    As a realtor and in the lakes region we deal in 2nd homes a lot. my brother has Arlo cameras with a cube style battery they stay charged for months at a time. So I have been recommending to my clients for a couple years now so when it came my turn to need a security system it was an easy choice unfortunately they now put such a poor quality battery in them now it has to be recharged every 7 to 10 days turning me into a baby sitter! ruining what once a great product DO NOT BUY THIS PRODCT

    No base station included in this package. That would be fine, but, the company basically stopped selling base stations in what appears to be an attempt to force their customers to their cloud system of monitoring cameras. The software is awful. Go with a different brand.

    The Arlo Pro 4 cameras are great. They have excellent video and audio resolution and the app alerts to your phone keep you up to date with everything they see. (Could benefit from a bit more notification settings)

    Long lag time for camera to record after motion sensor activates misses whatever tripped the sensor. Supposed to be able to continuously record, but no option seemed to exist. Returned the purchase.

    No HomeKit support

    Thought I can use HomeKit with a base station like they said in the description. Turns out they don’t sell any base station or smart hub anymore. You have to open the app to arm or disarm the camera. The geofence isn’t reliable as HomeKit.

    would never recommend this product. Had Geek Squad out on 2 different occasions and they could not get product to work. returned these and bought Ring cameras.

    Great camera for outdoors or indoors. Charger with magnetic cable make it easy to charge. Don’t have to remove camera from location. Great resolution.

    It really is a bad investment, the signal is not so good with the use of Wi-Fi I have not tried the paid monitoring system, it has not been a purchase to great satisfaction and the price is very something

    2 cameras didn't hold a charge for more than a couple days at a time and the arlo app logs you out and won't let you log back in, im.not sure if this is a glitch but very frustrating

    EZ 2 set up, locate, use, and has features galore

    The Arlo Pro 4 camera has a great deal to rave about and minimal to not like. The Arlo makes my fifth home camera, and so I have a basis for comparison. It looks and feels extremely well made with a body that seals the camera workings from weather. First comes installation. I visited the website and installed the app in 2 minutes. This was the easiest camera install I have ever experienced. I began by charging the camera battery while it was in the camera housing. The charge cord had a magnet that resulted in the connection being perfect as the connector and battery terminal aligned perfectly by literally jumping into the perfect position. The battery came almost fully charged. Zero cords, and once the battery (supposed to last 6 months between charges) was installed ( it took less than 30 seconds to do so) I was up and running in about 3 minutes. The app recognized the camera and asked that I bring the camera to a foot or so away and point the Arlo camera at the QRL code image appearing on my phone. A few moments later all was set up and I was advised by the app to wait a few minutes (it took about 3) as the software was being updated. The entire operation was smooth as silk and quick. Locating the camera was ultra easy as there was no need to locate a power outlet. Once you select a location for the camera, the app tells you the signal strength. A single screw in any surface -- mounting was simple and fast. The mount has a very strong magnet and the camera attaches to the mount magnetically at just about any desired angle. A few looks at the image, a minor positioning adjustment using the magnet mount, and I had the perfect down angle to capture the area of concern. I placed the mount about 9 feet high for the superb coverage. The mount should not be placed where it may easily be accessed without a ladder because the camera may then be grabbed and easily removed from it's magnet mount without any tools. The camera is equipped with a microphone, spot light and with a siren. By going to the app, you may set it to turn on the lite, the microphone for conversation, and/or the siren upon detecting motion. You may set the boundaries of the motion detection surveillance to eliminate unnecessary alerts from, as an example -- street traffic. The software will also provide package delivery detection. Apparently, when an object is detected, but then remains motionless, it sets off the package detection alert on your smart phone, tablet, or whatever ( I love receiving the visual alert on my Apple Watch). The app has settings for people, pets, etc. I particularly like the "GEO FENCING" feature. The app allows setting an area considered "HOME" on a local map. Whenever your phone, or tablet, leaves the area, the system automatically arms (camera is turned on). When you return, you may use your phone to disarm the camera motion detection. The imagery is excellent (2K) with vibrant colors, and may be zoomed and panned. So, is there anything not to like? Storage of video comes free of charge for 30 days, then you have to decide if you want the video clips stored for later review. If you do, you must subscribe to the Arlo storage plan. The cost for 2K storage for a month for 1 camera is under $3. I feel it is worth having the in-cloud Arlo 30 day storage, at such a modest price, note: local storage on a memory chip or local hard drive is not an option. My other cameras detect motion and provide alerts within a few seconds. The Arlo reacts more slowly, like 10 to 15 seconds. For my purposes, this is not a problem or concern. If I find a need for a 6th camera, I would choose the Arlo pro 4 over my other 2 brands.
