I didn't purchase the subscription. I have an android phone and found that the geofencing feature does not reliably engage and disengage. If you don't purchase the subscription to store your clips in the cloud you can plugin a usb stick and your base station which is very nice and a must. The app still defaults to "cloud" making it appear that you're not recording so you have to figure out that it's a dropdown with a "usb" option. However, sometimes the option doesn't appear so you may not be able to view your clips until it magically appears - it's annoying. Intentional? Maybe...hey, Apple intentionally slowed down their older phones. Forget the "activity zones" feature as it doesn't work for unsubscribed owners. The zoom and follow feature works well. It doesn't always stay focused on the subject, but overall I was impressed. The video quality is high quality on the phone. I have yet to download it to my laptop. If you don't subscribe you are solely running on the motion detection built into the local unit so expect false alarms (large animals or flapping umbrella), and expect not to capture all the people all the time. For example, an Amazon delivery person walked onto my porch and set down a small package and stepped off and I never received an alert. Arlo's detection isn't great if someone is in and out of view as I just described. The delivery person had to walk 3 feet to drop off the package and then step back and the same thing happens with my mail person. It happens and I don't have the frequency down because it's just random. I would recommend this unit if you can live with the imperfection I have described. I had a much worse experience with SmartThings. Battery life is great.

I love these so much. Can’t say enough good things about them. They are reliable and almost never drop WiFi. The picture is very clear on them. Much better than you even see in stores when they are trying to catch the “bad guys.” They should invest in these cameras. The monthly fee is less than others also. Highly recommend.

Cameras set up pretty easy. The 300' line of site is a joke! Try about 80'. Highly misrepresented. Image quality is great, motion sensor works well with few false alarms. Here is the BIG PROBLEM: I am in 600 mps hardwired internet. All cameras have a full signal and are within 50' of the base. I have 5g Verizon on my 5g phone. The delay of trying to live view a camera is pathetic! Why even have them? By the time I actually connect to live view my family would be dead and my home ransacked!! I've tried every fix listed everywhere... hey Arlo... FIX THIS! much cheaper cameras have very little delay.

I was looking for an upgrade on my old system and this was exactly what I was hoping for. Great video quality as well as capturing audio along the way. Notifications seem to work great. If I have one complaint, it would be that notifications come a tad late. Roughly takes 30 seconds to receive an alert after movement is detected.

I like this system. Still trying to adjust the settings so the camera doesn’t alert/record every 12 seconds but I’m confident I’ll get there. Super easy set up and with extra batteries charged and ready to go it’s a breeze.

The cameras are good, but there are issues. Sometimes it will disconnect from the modem and sometimes you can not connect to the voice output in the camera. Sometimes we have no color. But other than that decent camera

The cameras work great. They have a good field of view and are motion sensitive. The batteries came in and only 50% charge but recharging was easy and they take a long time to run down. Set-up was also easy if you have a ladder and a drill to install the camer mounts. The night vision capability was also good.

I had an Arlo 2 system for several years and decided to upgrade. The video quality is very good with these cameras, but the connectivity has been a real headache. I have had to reset the system completely several times as the cameras disappear. I am also not happy that I have to pay for a subscription for the same level of service that was previously free.

Good quality video, battery life lasts a decent amount of time. I charge mine usually once every 1-1.5 months. Only minor issue I’ve had is the delay time between real time and what you see on the app.

really nice overall. Happy with purchase. Only thing (besides price) that would keep it from 5 stars is that I needed to buy a 2nd base. Did not covers my whole house as good as I thought i would...

I purchased to use on a large commercial construction site. I do wish they had a slightly longer wireless range. Resolution is phenomenal, batteries have been in for over two weeks and are still at 50%+, App is easy to access and use. Purchasing these for work has made me want some for home also! Extremely easy and intuitive set up.

Great wireless cameras if you have a good phone provider and internet you will see everything clearly. When your watching the cameras on your phone there is a 5 second delay but still really good for being wireless and you can set targeted areas and you will get notified when someone steps in those areas.
