The system catches sound and videos based on settings assigned for each camera. Two negatives: video and voice lag and not enough chargers for all cameras.

Setup in minutes , no cutting holes or running wires, no damage to your home so yes for that reason alone it's worth it 100% Wireless cameras but them Anywhere as long as the signal reaches the Hub and the delay of real time is only 2-3 seconds

This is a nice system, works really well. It is attached to our phone and we can see it at any time. Pictures could be a little clearer but otherwise we are quite happy with it

The camera produced good quality video when motion was detected! I loved the fact that you could talk to or sound the built in siren when someone was there!

After a long hour with an in store service rep we went with the Arlo Pro 2 for price and quality. Straight out of the box it was a quick and easy setup. The quality of the footage is great and the alerts are dead on.

I have purchased this for my new home and I really like this product. I like that fact that I can pull the footage from the cloud and store it locally to my server and I don't have to pay a monthly fee for monitoring.

The arlo security is nice, however the batteries drain faster when you activate to record and it does not give you a choice to record longer on your sd cards.

I loved the idea, that it was wireless. However I had too many problems, bought two systems, one system had vision issues, the other had audio problems, I returned them both.

Motion detection would start late and we would only catch some of the movements. We bought it for sound detection . On sound 2 we got very few recordings , on sound sensativity 3 we received 100s of recordings . The system would not connect too an external hard drive , we lost weeks of recordings we needed for a court case . Took camera , stand and external hard drive back . Certainly not worth the money . At this time it reminds me of a toy , in years to come maybe they will make it better and more useful

Bought for my mother after she was robbed. We own this system ourselves. She loves the added security of being able to look out at any time she wants. Put it on all entry points on her house and covers the driveways as well.

Easy to hook up and works very well. Good purchase, well worth the money. I would recommend this to everyone who needs to keep an eye on their belongings. Being able to see what’s going on on your phone is a plus as well.

Two way audio doesn't work with OS and volume very low with Samsung. Tech support sucks with this issue. I get two way at lo volume with Samsung tablet. On i phone or ipad as soon as u hit mike allaudio is blocked. When u speak loudly u are heard but get no audio back. Im not alone it seems , as i read more reviews . Sucks the audio feature is a waste but im past return date and not going to buy a new phone to use features i should be able to use. My advice if u want two way audio... Look elsewhere.

Works great if your trying to record any motion. However if you want 24/7 live recording you’ll need to find something else. If not you’ll be ok with this.

So I have been an early adopter of Security Cameras, specifically the cheap IP based versions. These cameras have served me well, however they are configuration intensive, which often requires setting up port forwarding rules on your router, subscribing to dynamic DNS provider and setting up e-mail accounts for both sending and receiving and configuration of an FTP server for storage. In addition they seem to have a limited lifespan and the vendors provide very little support and they are vulnerable to hacking if not setup and maintained properly. Most of the IP based cameras require an intermediate or advanced knowledge of computers and networking. All of this is not beginners or novice stuff, which is where the Arlo solution comes in handy. With the Arlo solution I had the base station, account and one of the two cameras (more on that later) setup within 30 minutes (which was handy as we were going on vacation for a week the next day). The Arlo system provides an all in one solution with free one month retention of recordings sent to the Arlo cloud. The clarity of the video is very good, is configurable in quality, sound and length. In addition to sending e-mail based alerts, you can download and install the Android or IOS app which provides just about all the functionality you would need (real time alerts, viewing and some configuration options). The base station provides local recording to the two provided USB ports, so you can add your own local storage devices. The cameras are well built, with a rechargeable battery that apparently will power the camera for months (which I find amazing and very appealing). The total wireless operation of the cameras provide enormous flexibility in placement both indoors and out (the cameras are weatherproof). Motion detection sensitivity is configurable and works very well with little in the way of false alarms caused by rain or direct sunlight (an area that the cheap IP based cameras have an issue with). I did have a problem syncing the second camera that was part of the base station, two camera pack. Only during very rare occasions was I able to get the camera to sync/connect with the base station and communicate on an ongoing basis. The unit appeared to be defective right out of the box. I have contacted Netgear for support and although they are responsive I have been asked to go through several rounds of troubleshooting without success. Basically I believe one camera is defective and they are bound to make sure that I prove it before authorizing a replacement. - Pros o Well built cameras o Easy setup o Free cloud recording o Totally wireless o Amazing rechargeable battery life o Good sound and video quality o Decent motion detection o Nice web site and mobile apps o Company commitment to support, software and security enhancements - Cons o Easy setup to a fault, no real advanced options in the base station or cameras o One camera was DOA on arrival (and I am still trying to prove it to support) o Not controllable (meaning you can’t pan or optically zoom the camera, although it has a pretty wide field of view). o Not the cheapest, but ease of setup/use provides more value than you would expect

Love these cameras, first week caught someone hitting our mail box with their car (they did come to our door and apologize) and found the FedEx delivery man throwing our box in the vestibule. Fed Ex never responded to the complaint:(
