Easy to install and excellent video quality. The Arlo app is great for installation and monitoring your system.

We had before the Arlo Pro 2 and we changed to this Arlo Pro 3 to get an upgrade and trying to get better quality in picture and sound. We noticed that the sound is much better with this camera. The picture is good but not as we expected with this upgrade. We still recommend it because is an excellent help monitoring the activities in our home when we need it.

The resolution on these are great. The video is also very clear and motion isn’t choppy like other brands I’ve tested. Very worth it.

The product is everything you expected and more. Easy of installations, setup, easy to operate and use. Video quality is awesome. I will cautioned anyone who is considering buying this product, like any products in the market, do your homework. Understand fully what you are buying especially the specs and guide lines. The product is base on perfect scenarios but reality is that real life situations are never perfect. There will be learning curves it is with ANY technology base devices.

The local storage is why I have these cameras. They work well and have a good app.

They work Great. The subscription is very low for what they offer. The only issue is they will only stay charged for a few days.

I have owned an Arlo 2 system for about 2 years now and had a chance to test the newest version. While it’s still the same great Arlo system, there are a LOT of improvements over the older system (and still a limitation or two). If you’re familiar with the older system, the first thing you’ll notice about this system is it is much smaller and lighter. This is especially true of the home base. This is nice as it makes it very easy to find space to store it. The cameras are also smaller, lighter, and seem to hold a longer charge than the older version. There are 2 indoor/outdoor cameras and a home base included in this set. It’s a simple set-up. Hook the home base directly to your router, plug it in, put the cameras where you want them (they are 60-70-% charged straight out of the box) and download the app. If you don’t have an arlo account, you will need to set one up. The app is small and fairly user-friendly. I already had an account, so I didn’t need to set up a new one. I did need to remove the old devices and add the new devices. The app walks you through step-by-step on how to do this, and it is very easy. I have the cameras sitting on shelves, where they blend right in with the other items on the shelf. I’m thinking about mounting one of them but haven’t gotten around to it yet. They’re easy to charge, but the charger is proprietary, so making sure you remember where you store it is a priority, as replacing the charger (just like any proprietary device) is not cheap. Charging doesn’t take long (4-5 hours seemed to do it) and the charge lasts a very long time. I’ve had my system running for 10 days now and the batteries are barely halfway gone. There is an indicator in the app that will tell you how much charge is left on each camera. One drawback of this system is the cameras will have to be taken down to be charged, which can be inconvenient depending on how you’ve decided to mount them. You could opt for Arlo’s $50 25-ft charging cable, but you’re probably not thrilled at how much this system costs already. The set-up and options that are included on the app are almost over-whelming. There is package detection (designed especially for people that have things ‘disappear’ off their front porch); settings designed for animal or people detection (which are very accurate); you can ‘geo-fence’ your camera to activate based on where you are located (I.e. when you are a certain distance from your home), or set ‘zones’ inside the cameras very wide recording area that you want it to concentrate on; and, perhaps most useful, you can set-up armed and disarmed periods. If you don’t set these up you’ll get a notification every time movement is detected on your camera (the camera starts recording at just about the split-second motion is detected) and that can be a lot if someone is home. You will have hundreds of notifications in no time at all. It took a little while to get it set right where I wanted it, but it was worth it as my notifications are far less now than they were on the default setting. The picture is clearer and more detailed than the older versions. The image and playback is razor sharp 2k picture quality that can be zoomed for detailed screen caps (if necessary) and keeps sharp detail. Currently the clips are stored in a “library” on Arlo’s servers, and are displayed in the app from most recent to oldest. You can mark them as favorites, download them, delete them, share them or even ‘donate’ them to Arlo to use how they wish. At night the colors pop and the picture is still surprisingly clear, though it can wash out a bit if there is a bright light seen in the image—sort of a ‘night-vision’ effect. Another cool feature is the ‘spotlight’ on each camera can be turned on or off with your app and can be set to come on automatically if the camera is in night mode. There is also an ‘audible’ alarm that can be set to activate under certain conditions, and it is VERY loud. The biggest drawbacks to the Arlo system, of course, all revolves around expense. It’s one of the most expensive systems out there to purchase initially—though for the craftsmanship and reliability I believe it is 100% worth it. The extra costs such as more cameras, longer cables, etc, can add up fast if you have a large home or want a large area monitored. The other major cost is the ‘storage’ fee for the clips. There are a wide range of options but the free plan that comes with the older Arlo versions no longer exists. That 7-day free cloud storage for free was a great benefit, and it really stings that it’s not offered anymore. I suppose with high quality clips it gets more expensive to store, but it seems like some free-option could be offered, even if it's only 24 hours. You don’t have to subscribe to a plan, but you’ll have to record things as they happen live (you’ll still get the same notifications based on your settings, and can watch the cameras live) to a local storage device (USB drive or SD card) attached to the home base—inconvenient at best, at worst you may not be in a situation where you can check an alert and can’t record something you need to record. You also can't play back any clips you record locally through the app, though supposedly Arlo will have a fix coming out soon. The basic plans start at $2.99 per month per camera, and the ‘Smart” plan is $9.99 a month and supports up to 5 cameras. Both plans include a ‘rolling’ 30-day 2k online recording for clip storage. If you want continuous recording, you have to subscribe per camera for $14.99 per two weeks (though the need for this plan would be very specialized I would think). Currently Arlo includes 3-months free of the ‘smart’ monitor package so you’ll have ample opportunity to test-drive it and see if it suits your needs or not. Another thing some might see as a drawback is that there are NO professional monitoring services available at all with this system. If the cost isn’t an issue for you this is easily one of the best home security devices available and I highly recommend it.

Love the fact you can zoom and keep an eye on things in the house easy to set up and use

As a law enforcement officer, it is discouraging when footage collected from a victim's security system is of poor quality (useless) or the footage is difficult to obtain from the security program. Arlo is so simple, has great footage and great audio. This is perfect for the average home, I wish more homes were equip with these devices.

Arlo’s Pro 3 security camera has great video quality, doesn’t take much to setup, and the batteries last for quite some time it seems. It’s been almost a month since I mounted one w/o a solar charger, and the battery still has over 70% remaining. Their mobile app is intuitive and well thought out, not buggy like other cheap equivalents. If you’re using Apple devices, although not HomeKit certified, you can use the Arlo Smart Bridge with HomeKit too. Camera feeds and push notifications work.

Bought this system to get eyes on entry points since working from home is a thing now. The system is worth more than the price! Great video is always clear even when you zoom in. Payed the 10 bucks a month to store video for 30 days in case we need to look back at any. Has a siren you can set off if you see something you don’t like. Very easy to detach and charge when the time comes. Would recommend to anyone and 2 coworkers have already bought based on what I showed them on my phone!
