This is an excellent option if anyone wants to improve home security. It operates on WiFi with good internet connection. Camera will not stop recording animal even though set not to. I will be glad to have the system when I have had and used it just a short time.

Easy to set up, simple to use app and clear directions. I use Apple HomeKit, the set up was a breeze, no I simply ask Siri to show me the driveway, and “tada!” I have a total of 5 cameras including 1 floodlight and I couldn’t be happier with how easy it all was.

This system is excellent. Well priced and great quality. Been in situ for 2 months and battery life still very good. Busiest camera still 89% battery level. Very clear 2K visuals and zoom function works well. Would highly recommend, particularly at Best Buy prices.

I like the system. However it takes a few minutes for the system to notify you when someone or something passes in front of the camera. Need to be sure you have a strong internet signal.

    Confused Customer

After our phones "blew up" with notifications and not understanding the process we returned the cameras. We were not told we had a free trial basis and would then have to purchase the service to operate the cameras and receive data. Totally confused and the product may be great but not for us. Maybe we didn't ask the correct and enough questions. Best Buy customer service was AWESOME and really were Customer Friendly and provided an excellent service!!! Will still to continue making purchases from Best Buy!

The Arlo cameras arrived promptly and function as advertised. I've found that Best Buy prices essentially match Amazon. I feel my purchase supports employees who live in my area. I'm not aware that BB supports the "woke/cancel culture" as does Amazon Inc.

For the highly rated security system, I would not recommend it. This is one of most expensive systems and it gets more expensive because the app is useless unless you have their subscription which is $120 a year for this 4 camera system. It writes to a external drive but you can’t see those videos when you are away from home. If you can read write delete from the cloud, it should be the same from an external drive. Otherwise provide a free number of days of video. Very disappointing.

      Hello Linda,

Thank you for taking the time to share your Arlo Pro 3 experience. We recommend enabling Direct Storage Access. Instead of removing the microSD card or USB storage device and plugging it into your computer to view recordings, Direct Storage Access enables a fast way to directly view recordings through the Arlo App at the full resolution of your Pro 3 cameras. For more information: https://kb.arlo.com/000062337. If you are requiring additional assistance with Direct Storage Access, please reach out to our Support team by visiting: https://www.arlo.com/en-us/support/contact.aspx.

A Great Choice For Smart Home Security

A great security camera system. Easy to set up and get running. You will need a smart mobile phone. A little challenging until you know how to add someone to the system. Also they should have supplied a longer cable for the magnetic charger, at least 2-3 metres long.

Good camera for home security. Great day and night HD video. Good range from wifi router. Bought the solar panel to connect full time power so will not have to climb ladder to change/re-charge battery. Very happy with product and will be adding more cameras in the future.

I have the cameras tied to a hard drive instead of the Arlo cloud and Arlo makes this setup very very hard to use. First it limits the size of hard drive you are allowed to use and any data saved to the hard drive is just crazy hard to view. Not for the weak of heart. All this changes if you use Arlo's monthly subscription service. What you can do with the cameras is expanded and easier to use, and the cloud videos are easy to view and to find what you would like to look at. But its a monthly charge.

We’ve been using & enjoying the Arlo 2 system for almost 2 years. The Arlo 2 cameras have been durable & reliable, so we were excited to try the new Arlo 3 iteration. It did not disappoint. Arlo made some great improvements to quality & features. Setup: Very simple & straightforward. Just plug the Base Station into the power & Ethernet to your router. Log in or create an Arlo account and you’re guided perfectly through each step. This process was flawless. Connectivity with the Hub and cameras was very fast. Mounting: Super easy. System comes with 2 Mounts. Both options are fully adjustable and only require a Phillips-head screwdriver (and possibly a small hammer if you use the included screw anchors). Video: The 2K video quality is excellent and the field of view is very wide (160 degrees and can be adjusted down if needed). The microphone picks up sound very clearly. At close range, like a front door/porch mount, you can hear someone speak loud & clear. I can even pick up chatter from across the street. Night Vision: The color night vision is fantastic! However, color video is only possible if the spotlight is engaged. If the spotlight is off, the video is black & white. Spotlight: The powerful spotlight is a great improvement. You can adjust the brightness as well as the behavior (Constant, Flash or Pulsate). The spotlight will engage every time it senses activity and stay illuminated while recording. I don’t necessarily want to broadcast to every passerby that I have a camera on the front porch, so I disengaged the feature on that camera. When ‘Live Viewing’, you can engage the spotlight at any time. Magnetic Charging: Great improvement! No port covers to unseal. No tiny connector to plug into. The charging cable easily snaps magnetically into place. The App: - The App allows for very detailed customization of each camera. - Notifications: Activity notifications are sent very quickly after sensing motion, usually within a few seconds. There are still times when there is a delay in trying to view a video clip right after receiving an alert. I’ll get the “connecting…” or “buffering…” for several seconds before being able to view video. I’ll usually get the same delay when attempting to ‘Live View’ as well. Sometimes, I just have to shut down the App & re-start. - No option to save credentials/stay logged in. When you run out of “tokens”, you’re automatically logged out. This seems to happen at the most critical time. For example, you’re having a nice dinner with friends away from home when you receive a notification & get a brief glimpse that a stranger is on your porch. Sorry, you’re out of “tokens”, and it jumps to the login screen. You’ve been logged out at the very moment that you can least afford to go dark. If you don’t have your username & password handy, then it’s panic time! Overall: This is an excellent DIY security camera system with the ability to add more cameras as needed. Video quality is great. The cameras are durable. The system is portable (no hard-wiring; perfect for renters). It’s affordable and requires no monthly monitoring fees. The App still needs work, so I have to give it 4 stars instead of 5.

I bought the Pro 3 after using the original Pro for the past few years; Picture clarity noticeably improved and the wider viewing angle makes a significant difference. Trialing the Smart sensing capability, so far quite impressed. Good product which I'd highly recommend.

Came w 2 cameras, magnetic mount is nice but mounting screws were better. You kind of have to buy a second hub if you want to set cameras far apart. Cameras need to be near the hub to work its best

OK, I love the cameras. I actually have 5 all are the Arlo Pro 3 with one being the spot light. They work great and the picture quality is awesome. I purchased these because of the quality and the ability to view the recordings from my phone. And this is where everything falls apart. I would give them 5 starts all day long but after 3 months you have to pay for cloud storage of your monitoring. If you don't you can still watch live but unit requires USB storage which is not available via WiFi. You have to access your storage device to view the footage. What bull.... The Arlo 2 have free 7 day storage but now the 3 doesn't. Until they make the Arlo Pro 3 storage free for 7 days like the Arlo 2, this product is not worth purchasing. Find a device that doesn't require a monthly fee to view your stored videos. Sorry Arlo, lost a customer and I would not recommend.
