System is trash and Arlo CS is horrible. The software for the active zones hasn't worked correctly since date of purchase. I get notification after notification in regards to motion no where near the active zones. If I could have taken them back I would have. Customer Service best answer is "engineers are looking into the issue, we will get back to you". Check ARLO's customer forums and you will see what i mean.

Do not buy this. I had old arlo wireless that used 4 inserted batteries that I had to replace every 5-6 months. this has chargeable batteries that last less than two weeks and then I have to get on ladder, run the charger cord etc etc. i could not go on vacation and trust that battery would not die. totally useless

This product is not worth your money. Cameras are not water proof as advertised. They stop working all the time and the app is always glitching. Camera feed has big delay which defeats the purpose of having a security system. Arlo’s customer service is incompetent and not helpful.

I have had the system for about 8 months now and have had multiple problems with connections and system being offline. Most recently the cameras are offline due to temps. Clarity for 4K and delays are sub par vs other systems, I have fiber internet connection and it is solid. Would not recommend this product.

i've had nothing but troubles with this arlo pro system since i bought it. super laggy, random freqent disconnects, alerts for nothing, microphone doesn't work most of the time. motion sensitivity is useless. don't make the same mistake i made. check out the arlo forums - this is a very common suite of complaints.

The title says it all. Sporadic notion detection no matter how cameras are positioned. I'm starting to wonder if Arlo paid for some of its reviews, because my experience has been awful. A 3-5 second streaming delay, poor battery life, and a finicky app add to the frustration. Bottom line, don't waste your money.

This Arlo Pro 3 wire-free security camera kit only requires minutes to install, requires minimal to no technical knowledge to get up an running, is feature packed, and will meet most of your needs. That being said, the kit is not perfect and unfortunately suffers from the same inherent fault that all other incident based (motion activated) cameras...they miss incidences, which could prove critical to the reason you have purchased these cameras in the first place. I have installed a lot of security cameras of a variety of brands and this Arlo kit is by far the easiest setup you will ever come across. Charge the cameras, secure the mounts using 1 screw each, and place the cameras. Supply your base station with power and internet, and follow the directions in the app and let Arlo take care of the rest. The app will tell you how your connection is to your cameras and if you need to move them closer. And once set up, the system is set it and forget it...until the batteries need recharged. The 2K picture quality is pretty good and allows you to see what is going on when you need to. The push notifications are especially good, as they highlight the person/animal/vehicle it observed in the snapshot it takes, which allows you to investigate or disregard the notification at a glance. The night vision is also pretty clear whether light is present or not, but if there is no ambient light, the camera will provide its own with a very bright LED spotlight. The motion recognition (person, animal, vehicle, etc) is decent, but not as good as other "smart" cameras. It is pretty good with recognizing people, but it seems to think that vehicles are animals. I would hate to see animals that large roaming my street! Another cool feature is that in the clips the camera will focus and zoom on the motion. This leaves no doubt what the camera is seeing. Also, the alarm that you can sound when you see motion on the camera is also very loud! Much louder than any camera alarm I have heard. Even with all the great features these cameras have, they have the same inherent flaw that I have seen time and time again with incident based cameras. They pick and chose what they record, and this leads to a lot of missed incidents. Numerous times I have gone outside to my vehicle and either grabbed something out of the vehicle or got in to leave and the Arlo cameras did not create a clip. I have also had neighbor kids grab things out of the back of a truck in the driveway which was caught by a different redundant camera system, but not by the Arlo. The camera picture quality could be the best I have ever seen with features that are state of the art amazing, but if the camera doesn't record the incident that you bought them for, what is the point of having them? I hope this can be corrected in programming, but until then, it still is a big issue for me, thus the 3 star rating. With this issue fixed (which is possible if you sign up for 24/7 coverage, but an additional cost), the cameras would have received 4/5. In conclusion, these cameras are amazing simple and are a set and forget, but there is a trade off in coverage vs ease of setup.

I have the Arlo Pro 2 cameras and was buying these to upgrade. Unfortunately these cameras did not measure up. Compared to the Arlo Pro 2 the Arlo Pro 3 pictures is much less clear and much more blurry. I have an excellent wifi signal and the connection was not the issue. Super disappointed in this system. Returned the unit for my $$ back.

The Arlo Pro3 cameras are quite a jump up from the original Arlo cameras. I have both now. These cameras add sound and better video technology including improved resolution. A giant step up is that these use a rechargeable battery as well. The setup using the new app is flawless. The cameras sync’d instantly with the base unit. One installation improvement could be for Arlo to include two mounts that screw into your outside mounting points. They only include one of these and one interior type ‘portable’ mount. This system had two cameras so why not two of each type of mount. This system is not cheap so go ahead and do this Arlo people. The recognition technology seems to be working fine i.e. object recognition – but I would need to view this over about 3 months to really see if it works. The camera app set up features are very nice to easily get your correct motion sensitivity level and camera orientation all honed in. These cameras also have a microphone so you can talk back and forth or mute your voice and hear what’s going on – this is a very nice capability the old Arlo cameras did not have. You can also integrate this system with Google Home for example. About the only real negative is the delay from the point the cameras pick up motion to the point where you see the live image on your phone. It seems you can say ‘go live’ and it will say ‘connecting’ for several seconds before you actually see the image. I realize the wireless latency is part of this, but wonder if Arlo can come up with some technology that keeps the camera ready without battery drain but allows the communication link to the base unit to be faster. The range-distance for the base to pickup the cameras is indeed great. The other feature like the library of videos, and scheduling active camera motion sensing timeframes are still there and are very well done. The weather proofing of the camera is great and the battery removal and replacement has been improved and is much easier than the old Arlo cameras in two ways. There is a button to push to release the battery pack and when re-installed the battery pack makes an audible and solid click to let you know it is closed up. I found that this system is overall super-duper and I do recommend these Arlo systems for solid build quality, excellent features and ease of install.
