The Arlo Pro 4 security camera is solidly built and offers a twist - it is truly, completely wireless. Featuring WiFi connectivity and a rechargeable battery that boasts 6 months of battery life(!) the unit can be mounted without regard to network wiring or available power outlets. The mount is also novel; the two piece assembly features a wall mount base with an incredibly strong magnet that connects to the camera body. This has two major advantages - you can point the camera quickly and easily in almost any direction and it is easy to unmount the unit for charging. The feature set is rich and comprehensive. The video quality is very good and even though the viewing angle is fairly wide the fish-eye effect has been minimized. Although the camera can stand alone it's advanced features come into play with a subscription to the "Arlo Smart" service. A three month trial is included. A couple of quick notes - the Arlo App is pretty good although trying to make out details on a smartphone screen can be challenging. One VERY important item is that this device will ONLY connect to a 2.4GHz network. Make sure to change your phone over to the appropriate SSID before you try installing the product. Your frustration level will grow rapidly if you miss this requirement. Overall the product exceeded my expectations and I would recommend you to put it on your short-list if you are looking for security products.

It offers a lot: spotlight, motion detector, wide range of view, 2k resolution, ability to see at night, ability to hear and speak with anyone near the camera, and ease of installation.

Easy Setup & Use, Plus Waterproof for Outdoor Use

These cameras are so very easy to setup and connect to the app on your phone. So long as you have internet service or I'm going to use a MiFi these cameras are super easy to setup. The picture quality and sound quality are great. They have a really secure waterproof seal around the camera so that they look like they will stand up well to outdoor use. I am looking to find an extra security cable to attach to the camera to add a layer to prevent someone from easily ripping them off.

Purchased this combo to replace my arlo 2 camers and hub. it was on sale and that helped. setup was pretty straight forward. i did learn the unit has to be fully assembled and charged or it wont scan the qr code during setup. i will be purchasing the plan as required for these cameras. i have 2 installed and am working through some issues on the 3rd camera, but otherwise i am very happy.

    Mostly Good with some glitches

I've had the cameras for a week- crisp picture, great motion detection, but have had a few unexplained glitches - one drained a fully charged battery in a day despite being in a place where little motion happened and one inexplicably went offline despite there being strong wifi and full battery. easily reset but these periodic issues lead me to deduct a star.

    Worth Buying

Cameras are decent and sett up is easy. I purchased the 20 charging cables so I don't have to climb ladders to pull dead batteries that died 10 minutes before my car got broken into. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the clunky app but hopefully with a couple upgrades it will be better. It is subscription based

Arlo cameras were easy to install. Adequate picture quality. One battery did not keep the charge after first charge- just changed it so we’ll see if remains charged this time. I would like a longer trial period for the Arlo subscription. One month is not sufficient time to know if a subscription is worth the cost.

Bought product on Black Friday and received it by Wednesday. Set up wasn’t the greatest with very minimal instructions, took half a day to set everything up. After downloading the app camera must be set up one by one. Video quality is great and play back feature is awesome. Battery life doesn’t last long if your notifications are always on. First battery died within 3 days. No real way to save on battery life except by turning the camera off if you absolutely don’t need it on!!!

    Like but not love.

I love the motion sensor and the notification. Picture quality is okay. The downside of it is that the battery drains constantly. If you have tall areas you’re wanting to install this, then it’ll be inconvenient to replace the batteries. Other than that it’s good.

The batteries not coming charged is a bit inconvenient. The online software takes quite a while for the video stream to load. They don't pick up the internet as well as I had hoped. However the install was mostly painless and the picture quality and sound quality is more than decent. Overall, would purchase again.

    Nothing to write home about

Easy set up. Video quality is ok day and okish night. Battery life is laughable compared to the 6 month advertised. (2 stars knocked because of that, although knocking 3 is close) Battery might last 6 months if the camera is off. I have mine set on the lowest settings and i am recharging them every couple weeks. One of the 4 batteries last only a week, maybe. (There's one spare battery) Activity zones are ok accuracy wise. You can set the boundaries but you'll still get notifications if someone/thing is within 5-10 feet of it. Animal, person, package, and general motion sensors seem very accurate (within the activity zone). Overall ok system. Relies on internet which can be a drawback. Batteries absolutely suck!!!!! Accuracy is good. Video quality is good day. Okish night. not worth the price due to battery life. Im convinced they had some dude point the camera at a wall where nothing happens all day and he was like "yup, battery works." Then went back to watching tictoc.

    Does the job

Set up was relatively straightforward. You can connect the cameras directly to your Wi-Fi network without needing a hub. Video quality is decent as long as you subscribe to their monthly storage plan which comes to about $13 a month. Their activity zones and automation settings are useful, but can be a bit finicky. For example, we kept getting notifications from our front yard camera when there was movement outside of the activity zone that we had selected. The system also seemed to be confused with when to set the appropriate modes. This could be user error, but I feel like it should have been a pretty straightforward process. Overall, the system does what we want and expect it to do.

    Arlo Pro 4 Spotlight Cameras

Just purchased and installed the new Arlo Pro 4 Spotlight Cameras on the exterior of my house, the goal is to augment our current security system with high-performance outdoor wireless cameras. The Arlo Pro 4 cameras are a little on the expensive side, but trust me it's worth the investment (the cheaper ones are terrible). The set-up and installation process was relatively simple, especially given the magnetic mounts (very strong).Even though I am just learning the system and need to work out my own tech-kinks, I highly recommend this product!

You just can't beat these cameras

I already have four Arlo cameras, but I didn't have the Pro 4 yet.  My experience with Arlo wireless cameras has been very positive.  I've used them for the past six plus years.  They are simple to mount, simple to set up and have many features. The Pro 4 specifically offers three features my other cameras don't have.  The first one is a zoom/follow feature that will actually zoom in on a subject and track it's movement when triggered.  You can turn this feature on or off in the settings.  My camera is mounted at my front porch and I find that it works really well for objects that are a bit farther away.  For instance, a car going by.  It tracks it well and zooms in on it.  But for anyone walking up to my front porch, it takes just a little too long to find what caused the motion and home in on it. The second new feature is a built in LED spot light.  The light comes on when the camera is triggered.  It's a bright light and is well suited for areas that are not already lit up.  It offers a fair amount of light and will not only scare away a would be intruder, but lets them know they are being recorded.  If you don't need the light to come on because of where you've placed the camera, you can turn it off under settings. The third feature is 2K resolution.  You can use either the 2K resolution feature OR the zoom feature.  But it doesn't allow you to use both at the same time.  I chose the 2K resolution for my front porch mounting.  Video is crisp and clear and noticeably better compared to my other Arlo cameras. It also has two way communication that allows you to talk to someone while you're looking at them on your phone.  A siren that you can either set up to turn on when the camera is triggered, or turn on from your phone if you don't like what you see. I already have an Arlo base station and it found and connected the Pro 4 very quickly.  You do not need to have a base station to use this camera, it will connect to your WiFi by itself.  However, using it with the base station does give you better control and more options of how to store your video.  I've never had any trouble with any of my cameras losing signal and I have them all over the outside of my house. If you're not familiar with the Arlo app, I can tell you... it's great.  Very well thought out and intuitive to use.  You can access every setting from it for all your cameras, set up different modes of operation, define a schedule for each camera for when you don't want it to be triggered, set up your notifications, etc., etc..  I use it on my Samsung S10+ and I get notifications on my phone from all my cameras.  I also have a Galaxy Watch, and get notifications on that as well.  A new feature I've noticed with the Pro 4 is that the watch notification will show me a snapshot of what triggered the camera, right on the watch. Some people in other reviews have complained about poor battery life but I've been using them for years and have the same batteries in them that they came with.  I charge mine about every couple of months.  The Pro 4, may require a bit more charging because of all the features it offers, and that must at some point translate into battery life, but I fully charged this camera 4 or 5 days ago and the battery level is at 98% today.   I love these cameras.  You can't beat the ease of installation and setup combined with the great video quality in both daylight and night conditions.  Having to charge the battery once every couple of months is well worth it to me.  If it bothers you that much, Arlo sells a solar charging panel that you can mount next to your camera and never have to worry about charging it again.  That also lets you put it in a less accessible area for even better coverage, like on your second story.  Can't say enough about these cameras.

I have used the old wireless Arlo and the ArloQ cameras for years and was satisfied with them. But just bought the Arlo Pro 4. It was super easy to install (as well as the SmartHub) and the quality and options on this camera are much better than the old ones. Definitely worth the extra cost for all the added functionality. I am very happy I upgraded! And, moving the old cameras to the new SmartHub was also super easy. Seamless transition.
