We had some security issues at our house, and we had no video evidence, so I jumped online to find the best (and easiest) camera system I could find. I found Arlo and I am really happy with the purchase. Definitely not the cheapest, but Arlo is worth every penny. I highly recommend!

Can't get speaker to work on camera. When I went to Geek Squad Best Buy to get help, after waiting 20 min, they told me I needed to contact an in house Geek person, which would cost me 50.00. I called the number I was given. That person called me back. They sent me a downloaded manual and told me the page numbers of the questions that I had. I have the 200.00 Geek Squad protection plan.

Good cameras with good technology. Battery life is debatable, especially in cold weather. I order to be useful for security probably will need to add subscription.

Great video clarity! The lag between the live and notifications is what set the rating at 4 starts. Maybe the pro4 took care of that lag but my system lags 5-10 seconds

Awesome cameras! They catch all kinds of movement and occasionally too much! I've had to turn down the sensitivity so we don't get a million notifications of trees moving. But it knows the difference between the movements. People, cars, animals. Really awesome!

I have had a Blink 4-camera system at my home for a year and love it. My problem was that I wanted to be able to view my daughter's cameras when she is out of town and they haven't set anything up to make that an easy process with the Blink. I started looking into a new system and everywhere I looked, the Arlo was the top pick. I figured I would spend more money and get a great system, but this is not the solution. The daylight video is fine, but no better than the blink, but the night vision is horrible. With my Blink camera, I could clearly see the animals in my yard (deer, skunks, cats, possums, etc.). CLEARLY see them. With this system, you can see a shadowy figure of the deer and that's all it picks up. I'm sure there are other animals walking by but it doesn't pick them up. Another big issue is when you get an alert, it doesn't go to the page that has the video. You have go to another page and it takes at least 15 seconds for it to pull up. That's an absolute security failure. I didn't realize that it is run from a "hub" that is connected to the wi-fi. I live on an acre and my house is about in the middle of it, so I got an extender to put in the garage to give me service as far back as I need it. I wanted one of the cameras on my garage, which is maybe 40 feet from my house, but It wouldn't connect with the hub. I wanted one behind my garage, but that was also too far. I was told to try the hub out in my garage plugged into the extender, which was then great for the garage and the other 2 in the backyard, but the one in the front of the house was too far from the hub. I can't understand how a very affordable Blink system is so much better than this $800 system (I bought it for almost $500). I'm returning it and will set my Blink up again. I highly encourage anyone that wants something other than indoor security to steer clear of this system.

Great product. I like the feature where it zooms and tracks animals/person/vehicle. However, there is a negative. I’ve been an Arlo user for years with their now “Legacy Cameras” (Q and Baby). They allowed 7 day free cloud video. Now that I’ve added the new Arlo Pro 3 cameras, I have to pay for all my cameras to be on an Arlo Smart subscription Inorder for them all to record. I originally believed only the Arlo 3 would need to be on this plan, but once I initiated paying, Arlo stopped the recording support for my legacy cameras. So now, I have to pay for all 15 of my cameras to record.

A pretty good home security system

I went with the Arlo because my current alarm system had to be replaced. The new alarm had a monthly monitoring fee of $65 which was pretty expensive. Once nice feature is that the alarm system had window sensors, movements sensors as well as being able to work even when the AC power was down. The Arlo is a decent surveillance system. With a large property, it was cheaper for me to buy two complete systems as I needed eight cameras. The cameras have a decent resolution (3K) but its range is pretty limited to about 20-30 feet as the sensor does not do so well after that, so i needed overlapping coverage. I still have to fine-tune the sensitivity as it keeps giving false alerts. When one camera is triggered, I can program to have adjacent cameras activate at the same time to observe the area. I can also have all the cameras turn on the sirens when one is triggered. Still, with eight sirens sounding off, the system is pretty soft. Recharging the batteries requires you to remove the camera from the mount so you can remove the battery from the camera housing. This means you have to realign the camera after recharging. The package comes with two magnetic and two flimsy screw in mounts, I ended up buying the optional Arlo mounts which are more substantial. Pros: * Compact, easy to install * Decent camera * Relatively cheap (bought eight camera system for $1100) Cons: * Each camera has its own siren which is pretty weak. I had to synch all the cameras to sound the alarm at once to get decent sound * Battery-based system which is supposed to good for 60-90 days between charges * External mounts sold separately at $15 each * Removing batteries to recharge requires you to readjust mounting of camera * Hard to adjust sensitivity, too many false alarms * Requires subscription to record videos online, $15/month * App design could be better, only allows one admin to be logged in at any time * While the cameras are battery powered, any power outage will take down the base unit which also requires internet access.

Great quality cameras. Only thing is that if you don't get the subscription, you can only view the recorded videos when you are connected to your camera wifi router.

This Arlo set up was highly recommended to me by a co-worker and it is exactly what was promised. Very easy set-up process and great monitoring ability. The cameras pick up on the smallest detail and animals. I would recommend this set-up to anyone.

Note that Arlo is just for cameras, but don’t bash them for it. They don’t claim to have a full inside alarm system. Their cameras are great though and have been a breeze setting up and getting things going!
