Good Security camera system with OK battery life
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this Security Camera System during the holiday deals at Best Buy. Pros: The package that the 2-Camera System and the base (and other accessories) came in was pretty easy to unbox. The batteries were on the heavy side; hopefully will be able to hold a charge for quiet a while but, YMMV. This upgraded model comes with 2 2K Resolution (2560X1440) security cameras which is pretty great for capturing objects with more clarity and little more accurately. In my opinion, going from a security camera that is able to output 720p or full HD to one that is up to 2K is a major step-up. One is able to capture something at night since the sensor allow the flash to be activated when they spot some movement in the area. What I like about this most is it will send you a notification of what it thinks it captured before you even open the recording on the app. Although I never tested to see if connecting a physical hard drive to it for recording ongoing surveillance of our surrounding would work, the fact that the feature is there adds it to the "premium" category. The cameras are each housed in a casing that is weather proof and protects the delicate parts while mounted outdoor. Cons: Battery life is dependent on camera placement and how strong your wi-fi bandwidth is, especially if your router is distant from where you will place the cameras (generally your camera system will need sufficient energy source to send feeds to the cloud or storage and less bandwidth will eat more battery). Two different mounting solutions are found in the package requiring a separate purchase to install security cameras more securely. This shouldn't be the case for a high-end system. The recording for the camera can be sluggish sometimes especially if you have slow internet and there is a 10-15 second delay in recording something than when you actually see it happen for real. Price is a major factor why I chose to purchase the Security Camera System by Arlo over the others. IF you can find it on sale for a decent discount then by all means, go for it ;-) Conclusion: While the Arlo Pro 3 wire-free security camera system may not be the best choice for someone with a house without a high bandwidth internet or wi-fi network, this is something to consider over the other kinds of Surveillance Systems out there. Just make sure you know about the added features that you may or may not need. Good luck

Great video and recording quality.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, the installation, setup and app are super easy. The camera quality for recording, live view and audio are fantastic. The battery life is excellent for the cameras that are placed in lesser active areas, where the battery life for the cameras placed in more active areas is mediocre. Not a deal breaker though. Would overall recommend these cameras. Especially for someone who wants to set up a system in less than 1 hour and have a really simple and user friendly interface. The 9.99 a month after the trial period is well worth it to keep everything at your fingertips and cloud storage.

Solid performer but has some bugs.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased the system along with the Arlo video doorbell. We went with the better quality cameras thinking they would be better. The system is very easy to install and has a good app that controls the devices. They are directly connected to a fast connection however streaming feeds can take minutes to pull the feed up. Also, their battery life ratings must be if the camera is turned off as battery life was deemed marginal after a couple days and had to be recharged. They also go "offline" regularly. The Alro troubleshooting is lackluster and doesn't seem to be help.

Good camera system overall, but a little pricey
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The cameras were easy to set up, and the app and website are very straight forward to use. I think the system overall is great, but what you get in the box is a little expensive, especially considering you WILL have to buy additional accessories immediately. The batteries do not last two weeks in a high traffic area that sees a lot of action. Beware kit only contains 2 outdoor mounting brackets. Crystal clear video, huge field of view, night light option really captures video in the pitch black.

Good, Nearly Great
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the black so it isn’t as noticeable as the white. Easy install, easy to connect to the hub and my WiFi. Clear, crisp display. A 3-5 second delay in the view. You can create zones for notifications and turn on/off detection for people, animals, vehicles, and/or regular motion. Don’t delay in buying the two-battery charger, you’ll need it faster than you think. Battery life states up to three months, but if you live in the suburbs expect no more than three weeks.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very very easy to set up. I would give it five stars but you have to recharge the battery about every two weeks so that is the only pain that I have come across. (Unless you purchase some additional charging ports). Great video and great night time video. Can drive you crazy when you are sneaking to the refrigerator for a late night snack and have different security lights pop on, makes you think twice about going to the refrigerator and I am losing weight!

Great upgrade from older ARLO system
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have an older ARLO camera system that was purchased in approximately 2014. We needed another set of cameras for a lake house and decided the ease of set up with wireless ARLO was worth giving the newer versions a try. The ARLO Pro 3 is SO MUCH BETTER than our older ARLO. We've had the Pro 3 system in use for approximately 7 months and really like it. The app is very easy to use, the cameras do a good job of letting you know what set it off (animal, motion, or person). The Pro 3 motion sensor turns the cameras on much faster than the previous generation, thus doing a great job of capturing what is on our property. Picture clarity is great during the day, the night vision is in black and white and not nearly as crisp and clear. I'm not sure it would give a great picture of someone's face at night, but I can certainly tell the cats, raccoons, possums, and other animals that like to visit our dock with regularity. We have had zero problems with battery longevity. We have 3 cameras outside, and in the last 7 months, I have only needed to charge one of them. One just succumbed a day or two ago, but I think it's because of our record low temperatures over the last week. In fairness, these cameras are at a second home and don't see that much action. The dock camera gets the most use (anywhere from zero to 5 times a day or more) and needed to be charged after approximately 3 or 4 months. In summary, the Pro 3 is a huge upgrade from our older generation ARLO. They are much faster to turn on and record, the picture quality is improved, the addition of sound is wonderful, love that you charge the batteries instead of buying the expensive and hard to find CR123's that didn't last long, turning the cameras on manually from the app has been easy and without problems, the 2 way communication has been spotty. I tried to use it while my husband was on the dock. I could hear him, he couldn't hear me. I think perhaps the dock camera is too far away from the base. I haven't tried with the other 2 cameras. Also, we are experiencing record low temperatures in mid Missouri, well below zero and with the windchill around -20 or so. At this temperature, the dock camera said it was too cold to work. The cameras around the house are more insulated and did continue to work. If you live in an area that experiences very cold temperatures regularly, this may be a problem for you. I recommend the Pro 3. We are planning to update our main home system to a newer version of ARLO, either the Pro 3 or Pro 4. I need to research the Pro 4 to see the differences. I know I would be happy with the Pro 3's performance.

Price: Expensive. Overall: Awesome
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great looks, sturdy in handling, awesome quality video, easy install, ability to watch live, record, sense motion (and be able to change threshold), user friendly app, free 7-day cloud storage and many other features. Do expect 3-5 seconds of lag since the processing and internet are not perfect yet. I hope that prices eventually come down - electronics and internet have come a long way and even though the demand for these cameras is still high, Arlo can improve the supply by lowering the price or offer promotions frequently atleast to previous owners of Arlo.

Not as good as they should be
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded, or so I thought, from the Arlo Q camera set. I was using the Q for indoor and outdoor use even though it's not meant for outdoor. I had 1 setup for the front door and was covered under our porch and it worked just fine. I loved the fact it had free storage for 7 days through the cloud. The Pro 3 cameras don't have quite the same quality as the Q's do. They claim to have 2k quality but I noticed they are more grainy than the Q. My biggest complaint with these camera's is the setup within the app. Going from Q, I thought it would be the same. I was way wrong. I had each of my Q's setup to record during specific times of day. You cannot do that with the Pro 3. Well, you can but it is extremely difficult. You can't setup each camera, rather, you have to create rules for cameras and then setup a schedule and add rules and hope those rules work within the schedule you want. Way too difficult to figure out for the price of these. Netgear should make their app a little more user friendly. So, I'm returning these and having some wired camera's installed today so I don't have to worry about it anymore. Battery life isn't bad but you probably won't get 6 months. Maybe 3 before needing to be charged. AND....you only get 1 charger in a pack of 2 which is stupid. If you just want a completely wireless camera for basic use, this wouldn't be bad but I'd probably try to find another set if I were you

Does the job
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this because I did not want to deal with running cables throughout my two story house to get to where I wanted to place the cameras externally. The set was easy to set up, did automatic firmware updates as soon as I booted it up, and the cameras were easy to sync and put up. I did have to take 1 star away because there are times when I'm trying to look at a live feed from my phone or computer and the camera either shows offline (rarely) or there is a 10-15 delay just to bring up the live view; and when you're trying to see what's going right at that moment, it gets really frustrating. Once in live view, the delay between live and what you see on your device is only about 2 seconds. The picture is great in daylight, and good in low light. It helps that the cameras do have a built in light. The mic and speaker in the camera also are good. I can hear clearly what's being said in when in live view or viewing recordings, and people can hear me clearly when I'm talking through the device. To keep the best functionality with Arlo, you will need to buy in to their monthly subscription though. Wireless security cameras will be pricier than wired. Keep that in mind. It just depends on if you want to run cables or pay someone to run cables for you.

Good quality cameras record in 2k
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great picture quality, easy to install, wireless wifi, two way audio, overall great investment if you are trying to keep your property monitored even while out of the country. The only down side is if you have heavy traffic flow where the camera is pointed it will die within a few days do to constant motion detection. I would recommend to also purchase the solar panel charger that best buys sells so you don't have to go up and down ladders to re-charge your Arlo camera.

Was kind of disappointed because I usually love my
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was not impressed this time. I have older Arlo wireless cams that I think work better as a whole. I was excited but after trying them out I was disappointed fairly quick. First, a couple of the cams kept showing low internet bars, yet all 4 were right next to each other. I have very high speed internet and as already mentioned have older arlos that work with no issues. I simply wanted to upgrade because these had the spotlight and I saw they had accessories for solar power etc. Another problem is the base kept going out and it literally was in thr room with the router. Also one camkept making a clicking sound for no reason. Thats not good. I got the set on sale for $500 but thats still pretty hefty when you have connection issues clicking sounds and I almost forgot to mention, the nighvision sucks badly. Very disappointed there. I saw others preview about it as well and thought maybe they just needed to play with settings. Nope, their right. Last I dont like how the cams have a very narrow bottom where I feel they could fall easily if you do not need to hook them to a mount. Although these are made for outdoor they perfect for garage and basement too. I use other arlo cams indoor and out as needed. I still believe in arlo, but I will wait for the next new cam set. This one is not for me.

Pretty good!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has a clear picture during the day and at night with the built in light for motion. Cameras are easy to use and mount. Make sure when setting them up you keep in mind the wireless WiFi connect, the farther away the lower the signal on it. If you plan on using all four batteries, buy extra batteries or use solar power to recharge your batteries. I also bought the quick battery docking station to help charge batteries faster. Overall I’m happy with my purchase.

Great remote monitoring system!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy install and setup and flawless operation. In constant operation for 2 weeks, the batteries are at 93% capacity. The bundle comes with a 3-month subscription for on-line video storage. I can monitor my home from anywhere and the system sends me alerts to any motion within their 160-degree field of view. I recommend the purchase of extra batteries so that the cameras do not have to be removed from their mounts for charging.

good camera
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.easy to setup and compact. good quality picture. I was able to plug in external usb drive to arlo base and store videos there. Battery life is not as good. After 4 weeks of use with 6 events per day recording, the battery was down to 70%. I also bought Eufy cam 2 at the same time, which was $100 cheaper. The quality and detection between Arlo and Eufy is somewhat comparable. The positive thing about Arlo is the notification will say it detects human, or animal. To get this feature, you will need the arlo subscription. The cam mount is good, as I can swivel it to any angle, compared with the more limited angle from Eufy. I wanted security cam so it can detect deer that tend to eat our garden. I returned Arlo eventually, and kept Eufy as I didn't feel like paying Arlo monthly subscription, and needing to recharge every 3 months, where which requires me to bring out my tall and heavy ladder to. If you don't mind the subscription fees and needing to recharge every 3 months, go for it.

Great picture
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I chose this Arlo for the wireless connectivity. I wanted to be able to place cameras closer to the street. I have cameras on my house but I needed a better view of cars or people in the street. We mounted them in trees in feont of our house, about 15 feet from the house and about 30 feet from the router. The picture is great. I have been having issues with the battery life though. I have had to change the sensitivity and what triggers it. It still only lasts about 5 days or so. I bought solar panels so we don't have to recharge the batteries so often. I chose this model because it came with a hub. From what I have found, this enables me to connect a portable hard drive so I don't have to subscribe to the cloud service. I have a total of 5 Arlo cameras so using the cloud is prohibitively expensive. The Arlo cameras were relatively easy to set up, definitely easier than the wired Lorex system that I have and the picture is so much better.

Well Built and Works Great
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bottom line: great video quality, great solid construction, and excellent cloud storage (you can download videos also) and application support. But no embedded date and time on video, and continued cloud storage features requires monthly fee. These camera are solidly built and work well. The batteries last a fairly long time, but we have a lot of activity at our house so they don't last 3 months which is stated as the average. I would recommend a high-speed internet connection since videos are uploaded to Arlo's cloud storage. Phone app is very functional, and you can configure to receive alerts. Cameras are motion activated. One deficiency is that there is no option for putting date and time on the videos - some folks have had a problem using videos in court for that reason, and there is no consistent metadata in the file to help. Only the filename contains time data, and that can be renamed, so courts don't like that (this is what I've heard - no first hand experience with this). After a three month trial, continued cloud service requires a monthly fee, but being able to monitor cameras from anywhere on my smartphone is worth it to me.
