I really like this camera security system. Very good motion sensor, great video quality, good night vision, reliable batteries and the process of installation goes easy and fast. I’m thinking about getting more additional cameras and a wireless doorbell as well. I would recommend Arlo to my friends.

I decided to pull the trigger and upgrade my existing wired security cameras made by another company, to the Arlo 3 wireless security cameras. I've always been a little nervous about the wireless cameras, not least of which, because you have to charge them. However, considering the battery life can last up to 6 months, I decided I could deal with charging 2-3 times a year in exchange for better overall cameras and the ease of setting up and using wireless. I was not disappointed by my choice. I have holes in my walls and cords in my house and garage because of my wired cameras. I've gotten rid of all of that now. I was able to easily mount the stands and then the cameras are magnetically connected. I will say, that's one thing that I don't like as well as a wired security camera, the security of the camera itself. I feel like the cameras themselves could be a lot easier to steal, so you want to take that into account when placing them. The picture clarity is the best I've seen on security cameras. My two favorite features are the color night vision and the spotlight. Both are features that I didn't have on my previous cameras. The color night vision is so sharp and provides an excellent view of your surroundings. It gave my an extra level of security, being able to see better outside at night with my cameras than I could by even just looking out the window. The spotlight can be turned on manually or set to turn on automatically with motion. As of now, I haven't experienced any issues with connectivity (WiFi, picture, etc.) Everything connected easily and has run smoothly since I started using it. This was a huge upgrade for me and one that I highly recommend for anyone looking for home security (especially if you want easy set-up).

I installed these cameras and the new SmartHub as a replacement for my current set of 4 Pro 2 cameras and the previous-gen Arlo Base Station. First thing I noticed: despite the *exact* same position of both the hub and cameras, and signal strength showing the same as before, the cameras are much more flakey and take significantly longer to connect to. Sometimes upward of 20 seconds. Seems the new higher quality makes it a near-requirement to have full signal strength to the camera. Additionally, these new cameras require a new form factor of batteries (forget using your Pro 2s or any charging station you bought for them!) as well as new magnetic mounts (hope you didn't install your old ones in a difficult spot!). This is force obsolescence at its finest. I'm left shopping for additional batteries and a new charging station instead of using my existing investment in the Arlo brand. Second, my entire home wifi became unstable to the point of being unusable. Upon further investigation, the new SmartHub blasts a Wifi access point - that you can't hide, disable, or configure - and was overriding the same 2.4GHz channel in use by my home Wifi. So, don't be surprised if you see ARLO_VMB_XXXXXX in your wifi list after this installation. Scouring the Arlo Support boards, they seem to have taken the stance of "hey, hiding an SSID doesn't really provide any protection to you, so deal with it" which is sub-par to say the least - if numerous customers are requesting this, just do it. Also, in case it matters to you and your installation, my new SmartHub was blasting out on 2.4GHz ch8 so if you know how, make sure your wireless router isn't using the same for its 2.4GHz band or you'll run in to the same issues I did. As far as the devices themselves the quality is good when I can get it to connect, the spotlight and siren are both impressive when enabled. The light is definitely enough and the siren is quite loud. The wider angle on the cameras is significantly better than the Pro 2, as is the video quality - if you can get it to work. I've not yet had a chance to see the smart package, person, vehicle, or animal detection at work but as long as the activity zones actually work (they never did on my Pro 2 set), I'll be much happier. However activity zones are still only defined as a square; multi-point polygons would make configuration much easier and make a whole lot more sense IMO. I was disappointed to learn that the Cloud Video Recording capability of the cameras is only possible if install them directly connected to a power source. Yet this kit only comes with one AC adapter :/ My expectation here was that CVR would work to record any triggers of the cameras to the cloud, but in fact it's continuous recording to the cloud, so the need for external power makes more sense, but it's still rather peculiar this is the requirement and they only sent one AC adapter! It's also quite stunning that CVR is billed *per camera* which, I imagine for some installations, could get quite expensive. I saw no option for "N cameras for $x.xx/mo" Also worth noting on this kit, it only comes with one magnetic mount. The other is the "arm"-type mount with 3 screws going through the base. As the magnetic mounts for the Pro 2s aren't compatible, I'm now left with this ugly arm one sticking out the side of my house :/ Bottom line, if you're looking to upgrade an old system, take the opportunity to research the landscape again; you're going to be changing everything anyway. And even if you're not, check on your Wifi settings and don't be alarmed or annoyed when this new ARLO_VMB_XXXXXX SSID pops up in your lists everywhere. As an upgrade I'd give this 3 Stars. For new installations, 4.

I just replaced my old Gen 1 Arlo 5 cam system with the new Arlo 3 Pro 5 cam system and couldn’t be happier with my purchase! Easy to install, configure and great picture detail- a great improvement from the older cams! The night vision in the 3 Pro’s puts the older Gen 1 cams to shame! Very satisfied and I highly recommend!

I'm an owner of the older version, Arlo Pro 2 and I loved it! This is a very welcomed addition. No wires except the camera is extra better now. Colorized night vision a welcomed addition as well. The quality was great from before (1080) but the 2K quality now is even better. I have complaints about Arlo since it has been working great for me after all these months.

First, I want to state that I was replacing an Arlo 2 Pro system...or I thought I was. But before I get into those details I want to say that I really do like the Arlo ecosystem. The products are pretty reliable and the video quality is always quite nice. I wish it's wireless antennas were a little more powerful so it worked better at range. There...I've got that out of the way. So why the poor rating? Proprietary power connectors!!! What were you thinking?!?! I get it the cameras have batteries and can be used wirelessly. However, in my experience with the devices they simply won't last much beyond a few days in a busy environment. (full disclosure, I am using this in my retail business) And then you're stuck climbing up a ladder and pulling the camera down to plug it in somewhere, which then takes time to complete...and then back up the ladder to put it back in it's place. OR, like me you have a power outlet run to the location (approx 10ft above ground to keep people from touching it). But here's the kick in the pants...The Arlo 2 was powered by a simple usb connector. So it was easy to repurpose an old cell battery charger or the like to get the job done. The Arlo 3 uses a proprietary connector and charger. And the box kit only comes with ONE charger!!!! Why on earth they choose to do this I will never know. Here's two camera....oh but we're cheap so here's only 1 charger. Good luck!! Secondly, the Arlo 2 came with two magnetic mounts for the wall, which were fantastic!!. The Arlo 3 only comes with 1, and some sort of bracket mount that is useful maybe in exterior setups?! Again, I am a fan of the Arlo experience in general, but moving to some sort of proprietary power connector and not supplying enough in the box to get the job done is bush league. Now I have to purchase and wait for another power connector in order to use the second camera. /sadface One last miserable gripe....they are still using Flash for their video streams. Flash is a major security risk and won't even be supported by Chrome beyond 12/2020. I sure hope they replace flash in their software soon.

Upgraded to the Arlo Smart Hub and it works great with the legacy base station so i can have the Arlo Video Doorbell ALWAYS ARMED and the cameras on the base station set for Geofencing and have it all working together perfectly

I thought I'd have to compromise , somewhere, when it came to finding the best fit for our security camera needs. The ease of setup, the quality of the video feeds, the great features, and the pricing of both the system and the service - I just have no complaints. We really got what we wanted and were up and running in literally minutes. That's in regard to the system itself. As for finally having security feeds set up, in general, it has been a game-changer for a multitude of reasons, from seeing who's outside to whether the stray cats we take care of are good to go. In the last week, alone, my wife got the message from UPS that her necklace had arrived, yet we never received it. We were able to ascertain from the camera alerts that no one came to our house from UPS, at all. Just makes everything way more convenient and less stressful when you don't have to guess. Now, we're going to add a few more cameras.

I started out with Arlo 2 and had no issues with connecting. I had one camera about 100’-150’ from my house. Quality was great. I only had two cameras and one broke due to dropping it on a rock, so I figured it was time to upgrade! Wrong. Don’t get me wrong, the Arlo 3 pro cameras Alsace great quality and great features (if you buy the monthly subscription). This is great, once the camera connects. I’ve had these cameras less than a week and have more headaches than the two years I’ve had the Arlo 2. These cameras constantly go offline, take up to minutes to load the live feed, and have upwards up 30 seconds, if not more, of a delay to what’s actually happening, essentially making the two way talk feature useless. The cameras are closer to the house than the Arlo 2 cameras were. I even bought a WiFi extender and plugged the hub into that, hoping to boost the signal to the camera. It shows 2 out of 3 bars for signal (compared to the one bar without the extended), so I figured it would be better. Wrong again. These cameras continue to go offline and continue to take way too long to connect. And for those thinking my internet sucks, it does not. I pay for the best internet and like I previously said, I did not have these issues with the Arlo 2. One of my cameras dropped to 25% (after being fully charged) in 3 days. At $80 a piece for the solar chargers, I do not think I will be buying 4 of them. I will most likely be returning these prior to the 2 week mark because these, as it stands, are not worth the $850 price tag (or the $650 sale price I got them for).

Purchased the 4 Pack of Arlo Pro 3 cameras to add more camera coverage to the exterior of our home. Currently have 2 Arlo Q cameras. This Pro 3 system was so easy to set up and install. About an hour to unbox, sync, and install then another hour setting up the settings and smart alerts for the cameras and then we were up and running. The camera video quality is outstanding and I really like the new features (siren, 2-way audio, spotlight). Also the new, wider viewing angle is great for getting more visibility abound the home. We were able to eliminate any blind spots around the exterior of the house. Arlo Smart is a must have. Glad 3 months was included and we will definitely be subscribing after the trial ends. It gives us the push alerts we care about; animals, people, or packages. No longer do our phones go off with motion alerts from cars driving by or trees moving in the wind. Overall, we are very happy with the quality of the cameras, the app, and the Arlo Smart notifications.

Its very easy to set up and connect . The notifications are great detects the difference between and animal and a human. Love the siren feature and the feature to talk through the cameras . Visibility is pretty good and the lights help for the night view .

The Arlo-Pro 3 security system is great. Just like previous Arlo security camera offerings, the setup couldn't be easier. No wire or other messy installation hassles. The 2k quality on the Arlo-Pro 3's is a welcome addition. For anyone who is spending the money on a security camera system, quality is a must!

I don't generally write reviews, but this product deserves it. Purchased the six pack Pro 3. I opened the box and was totally installed and running in less than an hour. So very easy and the quality is exceptional. Installed the app for interacting with and monitoring the system. Very intuitive, no instructions necessary. Arlo offers support with videos but I never had to engage in it. I already have plans to install the same equipment at my office and the app will allow you to see and interact with both locations simultaneously. There is about a 3-4 second lag from the time an alert is activated until I receive a notification. Considering internet and technological delays I am very pleased with this response. Keep in mind, there is no lag in the recording of such event. Great high quality product.

I am very satisfied with both the quality of the video and the quality of the audio. I have had other security cameras but these do not compare. I also love the range of view and how it’s wireless. Very great product!

Great system. i purchased in Nov 2019 and still working great. Looking to purchase a couple of more camaras. Easy set up and easy app use.

Set up was incredibly easy. Picture quality is great. Very easy to use. The ability to move the camera where you need it is also really helpful. So far, battery life seems really strong as well.

Best DIY security system for peace of mind. We recently moved into a new place and we love it, except for the sketchy neighbors and their frequent guests. So we looked around and decided on the Arlo system. The 2k quality is amazing we have a couple of cameras outside and one inside and you can zoom in with ease. Also came with a free 3 month subscription that notifies us whenever the camera picks up on either people, pets, or cars. Highly recommend for that extra peace of mind when you’re not at home. The cameras also record clips and save them to the cloud or local system with additional storage. Also has an alarm setting and you can talk and hear people through them.

Works as intended, great that video recordings can be stored locally.
