    ARLO Pro 4 is PERFECTION!!

We just updated from the older Arlo system because my father received a 50% off deal if he purchased new equipment due to all the issues he was having with the older system, so he purchased the newer system for my husband and I, as well. I haven't had my Arlo cameras up in a long time because they continuously messed up, but so far this new system is GREAT!! I love the night vision and the microphone (where we can hear the person at the door), as well as the live feeds. Such a better system and we may decide to purchase two more cameras....especially if we get this $200 Amazon card.

Best wireless cameras iv used. Iv gone through many brands and arlo never disappoints. Javing updated to the battery pack ones was a must. After years of use the charges don’t seem to hold on the older models which dont jabe bayteru packs can switch out.

    Good Cameras, Lousy Notification Service

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Bought this set to upgrade from an older Arlo set. Overall the cameras and spotlights work fine but my problem has always been with the app. I get notifications sporadically, which defeats the purpose of the cameras. The cameras catch the action but unless I go to the app and look at my library, I never really know if there are any videos there. Very frustrating.

Not what I was hoping for...

I purchased the Pro 4 because of several reviews, but I have found it falls well short of what I sought. The picture up close is fine, at least during the day. At night, the picture is quite grainy. What is frustrating is the video being recorded is delayed. Specifically, the recording does not start recording for 5+ seconds. For example, I have a camera in my garage. I can open the door to enter the garage, walk up to the camera and then turn back to the door and go inside. The recording only captures me walking back inside. That delayed recording doesn't help, especially for the camera we installed outside when trying to capture a person who walks into the zone. By the time we are able to see the recording, only the person walking out of the zone (or nearly out of the zone) is captured, not providing sufficient detail. I offered to pay the monthly fee for the 24x7 recording so I could actually see what the recording being sent to me was missing. However, to get 24x7 backup requires a base station (or smart hub), which is why I did not go with the Ultra. This is an additional purchase. This set comes with anti-theft mounts. These are fine, in theory, but it does not allow you to adjust the camera to a 90 degree angle. For the outside camera, I wanted to put on top of a fence/post but could not because the only angle I'd get is the sky. There is no way to adjust or remove the anti-theft mounts so I had to get "regular" casings for the cameras and then purchase an attachment: both add another ~ $35 each. At least once a week each camera stops recording. It would be somewhat helpful if this happened at the same time for the cameras (perhaps I could point to the connection, but then again, it always says I have "great" internet connection), but that's not the case. Each time I have to re-set the cameras and any/all recordings until the re-set are not captured. I have contacted Customer Service several times. They are polite, but not the most helpful. I have told them that if I could, I would return these cameras but the 30-day period has since passed from my purchase. I let them know that I'm so displeased that I have not even unwrapped the third camera from the set because the first two don't work that well. I have other cameras around my house that are connected to the house alarm. They are 1080p. I wanted cameras not connected to my alarm so I chose Arlo. My 1080p cameras work much better --- day and night --- both up close and afar. I really am disappointed with this product and wish I could return it. To get it working the way I would want, excluding the actual images and delayed recording, will cost an additional ~ $250. Setting up was fairly simple, and if using for limited purposes, perhaps this would be a better fit for you. But I have found this to be frustrating and unreliable. I would not advise someone to purchase.

This camera replaced an older camera that I had. It was very easy to set up and I love the spotlight. It illuminates a large area over the driveway.

More than functional with a few drawbacks

So much easier than wired cameras and just as functional. Unfortunately without purchasing the base station, Internet access is required, WiFi or LTE. But then you’ll lose range on camera placement. With that said, I still use the cameras and so recommend them.

    Flexibility is Key

I've owned around 10 arlo cameras over time and they still continue to make a great product. The Pro 4 works great at picking up animals, people, packages, etc. My main draw to Arlo is the flexibility of putting them literally anywhere and having the option to plug in or use the battery.

Awesome Cameras and Peace of Mind

We are remodeling a house in another state and have had some issues recently. We installed the cameras (set of 3) and now can see everyone who comes in the driveway, enters the garage or house and also check to be sure the garage door is closed. We have already seen a couple of incidents where people came in and took things from the dumpster, but with the cameras up no one unauthorized has attempted to enter the house. I love getting alerts for movement, animals, cars and people. Very helpful when you can't be there in person.

Arlo pro 4 , everything seems to work well . Motion alerts are spot on . Only complaint is that sometimes the cameras will "go offline" but you still receive the video captures of motion even if it says offline . It also takes a long time to load up live view , and sometimes it doesn't .

    Needs Better Instructions

We bought the kit with 3 Pro 4 cameras and a smart hub. Once setup complete, the cameras and smart hub work great. I downloaded the app and the instructions. The camera instructions work great if you are not using a smart hub. Using the app, snyc the hub first then each camera.

    Pretty Great Overall Camera

Considering the price point of this camera, this is a pretty great deal. I would definitely recommend this to anyone needing cameras at their location. We also bought the pack of 3 cameras and 4 batteries. I would highly recommend going that route as well!

My Arlo Pro 4 exceeded my expectations within the first day that I set it up , the simplicity of setting it up , all the neat security features that it offers the clarity of the videos and if the volume is turned up you can hear with amazing clarity you have lots of options such as setting the camera to detect a person, vehicle or animal , I got a kick out of checking my camera library one morning when I noticed my alert icon and there was a cat walking down my side walk .lol

    Easy'ish to setup

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The camera was easy to install. The only issue I ran in to is that it took several resets for 2 of the 3 cameras to update the firmware. When it did, the camera worked fine, but I did have to logout, restart my phone, and take the battery out of the camera (not just push the sync button). Definitely a bit frustrating when setting up multiple cameras. I have 3 of these and also a doorbell and floodlight. Altogether, the technical component of setting up and having access on my phone took nearly four hours. That's a lot of time for someone who is pretty adept at technology! The camera itself works great, audio quality is superb, and the picture quality is much better than I expected!

The connection is very easy and the install. The video quality is very good also. I bought a three camera kit and they all had the security key feature but this single camera didn’t. I wish they made all cameras with the security key. Other than that its a good purchase

2345 I have recently installed the Arlo pro 4 wireless cameras. I was hesitant at first not knowing how much it would take to set up and mount. But was happily surprised. They took less than 20 minutes to set up the app, mount where I wanted and have them up and running. The picture quality is amazing. The app is very user friendly and now I can check on both my front and backyard anytime I want. This is a great buy and system. My wife and I couldn’t be happier.

Not a terrible amount I can say about the new Arlo Pro 4 that hasn't been said about the Pro 3. The only real difference is that the Pro 4 can now be connected direct to WiFi without the need for a Hub (it can also be connected to an existing hub). The Pro 4 offers all the same great features of the Pro 3 including outstanding video quality, great night mode and spotlight capability, and awesome battery life. Arlo cameras are still the best wireless camera solution I have found. Yes, they are a tad pricey, but they are fabulous cameras and offer Homekit support which is important in my very Apple-centric home. Frankly, if you want the best then there is really no other.
