Good Product / Resonable Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was a bit skeptical when a friend recommended this security system. However, I'm pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to set it up and get it running perfectly as advertised. I've been in the IT field for about 15 years so I can see how certain aspects of the system, and some of the behavior of the cameras could intimidate a casual user. Any lag in "Live View" should be totally expected when setting up and positioning the camera's just right. Once my system was online, I was impressed by the quality of the picture, even though only 720p, the picture and view is more than acceptable in this price range. All of my camera's are outdoors, so motion sensitivity requires a bit of testing, but once again once you have it set, it works flawlessly. E-mail alerts are great but a bit of a drag when you are home, so basically we just turn notifications on when we leave or put them on a schedule. This is a great product for the money. The free 7 day's of cloud storage for video events is another value-added accessory that's hard to beat. 5 Stars!

OK so far
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice cameras. They didn't want to work at first when I tried to set them up with my phone. After trying everything I could think of I finally set them up with my laptop and now they work fine (on my phone too). A lot of features at a reasonable price. Hopefully the batteries will last awhile.

Great Security Cameras!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my very first security system. I received it about a month ago. It is very easy to set up. After you have downloaded the app, it walks you through each step with ease. Took about 30 mins total to setup, sync and position the cameras. I have the free subscription which gives you 7 days of video memories in cloud, and supports up to 5 cameras. You may upgrade your subscription at anytime. Right now, the free subscription is great for my home. Highly recommend.

Okay Product
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I gave this product a 3/5 because there is nothing about them that WOW'ed me. It does what it says it does and it was pretty easy to setup. I cannot think of anything negative to say about it but nothing really positive either. Actually, the hardest part in setting it up was determining where exactly I wanted the cameras to go. I preferred to put them up on shelves instead of on the walls but in the end I put the cameras on the wall because the viewing angle was better. While they are indoor/outdoor cameras, I chose to put them indoors because it is so cold right now. I know the cameras are supposed to be able to withstand just about anything but I still preferred to put them in the house instead of outside. I do recommend the product, though.

Great!!!! Wireless!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing little cameras, you can get alerts, set up to record up to 120 Seconds after movement was detected, the only thing that does not work very well is record until no movement is detected only records 9 seconds even if I am running around in the same place, but everything else works great, range is 25 feet, easy to install,

Awesome, Easy Security Cameras
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These Cameras make life easier while Im away from home. Im able to see the entire perimeter of the house, any movement turns the cameras on, If I have a delivery I can talk to the delivery person and tell them where a secure place is to leave the package. Arlo is a great security camera, Ive told 3 family members about my security cameras and how easy they are to install, they all purchased them.

Beyond my expectations
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Your thinking for the price this wont be much but this was SUPER easy, and a great product. You can hear stuff on the other side of the house. Brightness adjustment to adjust for light and darkness and im too scared to try the panic siren it comes with a warning. Set up was simple and the quality is amazing. I will be buy more camras to finish this system off.

Do not buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m an IT professional with many years of security cam experience. I bought the Arlo Pro for a vacaion home where runnung power and ethernet cables would be extremely difficult. Pros: - ultra simple installation & setup - low profile attractive design with easy camera positioning Cons: - poor battery life. Under the best of circumstances, (minimal viewing and recording, lowest qualiy setting) I’m getting abot 2 months of life, far less than the pomised 4 to 6 months - very poor picture quality. Even at its best quality, the picture clarity is too poor to identify faces or licence plates. I have cameras costing a fraction of Arlo’s price that dramatically outperform it. - terrible motion sensing, with a long delay before recording. Most cameras allow you to set a hot zone or multiple zones to be monitored. Arlo only has a sensitivity setting, Most cameras have a buffer so that when motion occurs, they can capture it instantly. Arlo is so sluggish to start recording that in most cases, it misses the critical part of the event, when the person or vehicle is entering the area. Most cameras detect motion from any direction. Arlo requires the moton to cross sideways across the field. - Instead of the cameras communicating with your wifi network, they communicate only direcly with the Arlo base station. This means the base station must be centrally located to all the cameras, and there’s no possibility of improvingt the connection by installing better wifi. It also means the system is completely proprietary so you can’t improve it with 3rd party software. Unless you absolutely require an outdoor battery powered solution, I’d stay far away from these cameras.

Good when working
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These cameras are easy to set up and do have a good picture however the cameras do go bad! I have had 3 go bad within 6 months. Netgear wants to charge you a huge shipping fee and go through a lot of hoops to get them replaced under the warranty they provide. Luckily I did purchase the geek squad protection and will not have to go through netgear again. The batteries do have to be constantly charged. If the battery life would last longer and if the cameras would work instead of breaking it would be a great system.

TOTALLY IMPRESSED
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a wired system and bought one. Then I realized I did not want to spend the time running wires in a hot attic so I took it back. I was very hesitant to go wireless especially 720P and for the range, video quality, batteries etc. So I saw the 6 camera version and the reviews were really good so I went for it. It only took about 2 hours total to hook it up and get it running, possibly could take less time but I took my time read manual, played with software etc. So far I am totally impressed. Just waiting to see what happens over time. The night vision is really good, picture quality is good. So my advice is get it because its basically plug and play. Hope this helps.

Doesn't function as advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We installed all four cameras outside, two in the front and two in the back. Everything set up perfectly and worked perfectly. For ten hours. Then contact with a camera was lost. I couldn't find much on the Arlo website to guide me through a fix, so I called customer service. I was told that the problem was either the battery or the camera. So I charged the battery and three hours later it was working fine. For ten hours. Then the same thing happened- no signal from that camera. I called customer service again and they wanted me to switch batteries with one of the other working cameras. I pretty much told them that I am not a beta tester for their product and that they should send me a new battery and we'll work from there. They eventually agreed (the battery was delivered ten days later- to the wrong address!). In the meantime I would have to climb a ladder to reach the camera, bring it inside, and charge the battery. Daily. Then, a week after installation, another camera went offline. A call to customer service couldn't restore it. So it was given yet another "case number" and I heard nothing from them for two days. Meanwhile throughout all of the Arlo Pro malfunctions, I noticed that the remaining cameras were rapidly losing battery charge. Also, I kept on getting messages that the batteries were too cold to recharge on all cameras. Another email message was that the other batteries were running low. I suspect that for exterior applications these cameras should be restricted to Southern California - type weather conditions and should be no more than fifty feet from the base station. They sure as heck don't function properly in my modest suburban New York home. In November. Another minor aggravation is the latency in video monitoring. Sometimes (not all the time, to be fair) as much as twenty seconds passes before recording starts. Also, logging onto the system is restricted to one user at a time. I kept on getting "bumped" when my wife logged in from another source. I've only briefly hinted at my troubles with their customer service. Suffice it to say that my continued ownership of this product is very much in doubt. I truly wanted to like the Arlo Pro; the video quality, even at 50% of maximum quality, is outstanding. But that's it. All of the glowing reviews on this site for this system have me mystified...

Too many issues with the system
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for something more reliable, I'd suggest going with a hardwired surveillance camera system. I was truly disappointed at the Arlo Pro camera systems performance. From the beginning, I had no issues connecting the first camera to the base station. When I tried to connect the second camera, I had plenty of issues doing so. The second camera would connect for a few minutes, but would eventually lose connection. I noticed that the battery was low, so I decided to charge the camera thinking that this might solve the issue. When I tried to charge the battery, I noticed that there was no light, so I left it for a few hours. After I connected the camera to the base station, I noticed that the camera did not charge! I am still having this issue, and will contact Arlo to see what can be done about this. So far, it's been a pain dealing with this system. Another issue that I constantly have is when I try to remotely access the cameras. I get constant error messages telling me that they are unable to connect. This is definitely a problem since the point of having a camera system is to be able to keep surveillance and be able to connect immediately. I was truly disappointed yet again. What I did like about this camera system is the fact that they are audio equipped. You are able to listen to what is going on around your home, and even speak through the cameras. This is helpful, as I have lots of packages coming in every week. I can talk through the cameras and let the delivery person know where to set my packages when I am not home. The cameras also have an alarm that can be turned on remotely if you want to scare someone away. In all, if you are looking for reliability, I would say go with a hardwired system. There are still too many flaws with this system, and I just can't see myself putting much trust in this system. I do have a hardwired system aside from this, and have never experienced these types of issues with it. The only upside that I see with Arlo's system are the features that I explained above.

Great Security Camera System!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From the packaging to the setup this was a very easy and fast experience. The packaging was organized and very easy to get it setup. I really liked the way you pair the cameras to the system. The app which controls everything is very easy to use and depending on your internet speed is fast. The cameras are clear and you have settings to either reduce/add the brightness which does help in sunny days. I like that you can add a schedule as the notifications are very spot on so that needs to be adjusted or you need to turn your notifications off. I have other camera systems and I can attest that the Arlo is accurate and doesn't miss an event. The two-way communication works very well. I would highly recommend this camera system. Note: I only used this system indoors but would like to use outdoors but we had a recent cold spell of sub temperature days and felt the batteries would not last a day.

Best wifi Security Camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the 2 camera with Bay Station kit and the images taken with the Arlo Pro has been more clear than the previous model. Battery life is awesome, lasting 98% in 3 weeks already. I found it's motion sensor is much more improve rendering less false positive for cars and trucks going by my street. This one integrates well with older Bay Stations plus 7 days of continuous saved recording without charge. Check youtube on more reviews also.

Not a bad buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For what it is it does the job, compromise of wifi no cables for some quality. Speakers could have been better. You almost have to yell to be heard. Price is kinda steep but this was up and running with 4 cams in about 30min. No issues what so ever as this is a true plug and play immediately. I plan to buy a few more cams and upgrade the service plan to accommodate more cams. I hope more updates come. Would like to see what they come up with next.

So far.., Great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had my 4 camera Arlo Pro system for approximately a month now and have been very pleased. The set-up to program the system with my existing home wi-fi was very straight forward and simple. There are no bulky recording/storage systems, just a router-type device to connect the cameras to your existing wi-fi router. The Arlo cameras are rechargeable, and have held an excellent charge. I use this for monitoring the outside of my home, and the biggest challenge I think anyone will find is where to actually position the camera's.

GOOD CAMERA SYSTEM BUT ALERTS ARE INCONSISTENT
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have both Arlo Pro and Pro2. Arlo system is good for general observation of property line. Of concern is the inconsistent motion detection and alerts. Did not detect the FedEx truck and the postal deliverer. I have walked through the observation area and sometimes the Arlo system will detect my motion when I depart the area, instead of when I made my way intruding into the area. I was hoping the Pro2 would make up for the limitations of the 720p cameras, but sometimes, performance is disappointing. But for general purpose observation, the colors are bright and night IR are good.

Arlo de-supporting products purchased 5 years ago
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased and installed two Arlo Pro 2 cameras in 2018, then added a third in 2019. Now we're told Arlo will no longer support these devices after a mere five years of ownership. While this type of change is not uncommon, it historically applies to outdated technologies and/or products which are well over 10-15 years old. The decision to de-support products which I purchased less than five years ago is irresponsible and reprehensible, demonstrating a complete lack of concern for customers. I tried chatting with customer service, and, after dealing with their useless chatbot, I was informed I'm not entitled to customer support because I don't pay for a subscription service. More evidence that this company should be avoided.
