This is the second set of Also cameras that I've purchased. Set up was very easy, and the Pro 5S version doesn't even require a base unit. I paired mine with solar battery charging so they are virtually maintenance free.

The ability to not only identify a trespasser, but to advise Law Enforcement of the suspect’s hair color, clothes color and with 2K resolution, even tell what he had for dinner. Purchase enough to cover all around my home and with the 160 degree coverage per camera, you can’t beat the clarity and coverage.

This camera was a nice upgrade from my old, out of date camera. Set up was easy and fairly quick. The 2K resolution is crystal clear and the color night vision is quite impressive. The built-in spotlight is a game-changer. It's bright enough to deter any would-be intruders, and it's motion-activated, so you don't have to worry about it staying on all night. Plus, you can customize the motion detection zones to focus on the areas that matter most to you. Two-way audio is another fantastic feature. I've used it to scare off package thieves, have a chat with delivery drivers, and even just to say hi to my dog when I'm away from home. The sound quality is excellent, and it's a fantastic way to interact with whoever's at your doorstep. One of the standout features for me is the Arlo app. It's intuitive and user-friendly, allowing me to check the live feed, review recorded footage, and customize settings all from my smartphone. The free cloud storage for the last 7 days of footage is a huge plus. If you need more storage, they have subscription plans.

I have owned and operated an Arlo system for over 7 years and they are a sophisticated system of outdoor cameras, I guess they could be indoor also, that has helped me with security of my property and the products are durable and easy to set up and never fail in any types of harsh weather. This camera was a nice addition to my system and the good thing about Arlo, the ease of adding new products is nice and easy and they keep it simple. Plus you can set up zones and its nice to be able to live view video and audio and you can even chat via audio through these cameras which is a nice feature. They mount on magnets or a screwed in mount to any surface, I added them to backyard trees, the garage and even sides of the house and being wireless you dont have to worry about clunky wires getting in the way and obstructing your set up. The camera is also durable and stands up to ice and snow and cold and the battery is durable as well. I would highly recommend these cameras since they are easy to use and a breeze to set up.

    Great camera, poor app

I got this camera to add to my existing Arlo system at our mountain property. I first initiated it into service at our Arlo system at my home. Yes we have two Arlo systems, and they’ve been great up to this point. Initial unboxing, activating, and updating firmware went smoothly. When adding the Pro 5s to our existing system, the Arlo Secure app told me it needed to be updated before I could add the 5s. I didn’t know there was an updated app, so I updated it then got a message that our Arlo doorbell camera does not yet have firmware supported by the new app, so I cannot add a schedule for my doorbell camera. I can turn the doorbell camera on and off, see what’s going on out there, but it will not record anything. I checked the Arlo website and saw an “end of life” notice, so apparently its on its way out even though its only a couple of years old. Guess I’ll have to buy a new one so that blows. On the plus side, I like the layout of the new app and it adds new functionality that I did not know existed. I’ll need to spend more time with the app to get familiar with the various new options. On the minus side, its not nearly as intuitive or easy to setup on/off schedules for your cameras as the old app was. Also, once I updated to the new app my previously set System On/Off settings disappeared. They are scheduled to turn on in the evenings thru the morning, and I updated the app around 4pm so I started getting alerts immediately of cars driving by, my kids outside, etc. So I had to shut it all down and setup my schedules again, both at my home and our mountain property which was rather irritating. Regarding my review of the 5s camera, its very nice, the video/audio is great. But overall I do not like the new system. The arming/disarming away/home modes are different and do not work the same as they did before. The problem is that I have two different properties in my Arlo app with two different base stations but as far as I can tell there is no way to separate the two. The system is not intuitive at all. What I’m trying to do is arm our vacation home 24 hours a day and only have my main home security on during the evening hours, which was very easy to do using the previous app. With the new app, as far as I can tell you either can arm everything or nothing, you cannot separate the two. I’ve read all the literature and maybe I’m missing something, but its very frustrating and I have not been able to figure it out so security at BOTH of our properties is not in effect. Also, I no longer get consistent app alert notifications. Prior to the new app I would get notification alerts every time one of my camera’s motion detection was triggered and a recording made. With the new app, I was getting no notifications so I wasn’t sure if it was even working properly. Then I finally got an alert notification at our vacation home so I pulled up the app and there were 34 recordings by one camera (yet only one notification??). I looked at the recordings, there was no movement on any of the recordings. Sometimes when the wind blows at that property the large trees will sway and trigger the motion detection, but it was a calm day, the trees weren’t moving at all. So again, I don’t know what’s going on since getting the new app. To sum up, the 5s camera is nice, the new Arlo app is not user-friendly and confusing, I can’t tell if the system is working or not, and my doorbell camera can no longer record. Arlo, please make this process easier or I cannot recommend this system.

The camera was easy to install and has a great picture quality. It works well with my other Arlo cameras. The only negative thing is that I found it difficult to figure out how to make the siren function. There were no clear instructions so there was a lot of time searching online. I thought it was a tad pricey when compared to other cameras but I wanted an arlo with a siren so …. This was my only option

    Arlo Pro 5S

Bought these on a holiday sale for a really good price. I did like how clear the 2K videos were and liked how I could hook it up to my 5G internet. When I looked at my live view it only took 3 seconds for the video to show on my phone. However, between the time I purchased these cameras and my free month trial ran out, the price for the subscription went up almost $100 a year, in ONE price jump. $130 to $216 for the cheaper service per year. Ridiculous! That's probably why they were selling this $500 bundle for $200, to sucker people into paying so much $$$ for their subscription service. You Can Not hook these up to a hub and save your own videos. You Have To Pay for the subscription with the Pro S5 cameras. I took them back to the store and got a refund.

Lots of options with this camera. You can connect to just wifi or connect to any of the Pro base stations. This way I can also keep a local backup on usb drives. I also love the service as the activity zones' save the battery.

If you already have the security system, then this is a no-brainer upgrade! Knowing that I have a back up in video during a power outage, and still getting alerts is a huge burden off my mind!

    Arlo Pro5S is awesome

This is a great little camera. Its faster recording then Pro4. Video feeds are better quality. Motion is detected better. Night vision works great. Really this is good camera. Must have subscription though. No more free recordings. But you get a lot for that subscription. I totally recommend it. New App can be better and I think over time it will become even better and more user friendly. Watch for Arlo special sales to save a lot on new cameras. If I had to choose between Pro4 and Pro5S I would definitely choose Pro5S.

This set up will not work with Homekit out of the box. You will have to use the cameras through the app. That may not be a deal breaker. If you want it to work through Homekit, you need their smart bridge or hub.
