I've been meaning to get a security camera for a while now. Then my car was broken into. So, off I went and bought this. Was on sale for a pretty good price. Already have an Arlo Q camera and the app, which I can create activity zones with. After adding the Arlo Pro camera to the app, it won't let me set up activity zones. Seems pretty useless to me if you can't do that. If you want to get notifications for specific areas, you're out of luck unless you want to pay a monthly subscription fee. If you don't care about that, this camera system will work for you. Apparently, activity zones only work for the Arlo Q and Arlo Pro 2. Might end up returning this.

I had this up and running in 15/20 mins. It was seamless interface with our WiFi. I would give it 4.5 if I could. I gave it a 4 because it is not THAT clear and there is a bit of a delay in notification...up to about two mins. But for the price I thought it was great for a self monitoring system with third party monitoring available. I like the remote activation. The Best Buy sales person was awesome and spent time showing us different systems. We have had no problems in the last three weeks and are very happy with the purchase.

I was pleasantly surprised buy how easy the ARLO system was to set up and get online. The picture is bright and colorful. The sound pickup is impressive.The one caveat is I was disappointed in how the cold is affecting the life of the batteries. True, we are having an extreme winter and that is affecting the life of the battery.-10 wind chill tonight! If I had to access the unit outside in a tree or the roof it would be a major hassle. So, I adjusted the number of hours they are online and how clear a picture I desired to extend the life of the batteries. All in all I am pleased. The neighbors do not know if the batteries are dead or not so it is still a deterrent. The recharging was very fast.

I have had several security systems indoor and outdoor. Indoor placement had always been an issue. Not anymore with completely wireless Arlo. Long lasting battery packs make it plug, play and forget. The geofencing feature makes this system fully autonomous and smart.

I got the cameras for security but they do so much more than that! I love that I can check up on my kids or my house from anywhere and that I can talk through the cameras as well. Battery life isn't as great as advertised but overall I wish I would've gotten these years ago. It would've saved me many sleepless nights and feeling so rushed to get home. I took one star away for the overall cost which is a bit high and I ended up getting the 4 camera set since each additional camera is almost $200 but I actually got the 4 camera set on sale so it was a better bang for the buck.

Easy install, app works great. I only encountered one minor issue having to do a firmware update immediately after pairing cameras with base station. Wish they were 1080p but 720p is still HD. Battery life great so far. Installed a month ago and all 4 cameras at 90% life or above.

I had no problems setting this up and getting it to work. Can see it remotely with my phone when I am out of town. Only have a problem with one camera where the battery does not want to charge up.

They said the battery doesn't last long, but my five Arlo cameras are still alive for more than 4 mos now. Very discreet and not a showy camera. I installed two indoors and three outdoors. How I wish that they have sensor zone area to detect, but overall I am happy.

I have had the prior system but think this group is very good. The camera takes good videos and has a wide range of view. The only complaint I might register is the battery life. It is short and for long continuous use requires an electrical attachment, outside solar.

It literally only took a few minutes to get the cameras going. The batteries were already charged and lasted more than a month before they needed to be charged. Arlo also did a nice job on the software including sending an email to remind me the batteries were getting low.

Great product for the price! My second camera that I have bought. I plan on buying more!

I got it for my husband for Christmas. He absolutely loved it. It has an awesome range.

First time using Security Camera, but bought a great one, quick alert on motion detection. App is user friendly, store max 2min free video of every motion based allowed GB size for a week, making use of this. Nice product. Continuous recording is available only thru paid plan.

I bought these cameras for my friend as a gift. I own one myself and I love it. It is a peace of mind when you are away from home. You get alerts whenever there is any motion in the range. I also used it to communicate with my family members who are at home. Great product!

Perfect for when I was deployed overseas and. Ended to keep an we on the house. Charged them before I left, checked through the app on the live feed near every day, and got a few recordings. That was 2.5months ago and I haven't had to charge them yet. Exactly what I needed.

I purchased this item to keep an eye on my office. The cameras work well but for one issue. The battery lasts no more than a few days in areas of high activity. It is a complete inconvenience to have to get a ladder once a week to swap out the battery.

Bought this after the new year due to the neighborhood being plague with package thefts and burglaries. Why I gave it a 3 star....well, first the cameras look nice. They look sleek and upscale and are small. They're truly wireless but that gives the cameras its limitations. Depending on your settings, you MAY get UP TO the advertised length of time for the batteries. I don't. At first, I had mine set to the longest recording time with the most sensitive setting. This made the batteries low after about 1.5 weeks since they picked up all motion and recorded the max 2 min even tho there wasn't motion after the initial set off. To get the longest battery life, you have to set the sensitivity low (which then in turn has the possibility to not record something if needed but you also don't record anything not necessary) and lower the amount of time recording; So the cameras are limited to a max of 2 minutes of recording. On top of that, they don't record until they sense motion and the motion is most sensitive when its sensed side to side. They tell you not to install the camera in a setting where the motion sense is detected coming or going from the camera. They suggest side to side. So when it does start recording, you miss the beginning portion of what needs to be captured. I have my sensitivity to about 70% on the cameras and recording 10-15 seconds. This, so far, has gotten me about 2 months on the battery life. The one camera that gets the most activity is down to about 23% so I'll probably get close to 3 months from the battery before needing to recharge. Another down side is that the base station that the cameras connect to need to in the vicinity of the cameras. So this limits you from hiding you base station or if you have a router in a place that's not close to a camera since the base station needs to be connected into the router. And unless you have a spare camera or one of the battery charges (that doesn't exist yet), then you have to take the entire camera to recharge the battery. So......Does it do what its advertised for? To a sense, yes. But not as well as it should. If Arlo could implement some sort of 5-10 second pre record buffer without draining the battery, that would be nice so it can capture the initial portion of the activity recorded. And if Arlo could have the cameras record as long as there is motion and not whatever the time limit setting you have, then that would make this a better surveillance camera. I think this camera is best used for indoor use rather than outdoor use like I have. Using indoor, you can use the magnetic mounts to easily take down the cameras to recharge.
