It will record cars in the street at about 60 ft. going sideways but, it will not record a person walking up the driveway towards it until about 25 ft. The instruction manual does mention that.

The spotlight feature is awesome because it is very bright and I can see quite far when it comes on. It is also really easy to use and it has a cool zoom feature that you can turn on that automatically zooms into peoples faces when they activate the camera.
