Overall great product.. cameras can be very sensitive to movement but can be adjusted. Recommend solar panel charger if pointed towards street or high movement area. As it will pick all the movement, and drain battery quicker.

Super easy to setup, great clarity on the cameras. I only had to buy one accessory (solar panel) for the one that faces the street because its battery life is depleted more due to more notifications.

Great to see what is going on outside. Would give it 5 stars, but you can't really see a person's face. Surprised about all the animal activity.

Full Disclosure - I haven't set these up yet. Our home suffered a number of unfortunate damage due to a lightning strike near our home. We lost a host of electronic devices to include routers, computers, televisions, video game controllers, a pool pump, a number of fuse blocks in the electrical panels, solar panel inverters, a lawn sprinkler control and our Arlo Pro3 security cameras along with the smart hub that came with them. In short, we haven't set up our cameras yet. We had a fire and are finishing up with the interior remodeling first. I hope to get these up soon but have other priorities. I do want to point out some nuances with these cameras that changed from the Pro 3 system we previously employed. The Pro 3 system included a smart hub. The hub was a dedicated router that could record from the cameras using a usb SD card. Since you can also purchase their cloud storage using a subscription, there's no need for the hub. You see where this is going. They did away with the hub. Now, you get security feeds on your phone that you can manually transfer to a storage media, or you can pay Arlo a monthly fee. The only problem I had was when our system was destroyed by lightning, I couldn't find a way to stop paying the monthly subscription. I went to my online account and couldn't find any links leading to cancellation or changing my payment method. I ended up paying for several months of service before I had to cancel my credit card and have another one issued. They canceled my account when I stopped paying. So, if you start a subscription, please ask how to opt out of service or change your payment method if either of those options are ever required. I plan to restart the service when I install my cameras and will ask at the time how to manage the account in case we ever get struck or if the camera ever fail. Our Pro 3 cameras worked for almost a year without any problems. I set zones, recorded a host of critters in the yard and used a combination of solar chargers and plugged-in outlets to power the system. The cameras work great and the batteries have a 3-month charging cycle. If you can't connect them to power, you'll likely forget to pull the batteries and charge them until they go out, months after you install them. They're expensive, but do work very well. You should consider them. I'm replacing my damaged cameras with another set. I hear they have Pro 5s out now. Look at what you can afford, compare features and add security and peace of mind to your home.

Very easy to install and operate. Battery life is at 95% after two months. Night vision and recording is very good. To view live camera takes about 30/45 seconds to connect.

They were easy to setup once I noticed the network speed they had to be at. I have had them setup since I purchased them and they are still on the same charge. I would like to have been able to buy the solar chargers at the same time, but my Best Buy did not carry them.

We had an Arlo 2 camera system and decided to upgrade to the Arlo 4 so we could have night color. Best decision we could have made. We did our homework on the different security systems and Arlo by far received the best reviews. We are super pleased with our Arlo 4 security system.

These cameras do great, but if you try to zoom in the images are blurry which is why I can not give them a 5 star. These cameras are designed better than the older basic edition Arlo cameras. I love how these ones charge compared to the old ones as well and so far the battery life seems to last longer in these ones

The cameras are fine. They generally work well and if they are in a low traffic area the battery seems to last a month or two. In a higher traffic area like a construction site even with limited alerts they seem to last about a week max.

Let's start with camera quality. Middling at best. With 2k recording at best video quality, it's mangnally better than my old Pro 2. You won't be able to read license plates or get a good face past 6 feet. At this rate, I don't see the point of 2k at all. And if you want to enjoy 2k at best video quality, you will be changing and charging batteries every week and an half with areas of moderate residential pedestrian traffic. Higher volume areas would likely not last the week. Plug it in or get a solar panel, at an additional charge (keep in mind they many people report that the solar panel only slows the power drain, so you would still be swapping batteries). The app is buggy and the cameras will sometimes not turn on for live viewing or for positioning setup. Doesn't see to affect motion recording. These new cameras DO NOT have a free recording period like the older Pro 2. I was not aware of this but that was my fault for not reading the fine print closely enough. You get a free trial on the premium service but you will have to pay up if you want to do any recording afterwards. They offer some nice discounts, like 50 precent off, and bombard you with ads in the app to buy the service... But the sale doesn't apply to the annually price as that is already "discounted". Look, you can call it a "discount" if you want to but I consider the base rate the normal price, either monthly or annually. The sale price is on the monthly rate for 3 months after which you pay full price. The company is betting that you would forget about the monthly charge, seems rather dishonest to me. All of this has me regretting my purchase. I can't return them anymore so I'll use them for another year (with my super "discounted" premium service rate of $120+tax) then i will be sell them off second hand and get a better system. I wish I did more research because these cameras and the service is absolutely junk.

I bought this thinking it would be the Goldy Locks solution to my outdoor camera needs. I didn't have power and/or ethernet in every location, and I needed to deploy a solution relatively quickly. It is picked as a favorite by many reviewers, and with a higher resolution than many other WIFI cameras, I figured it would be a safe pick. I was shocked at how poorly the Arlo Pro 4 cameras performed. I tried them in many locations both inside and outside the house. The Arlo cameras self-reported a strong network connection, so you can't blame my network. So I quickly bought a set of Ring Stickup cameras, and a Wyze v3 camera. I set the cameras side by side in various locations. The Arlo Pro 4 cameras were consistently the worst performers. While it took 4 seconds or less to connect to the Ring and Wyze cameras, it consistently took over 8 seconds to connect to the Arlo Pro 4 cameras, and oftentimes much more. And the reward for waiting that long to connect? An image that was grainier than the Ring and Wyze cameras despite the fact that at 2K resolution the Arlo should be much sharper. Bottom line -- don't automatically believe the reviews. If you want to try these out, leave yourself plenty of time to return them and start over with something else if they're not working for you.
