I have Arlo pro 2 cameras at another home and you can capture and save videos for 7 days without a plan. I'm thinking about returning these cameras and getting some that don't require a plan so expensive to save videos.

Without a 'plan' you don't alerts. The only thing I can see is a live feed. Very little insight into setting it up.

Still on promo before have to start paying for coverage with Arlo but belive will be worth it. Have 2 of these cameras. Good coverage area. Also have arlo wired doorbell. Excellent products. Easy to install.

They do WORK without a subscription,but that just means it notifies you and lets you see just that notification video. It you receive 3 notifications, you can only view the last one you got. A thumb drive in the Arlo base hub does not change anything. Because of this Arlo is no better than Blink cameras
