I viewed the cameras the sales person had in her house and was "sold". My husband is disabled and at home alone during the day, so I needed something reliable that I could use to keep an eye on him. I set the cameras up...very easy! No problem, everything was working fine when I went to bed. The next day when I got up, I checked on them...NOT ONE of the cameras was online. So, I checked the internet...nothing was running on it, but it was working. I checked my phone and it worked fine on the internet; I checked Netflix, it came on and worked fine. So, I reset the Arlo base station, reset the modem, reset the router and rechecked...my other internet items worked. I checked the cameras...NONE were onling. So, I tried to re-pair one to the base station...it came on; re-paired the next one to the base station and it came on; re-paired the third one to the base station and all three cameras went black. After hours of trying to get these things back online, I packed them in a box and took them back to Best Buy. They offered me a replacement pack, but I was in no mood to deal with them again. I purchased a 3 pack of Nest and I absolutely love them! I can keep an eye on my husband and converse with him via the cameras; now I'm looking to add more to my house and yard.

I have returned this system after less than a week of owning it. The hardware seems fine. The image quality and field of view are pretty good. There seems to be an enormous software problem. I tried using these in geofencing mode. It doesn't work. I get a notification stating that the system is armed when I leave and disarmed when I get back home. The problem is that the system is not actually armed. My girlfriend stopped home for lunch several times when I was at work and the cameras did not detect motion. She had not yet downloaded the app so the system had no idea if she was a trusted person or an intruder. I finally gave up on geofencing mode and decided I would just arm the system when I leave from work. I armed it today from my phone app after I left. Upon returning home, the motion detectors did not activate the cameras even though the system was still armed. I opened the app to find that the system was in fact disarmed without any user input. This system is unreliable and should not be trusted. Are you really going to spend $250+ on something that doesn't work? I'm not.

Good camera if you just want to record small happenings. Will not work through windows. Must be outdoors. This is the reason I need to return it. I need to put it in a front window to monitor vandalism in the front yard. It cannot be outside as it can be seen and reached. Only comes in white - there are skins you can buy to change the color. Records only short segments. Once the motion is detected then it will record up to 120 seconds. However the audio I could only find it recorded about 16-20 seconds (maybe the duration of the sound) There is a delay when recording. it's an okay camera however it's not suited for what I need it to do.

I'm sorry we wasted our money on this product. They're sleek in design and easy to install. The batteries charge quickly. If you need something very sensitive, this is the one for you. It activated when it started snowing!. We adjusted the sensitivity so that's no longer a problem. Those are the only good things about this product. It's not the product's fault that the birds attack them regularly. Unless the design (white housing, black front plate) tricks the birds into thinking they're bird houses. Our three main complaints are: 1. The delay time before they start recording is horrible. We've received packages on our porch that seem to have appeared magically because they will be there but there is no footage of anyone coming on to, or leaving, the porch. We've tried adjusting settings but nothing's helped. 2. We can hear sound on them but cannot talk back. No matter how LOUD we talk, no one on the other end can hear us. I've seen videos where a little girl is talking to a delivery man through the system. Uh, no. Not happening. 3. I used to get notifications on my phone but all of a sudden they stopped. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I've checked settings in both the app and my phone. No luck. I still get emails but, since I choose not to get notifications every time I get any kind of email, I don't know when the cameras activate until I check my email. That's not very helpful if I check two hours after my house has been burglarized. This is so useless it's like I don't even have a security system. Save your money and buy a different brand.

Cameras are super easy to setup, operate, and for the most part do a great job. We use ours nightly and when out of town. No major glitches other than occasional bird setting off motion alarm. My biggest gripe is battery life. When we first started using these cameras, we went 6 months before a charge! After the first charge the batteries have cut their life cycle down to needing a charge about every two weeks. This is unacceptable for a battery that once lasted 6 months with regular use. The wireless part was my biggest draw to this platform. I’m disappointed in the battery life for sure.

I am meticulous and at least once a month I have to change batteries and adjust my motion sensor sensitivity. Last night we had an incident involving some shady types who drove into our driveway and when we tried to access footage to give police license plate or description. Both Arlo cameras pointing in the direction missed them. The police men both agreed Arlo is not reliable. Not happy!!

I purchase this to setup it for my friend Townhouse. It was very easy and we do within 30 minutes. So far no complaint from and be able to view and receive motion inside the house when there is motion.

Arlo cameras have a predetermined “end of life”. Additionally, the most recent update has left our cameras useless. Good luck getting a support person you can understand. Do your research and proceed with caution.

Nice and easy set up. However alarm is useless. Camera quality good. Sound is so poor coming from the cameras. Phone sound good. Ready to return product!

The phone was easy to set up. Worked well when it was working, HOWEVER the base station continued drop off the network. Very unreliable.

Purchased these because I do not have electrical near my desired spots. worked well for about 2 weeks until the moment came i had to charge them. Their proprietary charging brick and system sucks badly.Kept telling me the brick is unsupported or didnt even register it was pliugged in. its almost as if they want to force you to purchase their separate battery charger box at 60 bucks. quality was good but if i cant get them to charge correctly on the first go why would I want these? returning these to get a PoE system.

Cons: Two-way audio - speaking through the cameras into your house, the sound is muffled and cannot be heard over a TV, loud dishwasher, or kids' voices. The audio out of the house is better. Video - the video quality is terrible. They say it may be a result of your upload speed, but I upload over 5 mbps and it is still terrible, even on the highest quality setting. Battery life - the battery life isn't the best. After four days on the wall, the cameras have lost over 10% of battery life with the worst two cameras losing 24% and 36% of battery life. Pros: Mounting. These are easy peesy to mount. Range of view- the range of view is very good. We put one in our basement and it can see down both sides of the L shaped room. Recording options - these are easy to set for motion recording or to record at the push of a button. It's also easy to view. App - just as reliable as the website I would only recommend these to folks who haven't been able to find something better. We tried out a cheaper Chinese system and the video was excellent. They did not, however have two way audio (which is really a waste on these Arlo cameras because you can't hear someone talking to you from outside of the house) and the app was terrible. We bought these based on PC Magazines recommendation and the 4.3/5 stars on Best Buy. They really aren't all that great, though. These are the types of cameras that record bad guys stealing stuff or committing a crime, but you can't get a good enough picture of the criminals face and you ask "why didn't that store have a better camera system?"

Pros: yay. A battery. No cable needed. The motion detection does notify you when movement is detected, but usually it is just the wind in a bush. It is overly-sensitive, but has a huge delay. So, I get lots of spam telling my bushes have moved. Cons: The battery life is abysmal. I live on a very quiet street, and the battery died in about a month. The estimate of 4-6 months must assume that you don't get any gentle breezes that rustle the bushes or trees. They advertise 5 minutes of footage a day, which (at 15 second clips) means you get 20 worthless little recordings a day. My batteries have died, and it isn't even worth it to go recharge them. I'll probably try and craigslist it to recover as much as I can from it, so I can go get a ring doorbell. The video clips are delayed, so you miss the first part of any 'event'. I mounted the camera to cover my sidewalk and path up to my house so I could see people approaching. The delay on the video feed is bad enough that it doesn't start recording until AFTER they are under the awning, in my particular situation. The video clips are so short (15 seconds), so you don't get any significant footage of the 'event'. I get footage of a partial shoulder standing at my front door for 15 seconds, or the trunk of a car as it passes by followed by 13 seconds of nothing. The delay between clips is way too long. The next clip is usually record as the person leaves (worst case scenario - with whatever package they stole). Fortunately I haven't had that happen yet. Here is what happened with my front camera. I have the camera covering a good area of the front, my driveway, front yard, walkway and most of the street in front of my house. It is *ideally situated* for capturing the whole front, except for right at my front door due to the overhang. 1) The person drove their car in front of my house. They got to the very outermost corner of the image, where I can't get any useful footage, stopped and waited. This is when the camera started recording, so I got a brief clip of the rear of their car with no detail other than it was a dark SUV. The clip stopped as they put it in reverse and started backing up to my driveway. 2) The person backed into my driveway, got out of the car, walked around to my front door, and rang the bell. Then the second video clip started recording, missing all of the above. 3) It captures about 10 seconds of them by my front door - but again, due to the small overhang this is the one area I don't get good video. It shows them turn and walk towards my driveway, and then the clip ends. I did get a good shot of the side of their vehicle, but only because it was now parked in my driveway. 4) There is no additional footage of them walking to my Jeep, putting a note on it, getting in their SUV, and driving away. Fortunately, they were just interested in asking me if I wanted to sell my Jeep. However, if they were stealing a package, I would only be able to tell the police it was a dark SUV with a broken window, and a person wearing dark clothing. I wish I had returned it when I had the chance. Now I am going to go buy a Ring doorbell.

I had worst experience with these camera'. I haven't used the camera at all and when I tried to use them - I have found that the batteries we not at all working. Talked with a best buy representative, but never got any proper response from them.

Installed 10/252016. Account, app and router took about 15 min to set up. Excellent signal strength. Mounting brackets work excellent. Clarity is excellent. Batteries come fully charged. I am happy so far with this purchase.

We purchased this security camera because it was wire less and having a wired camera would be a hassle to put it up for my husband. Anyways we had it up for couple of weeks, we put them up outside and it is a little slow when you look from your phone its about 10 seconds behind but that of course bcuz of the distance where the internet modem and camera was. The battery drained too fast, on one of the cameras it was 50% down in 2 1/2 weeks, imagine going up to take of the camera every month to charge battery so it could work for you, it stated about 5-6 months I believe but deffinetly wont last that long especially outdoor. The quality sucks, you can't even see license plate or faces clearly. The other thing is it would not let you record continuously and only lets you record for a little amount of time and if something is going on and you have it for 1min of recording you might be lucked out after that 1min bcuz it sometimes doesn't record after. On some motion movements it did not record when we had someone coming over or drive by so its not very accurate with motion sensors and I have put them on high sensitivity. I returned it after testing it, going to buy something with better quality and wired. I can only suggest this if you will be using this indoor, deffinetly not for outdoors. Oh and you will be paying for storage for videos to be stored after 3 months.

Purchased this unit because it was advertised to have broadcast and listen capabilities, unlike previous version which did not. The audio from the camera is quite acceptable but the audio to the camera is nearly completely inaudible. In essence it is just the same old video-only Arlo for much more money. This will be returned because it does not do what it advertised it would do. If all you need is video it is acceptable, but you can save a great deal of money by simply purchasing the first generation of Arlo. I am purchasing Samsung SmartCam HD since it does have audio as well as video capabilities.

So disappointed to find out that these cameras don't pick up motion until 5'-10' away from camera. If you watch live, the camera looks great and appears to have awesome range. But it's the motion sensor that is really poor. And the camera only records when motion is detected. Essentially by the time it starts recording you end up filming the top or back of their head or nothing at all as the person is already out of picture. I have one camera mounted above garage and literally all I get At most is 1 second of recording. If you turn up sensitivity, then it false triggers every 10 min. Everything else is so cool it's a shame that Arlo Pro is terrible at the basic function for what these are truly needed for. Was planning on buying another set for my vacation home but will run a wired system with better cameras after seeing the limitations of Arlo.

I am on the fence about this product. I live on a very busy street. The battery life is going to drive me crazy I think. The cameras were up for 3 days, before 2 needed to be recharged. This is the entire purpose of the wireless system!!!!! The one day I needed the camera, it was offline for charging. Now I am going to have to spend even more money to have an extra set of batteries. This is VERY expensive system to be such a battery hog.

I've had the 4 camera system for 3 days now. This system is a glorified web cam setup. The motion detection is horrendous! It will pick up a car from half a block away but will not pick me up leaving my front door and getting in my car and driving off, mind you all in plain view of 2 cameras. Video quality is lackluster at 720p. Won't pick up and licenses plates or important details. Forget about using sound detection, it will pick up a mosquito's flatulance at the lowest setting. Camera basically picks up everything I don't want and nothing it needs to. Just put out my flag for the 4th and one camera is going crazy with the motion detection. It will pick up the flag blowing in the wind but won't pick me up walk past it just a few feet away. This system will do nothing I believe in catching anything worthwhile god forbid someone tries to break into your home. My father in law came by today. Parked in view of one camera, walk all the way to the front door across the cameras view and the only think that recorded was the storm door closing behind him when he was in the house yet the camera will record a car half way down the block driving by lmao! Do yourselves a favor and go with something else. The only thing you can do with this camera is show your friends and say hey look what I have! Garbage at best. You dropped the ball on this one netgear. The only thing that can save this system is to allow continuous local recording and storage but god know what that will do to battery life. Time to return and buy an wired system.
