    Dont buy it from best buy they dont provide any tech. Additionally this is very hard to use and the battery drains so quickly.

    This camera doesn't work very well. I purchased it to upgrade the older model I had and this one is not reliable. Also the updated app is a disaster. I had picked arlo because I was under the impression that it was the best. But I will eventually switch to another brand as I am very disappointed. The monthly fee isn't helping their case either.

    Disappointed but it is Arlo

    I have existing Arlo cameras and security lights. Nowhere did it say I would have to upgrade the Arlo Secure app in order to add the new 5S camera to my account. Doing the upgrade breaks the functionality for the Arlo security bridge and the existing lights as well as the custom rules I have defined.

    Had to return them.

    I was in need of new cameras so I went with this set up since I already had Arlo devices in my home. I wasn’t able to connect these to my wifi so I decided to return them. It had something to do with the internet connection, it requires 2.4 but I have 5.0.

    Bought these because they were listed as Apple Homekit compatible but the company has not released a firmware update to fix this issue. The firmware solution has been promised for more than 6 months.

    Nice cameras, but I couldn’t get the complete set connected to my WiFi. Very disappointing. Took it back. Really wanted to keep them, but out a paper weight of it wrong connect.

    The Arlo Pro 5S 2K solo cam is an excellent choice for your security needs. I already had an older Arlo system setup, so adding this camera to the existing eco system was fairly easy. If you're just starting out, you would need to download the Arlo app and create an account. After that, it's very straight forward. September of 2022, I had a two sport quads stolen out of my garage, so I've been looking for a solution for monitoring my garage which is detached from my house. The Arlo 5S Pro has excellent wireless range. I have this in my garage and it's about 60 feet from my WIFI router, and a brick wall is in between that. The camera has a excellent video quality. The light is also fairly bright. Not floodlight bright, but it will definitely illuminate the area enough to be able to see. Another benefit of the light is that it will help the camera switch out of night mode and go back into standard mode to help pick up more details of what may be happening, like possibly telling what color clothes the perpetrator is wearing. You can also select what zones in the viewing area are to be detecting. For example, you can have it so it will ignore a tree that constantly blows in the wind. It also has has some sort of AI. It will notify you if it detects an animal or person. There's not much to dislike about this camera, but I did find a few things I wish ware different. First, this camera uses a proprietary charging cord, which is included, but if you lose it, you'll have to buy a new one before you can recharge your camera. Also, all you get is the cord, no charging block. Another issue I have is that setting up geofencing in the app was not as simple as it was before. I had to update my app in order to add this camera. after the update, everything changed. I had to re-learn the app in order to use it. There is definitely a learning curve. Once you figure it out, it gets easier, but at first, it can be frustrating. I gave up on it at first because I didn't understand how to set up geofencing. It's not an obvious choice. Before you could just select the geofencing and setup your zone. Now you have to go into the app and it's barried in the "automation" area of the app. Even after you figure out where it's at, you still have to un-select a bunch of options to get it to work like the previous version of the app. For example, each mode has the other modes selected in the geofencing option. I had to go into each mode and de-select other other modes except the mode I was in to get it to work right. Seems like they over complicated it, or maybe it's just me. Once I figured everything out, I was happy with the overall performance of the camera. Likes: 1.) Great video and sound quality 2.) Light works surprisingly well for the size 3.) Wireless Dislikes: 1.) New app seems to complicate things 2.) Has to be hard mounted. My other Arlo camera's used a magnetic ball mount which I find much superior 3.) Proprietary charging cord, and the charge block is not included

    Requires WiFi 2.4 ghz to setup. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with tech support trying to setup it up on my wifi network (Gogle wifi) and we couldn't do it.

    Awesome 2K with Night Vision and Spotlight

    This camera looks almost identical to my existing Arlo Ultra and Arlo Pro3 cameras. It charges the same and uses the same batteries. This one can be used standalone by connecting to Wi-Fi easily, I did check that it would use the 5ghz Wi-Fi signal, but if its far enough away, it used the 2.4ghz Wi-Fi signal, because it is stronger at longer distances. I tested that way first, but then I hooked it up like normal to my smart base station with the rest of my Arlo cameras. Hooked up to the base station, it still had a very good range and signal. This camera requires a subscription for using all its features, there are lots of options. I already have the unlimited option, so adding another camera made no change at all. This camera has better battery life than my other cameras. The battery also last longer using it connected to a smarthub basestation than using it on Wi-Fi. I tested it for a week in a busy location on a fresh battery and it used about 1/3 less charge of the battery than the camera I swapped it out for. So this camera should be used for your busiest location, to get the most out of it. The 2k picture was very clear and you can zoom it quite a bit. It has very good color night vision, and the spotlight is pretty bright at close distances, you can turn the spotlight off in the options if you don't want to use it and save the battery.
