Not good for Distance Outside.

Peace of Mind

The picture resolution is phenomenal which equals crystal clear picture. The 160 degree wide view only adds to everything. The camera paired with app gives me a peace of mind when it comes to the security of my home. Before I bought these I had the Arlo Ultra 2 cameras. The Pro 4 paired seamlessly in the app with the Ultra 2 cameras.

Pure JUNK

Support is always a 24 hour turn around and i dont' want to keep babysitting these cameras to see if they are working.

Great camera, easy to use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must say I was nervous to pick up this camera due to other reviews indicating the battery would only last a week, but I figured I would give it a shot, and I’m glad I did. I’m not sure if the reviews about bad battery life had a defective unit, didn’t fully charge the battery, or maybe have an obscene amount of motion alerts, but I did not have that issue. Maybe there was a firmware update by Arlo that fixed this. I have had the camera installed about 3 weeks, and it started fully charged, and as I write this review has 73% battery remaining. The camera is installed in my driveway facing down it towards the road. Now things are different during covid, but my wife and I still venture out of the house for drives almost daily. To give you an idea of use foe the camera and what it picks up, it detects vehicles passing by (which you can set motion zones in the settings to turn this off if need be). It picks up the delivery drivers dropping off my packages almost daily. Also picks up the neighborhood stray cats, rabbits, and occasional deer that roam up my driveway and into the backyard. So this camera does get its use and still has a good amount of battery life. Install was pretty simple. You wanna get the camera out of the box, downlod the Arlo app, and follow the instructions to get the camera setup. Installation was easy as well just involved a small 4 foot ladder and a drill to get the bracket mounted. The camera has a really strong magnetic attachment to the base. Obviously if you place the camera high enough out of reach you should be fine from theft, but if its reachable from the ground you should invest in a more permanent mount for the camera. Camera is easily compatible with Google Home, has a built in led spotlight and alarm, which you can access manually if need be. Its loud so if you had to trigger it im sure it would deter any unwanted company. You can also trigger calling 911 from the camera app, although im not sure why you would go into the app to do that, and not just call 911 normally from the phone app if you needed it. Seems odd but its there nonetheless! Overall a good camera and recommended!

Worst customer technical support ever, don't buy.

First was products that do NOT perform as sold, second is the inept and useless technical support at Arlo. I really wish I had paid more attention to the negative reviews on these products, I would have saved a lot of time and sanity. I would NEVER buy an Arlo product again.

Arlo Wireless Security Camera

The physical setup of the camera was straightforward and easy, the magnetic mount is a great design and helped make the camera easy to install. It did worry me, if it was going to move or slip off its mount, but it seems to be holding very well. The app setup was easy and straightforward. The biggest thing I’m looking for in the security camera is the video quality and wireless connection. So far I have no problems with the connection and the 2k video quality looks crisp. It integrated well into the rest of my smart home devices. Overall, I’m happy with my experience in using the Arlo Pro 4 security camera and I feel more safe in my home with better peace of mind. FEATURES: • 2K HDR. • Color night vision • Integrated spotlight. • Quick and simple wire-free setup • Magnetic mount • Connects directly to Wi-Fi (No need for hub) • 160-degree field of view • 2-way audio • Built in smart siren • Rechargeable battery • Six-month battery life on one charge (depending on how often its tripped). PROS: • Magnetic mount makes it easy to adjust and it’s strong. • Wire free • Easy app setup • No need for additional smart hub to connect online • Magnet cable for charging is great and easy to use. Snaps right in. • Spotlight is great for night video capture • Video and audio quality are great • I personally like the rounded design of the camera CONS: • Live video feed has a slight video and audio delay since it’s over Wi-Fi. This delay can make two-way voice communication awkward. • You have to recharge the Arlo every couple of weeks, compared to a “set it and forget it” hard-wired video surveillance system. • Wi-Fi connection is limited to a 2.4GHz network. I wish it had the option to connect to a faster, less crowded network (like 5 GHz) for flexibility.

Great Quality Image
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 2 Arlo Pro 2's set up on either side of my house just below the roof facing the street. I bought 2 mounts for them and mounted them covering the entire front area of the house. The one bad thing about the Arlo cameras is that you have to remove them in order to get to the battery and charge them which meant that every 4-5 months I had to get my ladder, climb up and take them down to charge them and after charging, back up the ladder to put them back and readjust them to the proper angle again. I solved that problem by buying 2 solar panels and installing them next to the Arlo cameras and now I never have to climb up to charge them again. The only problem is that the resolution is only 1080p and when my neighbor who lives directly opposite me had his car broken into, my cameras couldn't get enough detail to identify the culprit. When I saw that the Arlo Pro 4 had 2 K resolution, I figured I could replace at least one of them and with the added spotlight it would be a deterrent to crime. I was surprised that the new Arlo Pro 4 didn't have a standard charging Micro-USB jack but used a magnetic charging plug. That means I would have to buy a new Solar panel again. I decided to leave things the way they were and put the new Arlo Pro 4 in my backyard. I mounted the base on the back wall of my garage and adjusted the camera watching the video on my iPhone and it seemed OK. When I walked inside and tried to access the camera again, it tried very hard to establish a connection but it just couldn't do it. It connected to my WiFi and worked when I was standing outside so why didn't it work when I walked inside. I'm using the Eero 6 mesh router so I get full house and backyard coverage and yet I couldn't get a strong enough signal for it. I removed the camera and put in inside my house looking out the window and have a pretty good image but the base that magnetically holds the camera just doesn't give me an angle that points down enough to see the front of my house perfectly. I will have to get some kind of tripod to hold and angle the camera the way I want to. Setting up the app was pretty easy since I already had the 2 other cameras in the app, I just added the new one and it appeared right away. The quality of the image is much better than the Pro 2s but I'm really disappointed that they changed the charging system. If you don't already have a camera system, this would make a great security system since you can zoom in and see details pretty clearly.

Expansive Paper Weight.

My camera never worked properly, and Arlo support was never able to resolve issues. Camera is limited to a range less than 50 feet. Sits in box as a paperweight on my desk as an interesting conversation piece.

When I tried to chat with someone they ended the chat when they couldn't answer my question. I had Arlo cameras in the past and they were great. the newer cameras require a monthly subscription.
