The major limitation which caused me to return the purchase was it does not work behind a glass window. The use of magnets to attach the camera concerned me since it is very easy for someone to remove it from the base. The solution was for me to have the camera behind a window. The other issue I has was the motion detection lag. The time it takes the camera to turn on after detecting movement is slow. I read it needs to be hard wired to get better motion detection.

I’ve had these cameras installed for less than a month. I’ve had to charge the batteries twice, and two days ago my cameras stopped connecting to the app and are not functioning. I like the idea of the system being completely wireless, however this was not the unit to go with. Hopefully I can still return them.

Significant Improvements - Worthy of A New Release

Arlo's new Pro 3 cameras offer some significant improvements over their already excellent Pro 2 series. The new cameras provide a brighter and clearer image (2560x1440 pixels vs. 1920×1080 pixels), improved night vision (better persistence of color in low-light up to a point with an integrated spotlight to help illuminate the capture area), and a slightly wider field of view (160° vs. 130°). As with their previous series, the two-way audio is very clear. Setup is simple and the Arlo app is simple and useful. And it was fairly straightforward to use/control my older cameras through the new base station. One interesting difference was with mounting hardware - my Pro 2 system came with two well-designed magnetic mounts - the Pro 3 system comes with a single magnetic mount and with a ball-jointed (more like a tripod) mount that is much better suited for mounting one of the cameras outside (the cameras are reliably weather-resistant). A second difference that I am less thrilled with is the new charging "contraption" - a USB charger with a proprietary magnetic snap-on connection (the Pro 2 series cameras charge with a strong Micro USB charger!). Proprietary chargers always carry the threat of being a single point of future failure. But once charged, these cameras can operate for months before needing a recharge. Arlo wants you to subscribe to their smart features (the system comes with a free three month subscription) - every company wants to hook you with a subscription service to unlock advanced features these days. The primary feature of their subscription is selectable object discrimination (person detection, vehicle detection, animal detection, detection of audio alarm). I can see how some of these might be more desirable for a business, but with judicious mounting, the existing motion detection capabilities of the cameras themselves are working great for me. I have found Arlo to be a very reliable and desirable security camera company. Their products are well designed and their app is somewhat no-frills but solid. If you have never had a security camera before, I think you might be surprised by the quality of coverage you can get with these.

The cameras are very good just watch out though because you need to sign up for a subscription service to get the full features out of them.

After researching cameras for a long time I decided on the Arlo Pro 3. It was easy to install and set up. It took a little time to play around with all the features and get it just right but it’s the best money I’ve spent for my family’s safety.

Bought it for my parents. Works as intended. Took a star off because why doesn’t Arlo offer free 7 day cloud storage at 1080p anymore as an option?

Bought this because my neighbors house got broken into and I am loving it. I can see anything around my house. It just sucks that the quality goes down the farther things are. After about 30 foot everything starts to look blurry.

States 300 feet wireless, we have it about 180 feet. Nothing much in way. It is barely on wireless capability. Don’t believe the 3-6 month battery life, I had it on low power mode, maybe 15 recordings a day, and in one week it lost 25% of its battery. I also noticed I can walk/drive by (within 6’ in daylight) without it notifying me or recording me - stay tuned I am contacting tech support

These are pretty much among the highest end cameras I would consider buying. Getting this bundle for $550 was a steal. They are extremely wide angle and great software. Read other reviews and you will see! Phenomenal user experience with these.

We have the arlo 2 on our rental home. I accidentally purchased the 3s and I’m so happy we did. The camera vision is so much better. The lights are awesome and it’s simple to use and set up. We will always purchase arlo camera systems.

I went into this store and spoke to a specialist I told him that my house is 4000 ft² they said that I neeed to get a Wi-Fi extendere which they referred me to the erro Which I find out through another representative this is not compatible with the Arlo camera. the representative steered me to purchasing the wrong extendere for my house which I have to return needless to say I had to return the Arlo cameras because it wasn't compatible.
