Very Convenience and easy to install. I rather buy the RING cameras. Arlo hard to use the battery every time it runs low.

Wasnt too impressed with this arlo it kept disconnecting then i had to do a factory reset

If you can handle the hefty price tag, you will be hard pressed to find an easier, more powerful security camera system than the Arlo Pro. Basic installation and setup is a snap and thanks to the completely wireless and weatherproof HD cameras, you can easily place them almost anywhere with little fuss. They will sit on any flat service or attach to magnetic mounts (included). The hardest part is getting all the pieces and parts out of the almost impregnable retail packaging. Once you do, you will find you have everything you need to get going, including rechargeable batteries for each of the included cameras, a USB charger and cord and and all the necessary ethernet and power cables needed for the base station. Setup is as simple as plugging in the base station, attaching it to your router and individually syncing the cameras via a big button on the top of the base station and a little button on the top of each camera. Lights on the base station and cameras tell you how its going and when you are done. This package comes with two cameras but the system can handle as many as five. A smartphone based app (Apple and Android), which you download and launch before you begin, steps you through the process so it's hard to screw up. Once you are done, you can launch live feeds from each camera whenever you want, via the app, and set them up to trigger with the built in motion sensors, audio sensors (not preset but can be set up within the app). You can also set the cameras to only trigger during certain hours or even only if you are away from the house via the beta geofencing mode. Be aware the cameras work fine at night in night vision mode, but can be blinded by distant bright lights. The large square batteries that power the cameras are supposed to last up to 6 month but that will vary depending on how much you use them. (They arrive fully charged) The cameras don't come on unless triggered (or you ask for a live feed via the app) and only run for about 30 seconds. This is NOT a surveillance camera so there is no continuous feed. When cameras are triggered, the video is stored in the cloud (free seven day day storage from Netgear) or locally on USB flash drive or hard drive. Oh, I forgot to ,mention the base station has a built in siren, which can be set to go off when the cameras trip. The sensitivity for movement and the audio is adjustable via the app. As for aesthetics, they should especially please the Apple crowd. Everything is white and rounded. The base station sits on its edge and is about the size of a large paperback book. As for downside: Well some might find the batteries an issue but since they are rechargeable it's not a big problem. The only real issue I encountered was after setup, when the app said I needed to download new firmware. That was necessary for each camera and the base station and when the system came back up, one camera was offline and had to be resynced. The app also can be a bit glitchy sometimes and locks up or fails to respond properly. When that happens, just kill the app and relaunch it. But overall, it is very good, well thought out system that should serve the needs of most people.

Bought the Arlo Pro 2 and have had it for about 8 months. When they work, they look good and do what they were designed to do. However, one of the cameras stopped sensing motion. It's been a month+ and I'm still waiting on Arlo customer support to replace it. They keep asking the same questions over and over. Overall, I would not recommend the product.

A lot of on and off problems, sometimes they don't pick up movement and sound. But for a small home it'll will work.

One camera was not working properly and I contacted the provider and sent me a new camera quickly. I had to pay for shipping, though.

I wouldn’t recommend these if you want great security. Don’t pick up everything and only gets a glimps if it.

This system does not live up to its hype. Motion detection only extends 20 feet at best. Beyond 20 feet, someone could strip your car and the camera would not activate. Image looks great on a cell phone but expanding it results in a fuzzy mess. The discussion about positioning the camera to avoid waving tree branches and background traffic is a joke - it won't be detected anyway. And who wants to replace a battery every 2 months when it's 15 degrees above zero? The design is good, the software and imagery are poor, and technical support is non-existent. Works best inside your home when your target space is only 15 feet from the camera. I returned it after 9 days.

I generally like my product but was a little disappointed on two factors 1-effective range and 2-cold temperature tolerance.

For them being wireless they are good. However, the video quality for recording is not the best.

The time it takes to activate camera almost always does not catch the action. Today I saw the postal truck pull up to curb in front of my house. The only action recorded was mail truck leaving. This happens constantly. Package delivery is poor. I walk to middle of my yard spreading grass seed in one small area. Software asked if a package had been delivered.

Records video like it should but it is very hard to change the settings and have it stay. Integrates well with smartthings.

These cameras have a terrible track record and rarely work the way they are supposed to. Charging cord and batteries fail all the time. Batteries don't keep a charge or lose charge quickly so I ended up running an extension cord and keeping them plugged in at all times which defeats the purpose of wireless. Resolution is so low, you cant see any detail and there is a delay in picking up motion. Support from Arlo is useless - they dont back up their product. If It wasn't past the window to return them, I would be changing to another brand of security camera right now!

If you actually want to use this armed. Go wired, batteries don't last. I've had them for about 2 months if that and I've had to charge them 2x. Cameras disconnect all the time. Getting everything set up to not have false triggers, from everything imaginable can be quite a task. It's a great idea! There are some pros to this... but it's not worth discussing because the cons greatly outweigh pros.

Good system, doesn't stay on live view for more than 30 min, so we returned it. Was trying to use as a baby cam/home security.

Didn’t last as long as I thought. Stopped recording clearly and kept having batter issues

If this worked it be great because I like how it is actually wireless but it would not hold a charge so I had to return it.

This may be helpful, but is it worth $700? We just are not sure yet, so I cannot say that I would recommend it to a friend.

The only problem I had was the battery went dead every two day. It support to last 3 month to 5 month. I had to return it.

The Arlo Pro System is an amazing camera system with a lot to offer but as any with any item, could use a few improvements. Starting off with the great, the ease of setup was simply amazing. I used my Android phone for the entire setup, never needed a computer. I found a central location for the base in my home and plugged it in to the wall and attached it to my LAN and turned it on. Next, I downloaded the Arlo App and went to work. Setup your Arlo account and find the device. You can name it and adjust a few setting at the setup. Next, connect your cameras, the very easy to assemble cameras I may add to this. The camera batteries came fully charged, no pre-charging needed, just install them. To connect your cameras, you can either hit sync on the base unit or via the app. I tried both and either way worked flawlessly. I then went ahead and mounted my cameras. One facing the front door and entry area and one in my kitchen covering the back door and dog, I want catch him getting on the counter. The magnetic base mounts are easy drill and screw attachments and make it quick and painless for aiming. The design was well thought, for inside use. I do not like the design for outside use, it would be really easy for someone to walk up and dismount outside. I plan on adding a outdoor camera, but I will but a solid screw mount for it, which they cameras do have built in, just not included in the kit. The night vision on the cameras are superb, I give them an A+ on that. Also, the cameras picture quality is better than many camera systems out there, crisp pictures and easy to see, definitely better than most store security systems. The 2 way speakers are almost useless, you have to yell in your phone for anyone to hear you. The app interface is decent, needs improvements but not many. The notification and emails on/off need to be added to the schedule option for one, this is a must. I do not need 200 emails while I am gone at work, app notifications are enough. Second, I would like to have a manual record button that saves my video to a local drive, I do not like the cloud based option only. Arlo already has the memory stick backup option there, why not let the system record all the time and when it detects motion, backup to the cloud. You add this feature, you will have an industry winning combo, would be no reason to buy another system.
