My boyfriend and I bought this for our apartment and couldn't believe how functional it is! You can watch live video, send an alarm if intruders come in and even speak through the speakers. All of it is connected through wifi. It's a cool and inexpensive camera system. We would definitely recommend it.

I did purchase the Ring Stick Up cam before this is was not a fan. Battery went quickly and kept disconnecting. After playing around with the Arlo I have enjoyed the experience. Once mounted outside using night vision, the camera battery life depletes much quicker than without night vision.

Don't buy this product. It does not work. I purchased this security system about a month ago and set it up in my vacation home. I also purchased a new router that was recommended by the tech at Best Buy to support it. All of the cameras were inside the home and close to the router. I was able to add the 4 cameras to the base router and they worked for about 1 day. Then they started failing one by one for various reasons. The first failed because the battery fully discharged in one day but showed full charge when installed. The second camera sent me emails every 30 seconds (not exaggerating) when there was no movement in the room where it was installed. I had to turn it off so I could use my email for other things. The third and fourth went offline (i.e. couldn't be accessed by the system and couldn't receive any video.) The only way to fix a camera that goes offline is to uninstall it and then reinstall it manually. Since the cameras are intended to provide remote security, this is impossible as I am not there to spend full time trying to keep the cameras on the network. I finally uninstalled all of the cameras, fully charged them and started over from scratch. I reinstalled the cameras. I was able to reinstall 3 of the 4. The fourth just wouldn't show up in the software but it appeared to be online. The next day they were all offline again and not working. I returned the package to the store. The product is just not ready for market and does not work. This product is a great concept if it worked, but security cameras that don't work are useless for security or any other purpose.

I gave it 4 stars because I had one camera go bad and I had to return it to Arlo. The return process was very difficult but they did exchange it. Be prepared for loooong phone times and being disconnected several times. There were some language barrier problems with the customer service too.
