I have both the pro 3 and the ultra and would definitely recommend spending the extra for the ultra. The upgraded differences are worth the extra cash, the microphone is noticeable better as is the picture also the zone setting is much more customizable.

I am very happy with my 4K Arlo cameras. The quality of the videos are amazing it is very clear, there is a 180 degree viewing angle, when you zoom in or out it very clear. Overall I am very statistic with the 4K Arlo cameras and it comes with a year the Arlo smart plan included.

I purchased these because I researched them online and people we raving about it. Seemed really good, and easy to set up, but I had issues from the get go. Always small technical issues and when I try contacting the support calls/chats are minimum 30min waits. They also have not responded to any support tickets I opened. Just isn’t worth the money when it doesn’t work correctly and you can’t get ahold of anyone in a timely manner. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Item returned.

Exactly what I needed to protect my family and get the sense of sanity and security after the break in while me and my family were robbed in the middle of the night! Now, every activity is recorded and I’m notified immediately about any uninvited motion! Love the cameras!

Conceptually these would be an excellent product. In reality they fall short of the mark. The Arlo base station creates a private network to which the cameras connect from what I could determine. It must be connected to your network via ethernet. It’s signal strength is horrible. Arlo’s solution it to tell customers to buy a WiFi extender which you should position in a central location then connect their base station to the extender via ethernet. Perhaps because Arlo’s parent sells mesh routers. Now this may work in ideal environments. However the signal coverage their base provides remains an issue. Not to mention a central location in ones home is not necessarily the ideal position to place a WiFi extender and their base. In my experience 50 ft is pushing it when it comes to distance between base and camera position. I find this unacceptable. Arlo declines to offer a means to extend their signal with expansion base stations. At least their support refused to offer that option. Their technical support, again in my experience, is barely capable of understanding the underlying issue, has a rudimentary understanding of their products which prevents them from providing support for more than the most basic issues. For example following a firmware update and app update regardless of the time my cameras were armed for motion detection the software would “detect” motion recording video and sending a false notification. I called support and all they heard was I was having problems setting a schedule. No matter how I explained the issue multiple support persons via phone, email and social media failed to understand and provide technical assistance or realize their could be a software bug. Their social media support informed me a case would be opened and I would be called. They never called simply sending an automated email that since case has been inactive and is being closed. My recommendation is to avoid Arlo products.

Purchased the high definition security cameras for monitoring home and front deliveries. Set up was fairly easy, cameras have many easy mounts and the video view is wide and excellent quality. The app for smart phones is excellent and easy to use.

This is my review for the Arlo - Ultra Indoor/Outdoor Wire Free 4K HDR Security Camera System – White. This was my first exposure to security cameras in my home. I found that it was very easy to unbox and install. The package comes with a network hub, and a single 4k security camera. The camera includes a magnetic mount with very simple mounting hardware, and a rechargeable battery. To start off the installation, you can refer to the included flyer, which advises you to download the Arlo app on your smartphone. The app (available in IOS or Android) will then walk you through setting up a login at the arlo website, which is basically a Netgear product. Since I use a mesh network solution from Netgear, I found that the Arlo solution integrated easily and quickly. I merely had to plug in the network hub into my router and power it up, then use the Arlo app to type in the serial number. The Arlo app hooked up to the hub easily. I then opened the Arlo camera and inserted the rechargeable battery. You can add a micro sdhc card to the hub to enable 4K recording, but that is a separate purchase. After I assembled the camera I was able to easily add it into the network using the Arlo app. The camera can turn on a spotlight, it can enable you to talk through its microphone, and you can record live video based on movement. The camera can view 180 degrees, and using the Arlo app you can display the video on full screen, plus zoom in on your phone. The camera will switch to night mode to enhance your view at night, and if needed you can set it to turn on a spotlight. The Arlo app enables you to download a video file, and you can go back and view your library of recordings. Arlo will notify you through your smartphone when the camera detected movement, whether an animal or a person. I was able to easily install the magnetic camera mount on the soffet of my roof, pointed at an angle across my front yard so I could view my front door and sidewalk as well as driveway out to the mailbox. The magnetic mount enabled me to easily adjust the camera angle, checking against my smartphone screen. The Arlo system comes with a 1-year subscription to Arlo Smart Premier. This covers up to ten cameras on the Arlo system. You will have access to a rolling 30 days of video stored on the Arlo cloud. At the end of the 1 year, you can choose to subscribe to a plan or drop that service and just use the devices individually. You can use the included Arlo Smart to enable the camera to alert you specifically if there is motion, sound, or a person identified. The camera will record for a defined period of time, so you can refer to it at any time. Arlo Smart also has a package detection feature (currently in beta) which will notify you when a package delivery is detected. I was very impressed with the Arlo Android app, which I used to setup and then utilize the camera system. It was easy to run and set up the devices. I was able to use the app to talk to someone through the camera’s speaker and microphone. The app enables you to view a library of recordings, see the live picture, and switch from one camera to the next. You can take a screenshot or download the video to the local computer or smartphone app. Arlo supports up to 10 cameras on a single hub. Although there are other security camera systems on the market, do not expect that they are compatible. I was expecting Arlo to work together with another popular system, however I found that the model Arlo Ultra was not yet compatible, although other cameras do integrate. Arlo Ultra kits currently come with a 1-year subscription to Arlo Smart Premier. If you own other Arlo cameras and buy an Arlo Ultra kit, you can use Arlo Smart Premier across all your Arlo cameras (up to 10) for one year. When the 1-year plan expires, you have the option to sign up for the same plan or choose one of the other Arlo Smart plans. You can also choose not to have a service plan. The one camera I installed seems to work really well. I’m pumped to get more cameras, as they are very easy to integrate. One constraint is the cost. The nice thing is the system is very modular, so you can add a couple of cameras at a time as you find more funds.

The Picture is crystal clear. Lord willing nothing ever happens but if a "porch pirate" ever hit us they would be identified speedily! Also we can know when our pet returns from his bathroom run as we are notified. What a great purchase this has been.

The system is decent, but the shutter speed could be better. Also, you lose out on some of the options if you are not hooked up to a direct grounded power source. Im running outlets to help alleviate this concern. I would consider getting an estimate for outlets before you purchase.

The cameras were very easy to install with great picture quality. My one dislike is the 4 sec delay in live video. When you go to talk to the person they have usually already walked away. I bought the 4 camera set and have my whole house covered.

System is excellent and does as advertised. Love the feature that tells you person vs animal vs package. Well done, Arlo. The range on the motion detector is disappointing, though. It says 25 feet and is closer to 15 feet. Otherwise, a very good product. Battery life is also as expected/excellent.

    Arlo Ultra 3 Stopped Working

I would have given it a 5 star rating if I had taken the time to review a month ago. Everything was excellent with the system until about 3weeks ago. I received a notice that all 3 of my cameras needed a/c power to activate the activity zone. This was strange since the cameras are wireless. Then a few days after that all 3 cameras plus my Arlo doorbell stopped recording. The still alert movement, but don't show what caused the movement and nothing is in my library. Not sure what happened nor how to fix the problem. This is maddening with such an expensive system.
