Arlo Cameras Are a Great DIY Security System

I bought this camera to add on to my 4-camera Arlo system. When researching CCTV systems to begin with, I really liked the total wirelessness of the Arlo system along with the fact you can have up to 5 cameras on your system with no monthly subscription costs. The cameras provide good video, both day and night, and work well in the weather here in southeast Michigan. I've only had about 3 days in about 3 years' time when it was too cold for one or two of the cameras. The battery life varies a little bit based on how much motion the cameras detect, but they're pretty true to the advertised ~6 months. They charge back up in a couple hours.
I'm very satisfied with the Arlo system overall. I'm not sure this 1080p camera is that much better than my other 4 720p cameras. I'd recommend either if you're looking for a CCTV solution.

These cameras are easy to setup and add additional cameras later just as I did. Wireless and very clear picture. Batteries last about 5 or 6 weeks before needing charging (depending on activity) highly recommended

I dreaded getting a security system due to my lack of IT skills, I’m amazed how easy these were to set up, Literally take out of the box, pull the battery tape off the back, power up, download app, link to my wifi & and screw to outdoor siding, it was so easy I went back and got 3 more to get every spot around a 3700 sq ft home.
What’s interesting is my cell, & Ipad lose signal outside but these don’t. My Ipad gives me a split monitor screen right out to Mission impossible. Amazing for a total rookie and picture quality as good as any photos I could shoot.

I own and have the Arlo 720p install for surveillance of the coming and going’s of the entrance at our home. It works well for a totally wireless security camera.
I purchased the Arlo Pro 2 with expectations of getting more detail images of anyone and anything that comes within the proximity of another access area of our home and it works like a charm.
All wireless security cameras do come with pros and cons but as always, you must evaluate what works best for you and your circumstances.
Best Buy usually has it on sale for a good price which I encourage you to research before purchasing.

While the Arlo Pro 2 is an entry level security camera, its packed full of features and has great picture quality. Completely wireless but can also be powered by an Arlo Outdoor Weatherproof Cord or a Solar Charging attachment. The ease of setup and installation is a major plus for anyone. The app povides a straight-forward interface that is user friendly. The ability to set zones allows you to better manage notifications, and monitor the more important areas of your property without catching miscellaneous movement such as trees, or passing cars. Best paired with an Arlo Smart package!

We purchased this after a neighborhood break in, but we already had thought about it before that for when we were out of town. We love the ability to just look in on the house when we are gone, and it makes the anxiety of coming home to something wrong go away! It was easy to set up, and works consistently well for us. We have learned a lot about the nocturnal wildlife around our home! I love that I can turn off cameras easily when they are getting tripped by a persistent bug or bird, and have also found that the batteries last very well - usually it is about 3 months between recharging, but it depends on how much it gets tripped. It notifies you about the charge needed. Great purchase!

I bought this camera to replace a base Arlo camera. Set up was easy and was compatible with my existing arlo base station. Though my previous camera had 1080p resolution, this camera seems to record better quality video. It is extremely sensitive, however, and as a result will record video almost every minute, even when the sensitivity is lowered (I went to as low as 30%). As expected battery life suffers immensely and the camera was at 15% in about 4 days. Still impressive, given the amount of video that was recorded. I will definitely invest in the all weather charger from Wasserstein to avoid having to charge it and set up the activity zones to reduce the number of recordings

Great video quality and easy to set up. Compared the 1080p to the 720p cameras and the 1080 is def. better but I think the connection to the cameras could be better. Like others have said, once you get get a notification, you’d have to log in to the app then the app would take 10-15 seconds to connect to the camera. By then the object/person detected is already gone. I hope this is addressed in a future update. Otherwise works as intended, although still pricey.....

I bought these cameras two years ago and have added a few cameras since. I have a combination of Arlo and Arlo 2 cameras that work together on the same base station. I am up to five cameras and it costs me nothing to check my saved videos for 7 days. Arlo charges a plan fee for the Arlo 3 and 4. Good quality videos and the battery lasts anywhere between one and three months depending on the amount of traffic. If you want a good quality camera that doesn't charge a fee, get the Arlo or Arlo 2.

Camera is an improvement from 720. I really like the fact that you can set a "smaller" region for the alarm to go off rather than the entire field of vision. This is a good feature, however the downside is that it must have permanent power for this feature to work.

The system was easy to install on my own, simple to set up and operate, and I am able to effectively monitor from 7500 miles away. So far the solar panel is keeping the one camera charged, but it needs an extension piece/ longer stud for me to get the best angles. I have 5 cameras and while I am happy with the system, the price was pretty high, even on sale. Im disappointed best buy ended its military discount program, too. I have had to restart the unit twice, once remotely, but the cameras came back online each time.

I ordered this to go with the set I already had, I always felt like I needed at least one more camera. It was easy to install, charge and was working in no time at all.
I love the fact that no matter what the weather, it works, you can speak to whomever you need through the app which comes in handy at times. It syncs pretty quickly and it's like I purchased it with the original set. I will most likely purchase another, I have 5, but I think 6 is the magic number and Arlo is definitely the way to go,

It's a great camera! We have one on our front porch at our cabin! Also on the back porch & we bought 2 more to place in other areas! The first of the month there was a Bobcat on the Arlo-Pro 2 video camera about 3 AM! It has great pictures during the day & pretty good ones at night! Our neighbor gives a thumbs up on it to let us know everything is OK when he checks on the cabin! It even shows spiders! It's easy to install! My husband did it by himself! It's wireless!
