Nice camera and it hooks directly to the internet, no base station is required. Also, much wider view then before, and it automatically zooms in on any movement for a better look

Great wireless security camera that will give you piece of mind. Love the ease of setup and the great video resolution. Get 2k or better if you want super crisp video.

I can't access the library to see the videos. It's too expensive to have the "cloud". I bought the "hub" to cut down on monthly charges and it doesn't work when away from home.

Notification time is at least 1 min. Way to slow. My driveway is at least 40 ft and people are at my door before I'm notified. Not what I wanted.

I originally got the ultra’s first. This is a preferable alternative to the ultra. One of the biggest selling point is there is no base station required for use.

Picture image is grainy even in the best quality. Won’t show motion unlike my Wyze cam that is in the same section and I can’t return the cameras because they are past the return policy

Would not connect for Geek Squad install, have to return... They have issues with initial install a lot with this brand they said. Recommended Ring.

The quality of this camera was eye-opening, to say the least. The picture quality (color, with color night vision) will leave you wondering if it is a high-end web camera or a security device. It captures video and snap shots in great, full, HDR color, and is equipped with a spot light as well. The Arlo 4 allows for voice communication through the camera itself, as well as activation of the built-in security alarm. It also has a wide array of personalization options, including the option of using the camera through a virtual smart hub or by connecting it wirelessly to a base station (which I appreciate, as I have a 2- camera Arlo set-up through a base station and was able to add this to it). As someone who already owns 2 Arlo wireless cameras, and who has had good experiences with them, there was an established level of quality expected, and I am elated to say the Arlo 4 exceeded that bar in almost every way. The one thing that I thought would be easier with this device that turned out to be slightly behind my previous Arlo cameras is the synching process & instructions. The only instructions here are a pamphlet saying go to the web site or download the app for instructions, and unless you have used one of these specific type of cameras before, you will likely not be able to assemble the device on your own. Since this device is app-dependent (or at least net dependent) , you'd want to download the app anyways, but they could at least show you how to install the battery/assemble the device, or how to use the charging cord, in the hard-copy instructions (it's a cool, modern, magnetized connector that I've never seen before). All that aside, once you download the app, it literally takes you through very simple, easy, concise, and clear instructions to assemble and activate (or sync) the camera. There was a moment during set-up when the device wasn't recognized by my base station, but the app instructions intuitively pivoted to manual sync instructions, which was quick with the camera's built-in sync button. I've knocked off a star for not having hard-copy assembly instructions, and for the extra step to sync it with my previous base station, but this camera is extremely high quality, has an undeniably strong set of features, and is easy to set up (in spite of my preference for hard-copy instructions). I'd definitely recommend this to anyone in the market for a wireless security camera, especially since owners of base stations can add one of these to a pre-existing camera set, or upgrade their cameras to these. Solid product.

I have several Arlo cameras and a doorbell, and I really like all my Arlo devices, so I was really looking forward to this newer model as I have 2 first generation Arlo Pro models. As soon as you open the box you notice there is little in the way of instructions. You are asked to sign into the app to setup the camera and get your instructions. This was easy enough at first as I had little difficulty following the instructions to get the battery installed but then things got difficult. I tried to pair it with my base station and it just would not sync. It was not until I went online that I learned of a sync button on the inside of the camera and I had to remove the camera from the housing, like you must do when installing a battery, and press the sync button. As soon as I did this it went well from there, but I think the app could do a better job here or Arlo could send better instructions in the box. You should not have to go online to get details about a sync button for setup. Once I got the camera setup it was easy to adjust the record mode how I wanted. Looking over the outside of the camera I noticed the charging adapter has been changed from older models. While I do not really like needing two different cords to charge my cameras, I understand why they made the change and think it is now better suited for outdoor use as I was always worried the silicone cap would come loose on the older cameras and allow water to get in. Overall, the camera has a nice sturdy feel and seems like it is better sealed for outdoor use. Part of the reason I like Arlo more than competitors is because of how they handle recordings. You get to keep recordings in the cloud for 7 days and you have the option of adding storage to a base station to give you much more and you can avoid the costly subscription fees. Security cameras are already expensive and kudos to Arlo for setting the bar in this category to allow users more record time! Video quality is great, and you can clearly make out details in images. When zooming in, the images are much clearer than my old Arlo cameras and the image quality alone is well worth an upgrade. I was leery about the spotlight since it seemed so small but using it in an interior room lights up the room nicely and images are just as clear as if someone had turned a light on. The night vision is also exceptionally good and creates clear images. As far as battery life goes, I still do not know how it is going to stack up. In the 5 days or so I have had it setup it is now at 94%. If the battery lasts anywhere near as long as those on my older cameras, I will be happy. I think my next investment might be a solar panel to avoid pulling the camera down from its mount to recharge. Overall, I am incredibly happy with the camera. Other than the hiccup during setup it is a strong camera and I like it much better than the older Arlo cameras I have. A worthy upgrade, or if you do not have a security camera it is a nice start!

Pretty good but a little slow......................

We love being able to know our home is safe, and our pets are not tearing up our house while we are out!

Do NOT BUY. Complete JUNK. Constant issues. Customer support is HORRIBLE looking to get my money back. Not recording at night. Just up and quit all together. Can not get cameras to come back online.

Decided to try this after my nest cam fell and broke. Thought the wireless and colored night vision would be worth the extra money. It’s not! Going back to get another nest cam!

Another great addition to the all ready great security camera system. Voice Clarity and voice volume. Can hear what people are saying while the camera is watching!

Tried for three weeks to hook up to wifi. Gave up and returned item for Ring.

This was an addition to my existing system. . I have had good reception with the older models and decided to try this one out. So far, so good.

Do NOT buy this device! You CAN'T talk through the cameras to whoever is in front of the camera. Volume is VERY LOW.....KNOWN issue, and tech doesn't care!!
