We bought 3 Pro4 Spotlight cams and 1 Pro3 Floodlight cam, plus 3 solar panels, and 1 indoor charging cord for the 1 camera we put indoors. These cameras won't record a license plate at night because of the reflection, but if the car gets close enough during daylight hours they will. The battery won't charge while the temp is below something like -10°F so I don't know what we'll do at that point. We mounted them high enough so that you need a ladder to access them because you know, they're SECURITY cameras. But we live in Maine so it's definitely going to get colder than that, all we can hope is that when it's that cold there will be nobody out participating in shenanigans. One thing I just realized today is that, although you can only mute notifications for 3 hours or 24 hours (why is there no 8-9 hour choice, for business hours??), you can create a custom mode where it will *still record but won't notify you*. You do need to turn that on and off manually but it's still an improvement.

    Rechargeable batteries are a plus

As per usual these days, there was minimal instructions but I eventually figured out how the cameras operate. The sale price was the main reason for the purchase. I really dislike the fact that you have to purchase the rights, another words subscribe, to see your security footage after the "free" introductory preview. I have the old system which I did not have to have a subscription, but the $20.00 battery purchase every 2 to 3 months became cost prohibitive. And rechargeable batteries of this size are a joke in that their 1/2 life is about a year and the charging unit melted.

The Arlo Pro 4 is great for the appropriate application. This might not be the best choice if they are your only video coverage. But for area awareness, quick install and/or temporary need, the Pro 4 is hard to beat. Super easy to set up virtually anywhere that has WiFi, provides good video for area awareness, the batteries last a long time, and the app is useful. The motion light is a great addition. Things that aren’t great: expensive, easily stolen if you don’t mount them right, facial recognition only in ideal conditions.

You get good quality for the price. These are easy to set up and use. Will be buying more. You do get clear recording. The only thing i did not like to much is that one of the solar panel does not want to charge well. That why i purchased as well with the cameras she i dont have totake them off to charge them. Other then that they work good so far. Its been about a month now.

This camera setup is a decent product, except for the battery life and delay in the app. The cameras have a great picture during the day and at night, but the delay to see whose on the camera when they are actually still there needs work. By the time you get the ding to let you know someone is there, they are gone. Then you try to view the app to see who it was, and it takes a while for the video to actually pop up in the library, and to connect to the cameras takes a while as well. I have 6 cameras, 2 sets of this product, and the two facing the street, even with the activity zones being very small, and the power management being on optimized, I’m replacing the battery in them every week. I purchased one solar panel for a camera and it seems to make the battery last 2 weeks. I definitely would purchase this product again, but I would really consider a camera setup that is wired so I don’t have to change the battery’s so often.

I have the arlo pro 2 and they work very well. I wanted to upgrade and purchased these. I love them. I like the fact that I can charge them without taking them down or changing the batteries. I purchased the cable to to charge them which attaches to the camera via magnet. I used to have to take the pro 2 down to charge them. Way easier now. Quality it great. Love the spotlight, which is motion activated and is really bright and great for getting those nightime alerts.

Night time wonder. It lights up on sensing object at night or on low light man, that’s an awesome feature and mind blowing sharpness with hi-def picture quality resolution -looks better than your naked eye vision (I said naked eye vision, not the other naked…lol). l Love it…… PERIOD.

Theyre great for having no hub. Have to pay for subscription, though, bummer. One of the three cameras just gave out after 19 months. Support non existent. Still, decent buy for some home security at a decent price.

The bundle offered really made this a no-brainer even though they are on the pricey side. Installation and setup was super easy and being able to use the existing wifi network was a bonus. These cameras have excellent video and audio quality. The mic will pick up conversations crystal clear from 20 feet away. I have some legacy arlo cams currently in use and my experience with the Pro 4s may lead me to upgrade the rest of them!

The system installed easy and the quality of the camera images are great. My frustration is the duration of the battery life. I activate the camera late at night and its dead within a week or two tops. I used these to secure my mobile house/ sprinter and they seem to do the job. I would have gone with a different system if i knew the batteries would not last.

System was fairly easy to set up. I am waiting for solar chargers to be available in multi-packs again before I order them. I would have liked to get more recording distance in my back yard as well as mount angle. Otherwise I am satisfied great picture and sound.

Live Feed Delay, Poor Battery Life, Cheap Material

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have not owned cameras from other companies, so I don't know how this product compares to the competition. For the following reasons, I think the Pro 4 is a poor value: 1. Significant time delay in live feed and mobile app notifications: I bought these cameras because I've had packages stolen from my front door. I've had a couple instances of trespassing that my side camera has caught, but both times I wasn't able to catch the person because there was a 15-20 second delay on the mobile app feed. The camera is within 10 feet of my modem and router, so I am pretty sure this problem is due to outdated wireless technology in the transmitter. 2. Motion detection problems: The camera in the front of my house goes dead within 2 days because it mistakenly detects motion. I have the motion activity detection area set to a minimal space in front of my door, but if a car goes by or a light flickers anywhere in the field of vision, the camera will send a motion alert. I tried reducing motion detection sensitivity in the app, but it did not help. 3. Battery life: If you read through the reviews for this camera at any retailer, you will see the battery life is a universal issue. My cameras go dead as soon as 2 days, and in my experience last at maximum 2 weeks with little to no motion detection. Because of this, the cameras are essentially useless when used as wireless devices. 4. Poor quality plastics I have to regularly dismount and recharge my cameras because the battery life is so short. When I took one down off of its mount, I accidentally dropped it and the camera popped out from its white plastic housing. The inner camera plastic cracked so severely that the camera will no longer snap into place (see photos). I don't recommend purchasing this camera system. I made the mistake of buying several of them at once, and I regret not returning them as soon as I started having issues.

Nice cameras, work well. There was an initial problem with one of the cameras connecting to WiFi but then going offline. It was reported by n numerous customers in the Arlo Support Portal. Arlo support was on it and resolved the issue in less than 24 hours. Cameras have operated flawless since then. Only wish that the speaker for transmitting audio was a little bit better. Great picture and night vision works well.

The cameras were easily setup and installed. I had a couple of communication issues but they seem to have gone away after using the cameras for a couple of weeks. Battery life is looking to be closer to six weeks than six months.
