Cant pick a area to arm if arlo is not wired, defeats the purpose of wireless. 2 way talk works when it wants. Arm/disarm function is confusing. Not worth that kinda money.

We purchased the 4 camera and base station for use in elderly parents home to observe caregivers. Also signed up for CVR..continuous video recording. Constant delays.."dark spots" where nothing is recorded...time on CVR timeline doesn't match clock on wall..constant having to restart reboot base station. Too bad the engineers cannot figure out these constant bugs.. I would not purchase this again but now that we have spent all of this money, we are stuck with dealing with it.

    Functionality decline

I bought my system before Netgear’s app “upgrade” and liked it. Since the upgrade I get much slower response and notifications (kinda defeats purpose of security system) and they started grouping notifications with less granularity. Not impressed with their “upgrades” and even less impressed with the high price tag. Oh and why make it cheaper to buy more cameras with a base I don’t need?! Additional equipment is a rip off.

Don’t buy because the iPhone app is buggy.

Have the arlo pro with no problems until I was forced to download the new app on my phone. Takes a lot longer to connect to my cameras (20-30 seconds) before it was like 2-3 seconds. Lost 2 out of my 8 camera. I have 100% battery life because I changed them and was receiving notifications until I updated the arlo app. The app crashes a lot. Almost sometimes better to use apple home. Went from 4.5 stars to 2.

Nothing but problems from day one. Sometimes it records motion, most times it doesn't unless your as big as a car.And yes I have my motion settings to the most sensitive. System wouldn't work for a week after 6 months of owning it. Called help line, they fixed it but charged me $100.00 to do so. Dont waste your money on this system.

    Bought and returned

I bought expecting good things. I couldn’t even get the Arlo base set up let alone pass go. I tried for HOURS- I really wanted to use the system and my boyfriend bought the same 4 cameras a year ago and had no problems. For some reason my base kept flashing amber- which means it couldn’t connect to my WiFi. I called Xfinity- they refused to change my port status. I went ahead and bought a brand new modem/router (netgear nighthawk) from Best Buy- Arlo base still wouldn’t connect! I was messaging Arlo staff for the longest time and they didn’t answer their phones. I was on the phone and messaging Netgear to find out how to bypass those ports. To no available. I returned the four cameras as well as the Arlo doorbell (which I didn’t bother opening due to my poor experience with the cameras ). I hope Arlo company reads this and improves their ability to help their customers get their base connected to their WiFi and bypass all those silly ports that the average person has no idea how to accomplish!!! We obviously don’t have an ‘IT” person duh!!!!

    Horrible camera in the midwest

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

If it's around 0 degrees the cameras will not work. When you look at the cameras in the arlo app it says "they are too cold and need to warm up". Doesn't matter if they are fully charged either. This happens 4 months out of the year here. Absolutley worthless in cold climates. Also, if your driveway has any size to it they dont pick anything up other than if something comes into motion at the very edges of the camera. If a vehicle pulls in my driveway which would be centered in the camera it doesnt record anything until the person gets out of the car and to the very edge of the camera. It's like they dont read in the center of the camera and no I do not have it set that way. If you have them too close to the edge of the house it picks the glare up from our siding and continues to go off all night. Would not recommend to anyone. Waste of $400.

    Worthless Junk!

My Arlo system is a total waste. It blows through batteries. The cameras fail and need to be replaced after a brief period. It won’t work with rechargeable batteries. It randomly goes offline and doesn’t record. It’s nearly worthless as a security system. At least it looks like you have security cameras.

    Speaker/Talk Feature doesn't work

I had this Arlo Pro 2 set for over a month. Two weeks ago, I decided to use the talk feature and to my surprise it doesn't work at all. I had contacted the Arlo customer service dept several times regarding this issue and each rep said there's an issue with the cameras' firmware update and I should wait for the new firmware update. Its been two weeks now (a month since I purchased this garbage) and still no resolution from Arlo. I plan to return my set and will never purchase Arlo again. Better off with Nest.

I bought both the Arlo pro2 and the Nest IQ. I had issues with setup which Arlo customer service was great. However the quality of the image, and reliability of the camera was poor. Night vision made it very hard to tell what kind of car was in the driveway and missed multiple times when someone was in range of the camera. I returned and am VERY happy with the Nest IQ

6 cam system only works for 5 cams

Wanted to setup my new 6 cam Arlo pro 2 system but its only possible to add 5 cameras for free. Wrote to the support and this is what they said ElizabethYou can only connect more than five cameras on free subscription accounts if you create additional accounts and don't exceed the limit of five per account. You'll then need at least one separate base station per account.Mar 18, 2016 You — Please update your info Okay so i bought 2 systems with 6 camera each, but I can only attach 5 cams each station for free? So why do you sell 6 cam systems? ElizabethWe are a third party independent service provider and provide service for Netgear. You — Please update your info But still I can not use 1 camera from each system = 2 Camera I cant connect for free.. Is this correct? Thanks, have a good day

I purchased the 6 camera package and had it installed yesterday 06/23/2020. It worked great for literally half the day then glitched out and didn't work. The company customer service was of no help and could not get a live person on the phone. Needless to say, I will be returning it today. Not concerned about a restocking fee due to how absolutely terrible this system is. What a waste of time and money on this thing. This was actually recommended to me by their Geek Squad. You have to wonder why all of a sudden the system is on sale and reduced over by $350. Think about it. I will be exploring other options when it comes to surveillance systems

    Don't waste your money

I purchased the Arlo when it first came out. I was shocked how easy and convenient it was. Then they came out with new cameras and mine was not eligible for the 24/7 recording. So I went and bout a new one. It works well if the trees are blowing but if someone comes in my driveway or a car plows through my grass and into the backyard, the camera doesn't record in time. So if you want to have "live" feed and be able to look at your property, this would be good for you. BUT if you need it to record anything important, you may want to look at other options. Also, they were billing me for a service I wasn't using and wouldn't refund my money. They said I should have called them buuuut I didn't know my service wasn't recording and when I did realize it I called. Def would not recommend.

    Offline at least 1x/day

"Your ARLO device appears offline" at least once a day, every day. Have to soft reset the cameras daily+ ARLO smart should be a free service, especially if paying for CVR already. ARLO didn't detach from Netgear, Netgear is probably ashamed of what ARLO has become. NEST is way better.

Not even 2 years old and one camera doesn't work!

I bought the 2 pack Arlo Pro 2 with the additional doorbell pack in Dec 2018. As of a week ago, one of the cameras stopped working or capturing any video. Both cameras were inside and both always were updated with the latest firmware. I contacted support and they ran through all the diagnostics and could not find the reason why it stopped working. They told me that since it was out of warranty 1-year, they won't do anything about it and I would be responsible for replacing it. Since the pack was almost $400, I do not see why they can't help out and provide a replacement and I send back the faulty camera for them to diagnose and investigate. I would not recommend this product!
