Do not buy. No support. Worked fine for 6 mos.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This system was great for 6 months. Now it wont hold a charge for more than 2/3 weeks. Arlo support just talks around a solution, and offers to fix one camera at a time if you spend hours on the phone with them as they troubleshoot. They did a firmware update for battery management, which had the opposite effect, it drains the battery at a ridiculous pace. You can not get a refund on the system after 15 days, well the problem took 6 months to develop. Until they push out new firmware or updated setting steer clear of the headache this system will cause you with battery life. It was great, worked like a charm for 6 months, now its beyond frustrating.

DId not work

I swapped the location of 2 cameras and still it did not record so it was not the location/distance from router. I set and reset according to manual. I returned item and bought the Arlo Q instead as I did not need need it to be wireless. This also has a Base - one more 'devise' to keep track of. Q seems to be pretty good.

Started out great. Now very glitchy

All features worked flawlessly. Now the notifications are slow, they don’t even work on my wife’s phone. The speak feature doesn’t work. The cameras take several minutes to connect when you click on one of them. These are a tremendous disappointment. Would be different if they never worked well, but they did for the first year. Now they are junk. Should’ve saved the money and bought blink xt.

Not consistent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very unhappy with how this system “works” and app. Can have on max sensitivity to motion and will still not pick up my car pulling into driveway consistently. About 50% of the time. So when it comes to smaller objects, that % is less. Now the app/software seems to not consistently work either which may be the cause to the above. This is mainly on my experience using the schedule feature. I can have it set to schedule but when you look at the status of it it states disarmed. Overall I have been very dissatisfied with this system. No wires is great, but not doing what people buy it for is terrible.

Terrible product and company

Person on phone not very knowledgable. Finally, got them to agree to send new. Found out that the Free shipping option was not free. You must pay to return the camera and then they will send you a new. Completely poor customer support. Got run around for over three hours before they finally agreed to overnight a new one. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. If you have any problems they do not care. You already bought it.

Not as good as expected

The motion detection is only good on the sides of the camera and not directly in front. A lot of the video it took doesn't capture movement in front or middle of view but only on the sides.

Wow- great image and great battery life
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup: 4/5 Set up was SUPER easy.... just followed the steps in the mobile app and I was up and running very quickly. Once the main unit was connected to my home network, it was super easy adding the cameras. My only complaint is right after everything was connected the cameras and base station needed firmware updates. Which is fine, but I kept clicking update, and I could never tell if it updated. It took me a while to get the cameras to finally get up and running. Not sure how to correct that but it was a little annoying at set up. Not much feedback on the app telling me if it was working or not. So this was the only hiccup in the set up. Features: 5/5 The day and night views are very crisp and clear. The sounds is great. I can speak through the app and it is transmitted to the camera, comes through very nicely to the end user. In the app you can set up different modes, like having only one camera on for motion for instance. Very cool to be able to customize which one is set for motion instead of it being both or none. Performance: 4/5 This is really more related to the app itself than the cameras. When you open the app, you see a small still photo of each camera (the last time you viewed live data is the still photo you see). When you click "live" to make it current, it can take almost 10-15 seconds to sync and actually show you the live feed. That is slow connection compared to other cameras I have tried. It would be great if the still image would update on it's own and grab a more live photo. The recording feature is great, you can manually choose to record, or grab a still photo at any time. And if you have it set to alert on motion, it captures video at that time automatically too. You can control how much time the video will record for a motion event.

You can buy the package with a variety of cameras if you like or add them on later but f you want When you pull it out of the box there are two cameras two batteries two magnetic wall mounts with hardware, the netgear receiver, network cable, USB charging cable The first step is to install the provided rechargeable batteries I. The small cameras, then plug in the netgear base and sync the cameras to it (takes about 3-5 min). At the same time you can install the app on your phone or tablet to control the cameras (or log in from a desktop computer if you prefer) The system hooks into your home wifi. Range says 300 ft but I have only tested about 50 ft Pros: picture very clear in no light (b/w) to normal light (HD color). There is a mic to record sound and a speaker to talk to people in the room. There is also a siren you can set off at the netgear base. Cameras are wireless (power and data). Indoor/outdoor use from 14-122 d Fahrenheit many easy controls from the app (cameras on/off, motion sensor on/off, motion sensor schedule, record on/off and others) Cons: since they are wireless ( good feature) you will need to recharge them (every 6 mo according to the manufacturer or less depending on the amount of recording done). They are easy to remove from the mount since it's just a powerful magnet (but also easy to steal if you mount outside in an easy to access spot). 2 second delay on video so fast movement may not be caught on motion sensor One concern I have is security of the camera data and controls from outside hacking. It is only as secure as your home wifi Overall a great easy to use and setup product. Would also be great for a baby room monitor

Slow connection timeouts and horrible non existent customer service. Waited 40 minutes for them to answer my support call and the person was unable to speak English let alone address my problem. JUNK!

Called customer service and was on the phone doing the same troubling technique over and over for an hour. Finally guy says it's defective just return to Best Buy, get another and try again. What I'm i your beta tester?? No thanks. Great concept but they need to get a handle on quality control and (atleast from what I read) better battery life. Went on the arlo forums on their own website to see the slew of people complaining about the same things. Recall your product and try again.

not what I expected from Netgear

This was not an issue with the internet because I have other devices connected which did not experience failures. For the price I think there is work to do. The base station was always online and I had access to the cloud video clips. Returning home and finding the camera disconnected for no reason disqualifies this camera as a security system. Will return it and try the competition the CANARY brand.

Do not work if it’s Cold

Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.They work fine during the day and as long as there is no moisture in the air or it’s anywhere close to freezing making the sensor inactive. When I needed them at 330 in the morning when thieves were cleaning my shop out and walking 10’ in front of the camera they didn’t work at all. How do I know? The one camera that I had pointed in the same direction that was not frozen caught some useless video as it was to far away. The point is, don’t trust them to work when you need them to like I did.

But past that free exchange. So now I’m stuck with them. Not what I expected

Arlo=Peace of Mind!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After unboxing Arlo Pro Security system I found it to be very user friendly from various aspects: *Setup- of this product was not hard at all. I was thrilled to know that the installation was wireless which gave me energy to get going. I like the fact that I can move the cameras around without the hassle of unscrewing something. Majority of my time expended on the installation was my trying to make up mind as to where I desired placement of the cameras. *Performance- thus far, the system is doing what it needs to do—monitoring my property. The picture clarity is great. I have noticed a little lag in timing but not enough to consider it to be problematic. I have a cat that is in and out and when he’s out the motion does detect his movement. The first few times I was a bit alarmed but after seeing it was only my cat; suffice to say I was eased immensely. *Security-words cannot articulate the secure feeling that I have knowing that my house is being monitored. Years ago I invested in a security system from a major chain, while the monitoring was good; it was quite expensive overall due to the fact, I had to pay them for the equipment, installation and monthly monitoring. This is what makes Arlo so unique, I get all of it and I don’t have to worry about a monthly monitoring bill. The product comes with rechargeable batteries I am interested to see how long they will last over time. I highly recommend this product to an individual or family who wants that extra layer of protection added into their home at affordable cost. If you haven’t tried Arlo I recommend that you give this unit a try, you’ll experience peace and protection while at home and away from home!

Can't get website or app to work

Too bad. The hardware and mounts seem pretty slick and easy to setup. But, right now they are paperweights.

Arlo is no longer a good company

You probably should NOT buy Arlo products anymore. While they were a good company when these products first became available, they no longer have good customer service. In case you weren't aware, the Arlo Camera/security division split off from its former parent company months ago. Since doing so, they have lost their good customer service while at the same time raising the price on their service fees. In addition, they are now outsourcing their call centers to foreign countries.

Terrible mistake

The only way to make back on line is unplugged from home and I think is not good because if I am out I can't control what is going on in my home!!! I may need to take to Best Buy where I bought it from!!
