to put their ear to the camera to even noticed you are talking to them. The alarm only sounds on the base, so it cannot be heard outside your home. The batteries last approximate 2 to 3 days depending on settings. I have called customer service repeatedly with no solution. And they have a very strong accent that makes it very hard to communicate your issues. Do Not Waste your money, there's much better systems out there.

I bought the 4-camera Arlo (battery) system several months ago. I consider it a waste of money. The batteries didn't last as long as I expected - only about 4-5 weeks. The cost of each battery is around $10 EACH! I bought rechargeable batteries (which they now include) but it seems like I'm always replacing batteries. This becomes a very expensive security system. I bought another system and am much more pleased with it.

    Seriously Believe The Bad

I bought this system to protect my home and be able to monitor and communicate with people who show up unannounced. Setup took 2 hours with a tech and it was me that figured out the problem. After setup I installed a camera and tested the system. Video delay is horrible, two way communication unreliable or impossible (breaks up and often delayed 20 seconds or more making it useless). Once a camera activates by motion, if you switch to live feed to talk the video and audio delay worsens to about 30 seconds plus. My wife and I tried this several times and she was in the house talking to me while on the "live" feed she was still talking to me on camera. I have a very fast wi-fi system so that is not the issue and we tried it with 4G on the phone.. Worse. Read the bad reviews here and on Amazon and believe them. Don't rely on this system for security. You might pay the price if you do. It's worth the 60 mile drive to immediately return this failed, unreliable system. It goes back tomorrow.

For about 4 months, this camera system worked very well. I only had to charge them twice. However, recently, I became unable to log into Arlo 2 from the computer from any web browser, use community support functions or the support functions of Netgear. Now, my cameras went offline and all the troubleshooting was ineffective. I contacted Netgear via telephone since it was my only option. I received no assistance. The person I spoke to appeared to not have listened to anything I said over the phone and passed me off to some unknown department which never answered. My cameras do not work and I cannot receive any support for them.

    Inadequate Support

I wrote a review on Arlo 1 yr ago and the problems with the functionality of their equipment. Support at that time was decent. Support now is terrible. They do not allow email contact, they refer you to either phone (which isn't available all the time), or chat (which they don't answer), or their "community" which is just stupid. I haven't been able to view the playback for days now and unless you have a back-up drive attached to their base station you can't until they decide to talk with you.

    Cameras go bad

Bought the Arlo Pro set from Best Buy. After less than one year, one of the cameras stopped working, I switched out the batteries and the same camera would not work. ARLO support is worthless.

    Started out great, then.......

I purchased four of these cameras. They worked great at first, or so I thought. The first time we tried using the microphone to talk to someone at our door it failed. We tried all four on our Android phone and laptop. They again failed. We reinstalled the app, failed. Contacted support and were able to get it to work one time on data, but not on wifi. One of the cameras kept going off line and has since been replaced. Tried the mic on the new camera, failed. So basically they don't work as claimed. It would be nice to be able to talk to someone at the door so they think someone may be home. The support is horrible. Every time you contact them you have to give all of your personal info and camera serial numbers even though they have all of your info in your account on their website. I'll never buy anything from this company again.

    Horrible System

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased this system hoping it would be worth the money. I was wrong. I constantly disconnects. Battery power doesn't last long and the video footage is only at longest 5 mins. But there has to be motion to record. Quality of video is terrible. I would not recommend this product and would love my money back but past the return date. Also to get saved video for only a month at a time you have to pay a monthly fee. NOT WORTH IT!!!

Put up Arlo pro 2 to watch pets.

The Arlo Pro 2 does not seem to turn on from the pets movement. I activated the zoom and it still does not pick up my pets movements. I am very disappointed with the camera. I have called for help and can not get anyone to answer. I have left my number for a call back 3-4 times and no call back. Would not recommend this camera.

Big mistake buying this product, the camera in the front activates with the noise of a car passing by but doesn’t activate when the mail man drops off the mail or even better when a deer is right in front of the camera. I am emphasizing in this due to a deer is a 300 pounds animal and the camera did not caught it. I was looking from the second floor and the camera did not activate. Bad product, now I am stuck with this. :(

    Too many issues

I bought the Arlo Pro2 with 4 cameras and bought an additional camera to cover my home. I've had this system up for a few months now and I am so sorry I bought it. Common problems I have daily are: - The talk function doesn't seem to work and if the person can hear me I am unable to hear them. - When I view the live option it's very slow to load and most always there's lag and I am so frustrated by this. - I have never been able to take a picture as that function has never worked. - It only records when movement happens and it will record for about 20 seconds. If movement is not directly in the center of the cameras eye, it stops recording motion. - I feel this product is overpriced and should be at least below half the price. The only positive thing I can say: - I am able to watch my cats sleep during the day. - The picture quality is above average. - I have the ability to scare away a would-be robber with the alarm feature that only sounds from inside the home. Can't say anything more past that.

    Does Not Perform As Advertised

Bought this last Friday. After connecting to AC power. The cameras would not allow me to create and save activity zones for the video sensors as advertised. Without activity zones the cameras will send hundreds of false alerts and drain the batteries within days. The activity zones are intended for you to exclude areas that you do not want to be read by the motion sensors. Contacted Arlo this morning to find out that the company had a software glitch during the last revision, so they disconnected this feature until they can fix it. They informed me that this condition has existed for several weeks and they had no idea when the engineers would fix it. I returned for a full refund. At this point I would not recommend this product to an enemy, let alone a friend.

Great in day, useless at night

After paying to have the four cameras mounted, I found out that the Pro 2 has a known issue when used at night, the issue being the picture is so dark you cannot identify anything in the video. The picture is what you would get if you used a jar full of fireflies in a cave 100 ft. underground. I started researching online (should have done this before purchasing) and found out it is an issue Netgear/Arlo has known about for over a year and thus far refuses to address. This is a case of the "updated" product (Pro 2)being worse than the older (Pro) product. If you only need a security camera for daytime use, this is the one to get. If you need at night however (like 99% of the people who need security cameras), stay away from this unless you also purchase motion detector flood lights. That is how I solved the problem. That solution cost me another $500 for the lights and install. I am normally a big fan of Netgear, but they have really dropped the ball with this product.
